Hey everyone,

Like all of you I used to smoke, and now do not (1 year off analogs!). I've tried a lot of diffrent ecigs, and am now onto the 510-t models. I've been using them for about 3 months now and they've been great (mostly).

My questions are:
1. I try to use the normal 510 batteries because of my 510-PCC, but I find that these batteries heat up the atty much faster than my eGo batts - I'm attributing this to different voltage and ohms, but can someone clarify this? On normal 510 batteries the atty gets so hot that it's difficult to hold, and I get 'juice backfire'. I hate that as it's pretty much wasted juice.

2. Do they make a 510 battey at the same voltage/ohm level as an eGo battery?

3. Does anyone else have trouble with eGo-t atty's? One lasted about 2 weeks before it became like sucking a bowling ball through a garden hose. It may be because I was using 100% vg juice with it though. Thoughts?

Thanks everyone! Happy to be vaping than smoking!

Howdy and Welcome!!
Cant answer as to the 510 battery issues, as all of my PV's are mods. I saw a post on one of the suppliers websites that states that one model is only designed for 1.7 to 2.2 ohm atties with a specific battery, so may be the volt/ohm issue there. 100% vg will clog an atty really fast, and can create issues with proper flow from the tank if I am not mistaken. Might want to change to 50/50 or 70/30 and see if that extends the life....

Explain please

What are the ohms of the atty? LR attys are not to be used on slim batteries - they can damage the batteries. Are you using an LR atty? Also, a freshly charged battery is always a bit higher voltage than its its normal level. So a freshly charged battery will run attys hotter. Other than that - no idea. Normal Joye 510 and real Joye/Janty Ego are about the same voltage, 3.2 or so under load, and higher when they are fresh off the charger.

I don't use attys except to test juices (normal non-tank atty and drip tip). I use Boge standard resistance cartomizers on 510 and Riva 510 (popular Ego clone with slightly higher voltage)

Interesting thoughts guys. I do use LR 510-t atty's right now after using the normal 510-t atty I found to be just a hair off of the amount of vapor I wanted. I did see that the LR atty's are 1.7 ohms. probably too much for the little 510 batts. Not sure what the normal 510-t atty's run at though.

I may go back to a normal 510-t atty and use a higher pg mix with it and see what happens.

The voltage of the standard 510 is the same as the voltage of the Ego. It shouldn't heat up faster.

Unless...........

The ohms of the atty are different. Nother words, the lower resistance is going to heat up faster, so if you are using low resistance attys (not a good idea on the standard 510) the atty will heat up faster.

It is best to stay at 2.0 ohms or above for the Ego and probably 3.0 ohms for the 510. (Talking about the attys now)

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, LOL, sorry.

And, uh, that 100% VG is probably as thick as Karo syrup. Unless you are allergic to PG, try a 50 percent or less VG/PG mix.

The only diff between 510 batts and Ego batts is the amount of mah they hold. It's just a measure of duration. Voltage is the same.

Ok, that does make sense and that is what I thought. I've already purchased new liquid that is 70pg/30vg and that is working like a champ, and I stay away from dark liquids at all cost - I just never get the atty back to what it was like pre dark liquid after I use it.

I just wish the had a normal 510 batt that had even half the life of an eGo batt. It's a true all day batt, but its rather huge for my taste. Great for sitting around at home, but on the go it's awkward to keep in a pocket. Someday I suppose...

Anyway thanks for all of the advice! I will try a normal 510-T atty next go around.

No what's with this clearomizer business? Do I have to change up my method again? lol
