Hi Everyone! I have been vaping off and on for over two years now and let a friend talk me into buying a mod. I was using an E-go up until I bought the beast.
I loved it for the first two weeks and then the wick and coil went out on it which i figured was no big deal since its one of those fancy rebuild-able deals. Riiiiiiight. So long story short is here i am six months later and I have rebuilt the coil but it overheats my atomizer (ehpro) and spits hot e liquid all over my hands..and then scorches my wick due to the lack of e liquid...and then I have to begin again. I haven't been able to successfully use my mod since two weeks after I bought it. Anyone have this issue also?Anyone know what I am doing incorrectly? Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to the ECF boards.

Honestly, there is sooooo much to cover with regard to coil building, proper battery selection and maintenance, ohm's law, the proper use of a multimeter, etc.

I highly suggest that you approach your friend, whom recommended this mod to you, to guide you through all that is required.

Hi,

I would suggest you rebuild the coil to 1.5 ohms or above to get into the swing of things. Sounds like you are way down into the sub-ohm category here.

Do you have a meter to measure coil resistance?

Have you measured the coil you currently have installed?

If the answer is no to both of those questions then you should stop playing with fire (figuratively) until you can answer yes to those questions or you really may be playing with fire (literally!)

Rebuildables are a hobby for a number of vapers, but not for everybody - don't let yourself get discouraged! You may or may not find it interesting after you get the basics down, or you may choose to stick with one of the replaceable head varieties instead of winding coils. It's up to you, but keeping vaping easy for your style is all that matters!

I think you might want to learn how to rebuild, no matter whether you choose to do that day to day, or stick to mainstream styles. That skill could come in handy in the future should availability be limited. Good luck!
