Hey all, I spotted a Smoke NV disposable or "short term" at a local beer store. I bought it and then spotted a kit at a local drug store priced not too badly, I didn't buy it (yet) but have quite enjoyed the Smoke NV throw away, have had it for about 24 hours now or maybe more.

I've done some reading and see the Smoke NV is a KR808. Just has labels and fancy branding on it. I have read mixed reviews. I'm not sure I'm really all that addicted to "analogs" (I love you call cigs that BTW) in as much as nicotine and other chemcials as I am the oral fixation, having something in my fingers, the hand to mouth action, and the incredible boredom relief smoking gives me on long drives by myself for the work I do etc.

Listen, I'm not sure about the Smoke NV per se. I like the size and form factor, I like the idea of vaping, sort of not so much to quit smoking as more like to replace smoking and/or compliment it.

Can I buy random makers cartomizers and screw them into a Smoke NV battery? Where's the best place to look for this? Also I'm not caring all that much about nicotine or no nicotine.

Thanks, appreciate the incoming advice etc.

Cheers,

Hi Johnny, Welcome to ECF! Sorry I can't do you much good either; as far as I know getting *any* vaping gear - even without the dread "nicotine" stuff - into Canada these days is akin to smuggling or something. Once you have 5 unrelated (non-spam, or whatever) posts in the New Members' Forum, after about an hour you'll be able to post elsewhere on the Forum. Then you can inquire in the Canada Forum & I'm pretty sure someone there will be able to point you in the right direction. I don't know how it works but I believe there are legal vendors of PV gear in Canada, I just have no idea how it finds its way there.

Best of luck & happy vaping! :toast:

Cheers,

Greetings, Happy St. Pat's and congratulations!

I started (on the other end of the country) with similar thoughts and ambitions. I found the small batteries did not last long enough to be useful. One battery wouldn't last as long as the other took to charge. I enjoyed them. The first 2 weeks I was stuck with no-nic cartomizers. I was paying $5 each for them and they would last about a day. Not a lot cheaper than smoking. I did cut down to 2 - 4 cigs a day, however.

My solution (may not be for you) was a 1100 mah pass-through eGo type battery. I charge it once a day with the USB cable from my computer, wall adapter, or car adapter. (I bought my wall, USB, car adapter at an Irving gas station, but I'm sure other places have them for charging cell phones, it's neat.) With a pass-through battery I can still vape while it is charging, no more waiting for the charger to give me a "green light"to vape. I got my pass-through from canvape. (I bought 2, for back-up). And a few of the Star Dust clearomizers. They are easy to fill right from a bottle of juice, they are easy to clean, and have a screw top so that they don't leak. I haven't had an urge since I got this outfit. Canvape has very good prices, great service and shipping, and no customs to deal with. You can get no-nic juice from Happy Vaper. You should be happy with that since you do not smoke to get the nicotine.

This battery will accept anything with a 510 thread or an eGo thread, but you can order adapters to use your 808 on it. There are a lot of different screw thread and size differences on the local markets because they all want you to use only their equipment. So, no, not anything on the shelf will fit your battery.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions specific to Canada. I am sure you will soon meet many more Canadians to help you, as well as many others from around the world with a "world" of experience to share!

Always with the disclaimer, YMMV! Only you can decide what best fits your needs, budget, etc.

Final advice; when you find what works for you, RELAX, ENJOY! Don't try to keep up with "the Jone's". If it ain't broke, don't fix it! or you soon will be!

Hello fellow Canucklehead! Best Canadian Deal on KR808D-1 is from www.CANVAPE.com (Ontario). Starter kit including 2x280mah batts, charger, usb adapter, and 5 empty cartomizers is $30. Recommend you get one of the 2A car chargers as well if you are in the car a lot.... and of course extra empty cartomizers ... I like the SR Kanger horizontal coils. Then check out Jugheads.co (Alberta) for some nice e-liquid. Act now and you will probably have your stuff by Wednesday. You might want to checkout the smokeless image site for a Volt regulated (3.6V) USB passthru. Canvape sells one, but it is unregulated (5V) which is a much higher voltage than the batts (3.7V) ... I like a consistent vaping experience whether I'm wired in or not. If you are driving a lot it makes sense to use a wired solution and save your batts. Cheers.

Thanks all for the responses. I've actually had a bit of a cough/throat soreness. I've still smoked less "analogs" (That still makes me chuckle BTW) as well as Vape, but I put the smokenv unit down for a while and it went away, I then started again and symptoms are back. I've drank loads of water, even had lozenges etc to keep the throat etc moist but no success, this may not be the thing for me after all...
