Noob here myself like 7 days in. I have already spent way more than I wanted to :p

Having said that heres my experience.

I like you tried to do my research. Then went out and took the plung. I started with an ego-t kit and clearomizers. What I found out right away is half the battle is finding a juice you like. The Ego-t kit I got came with some "tobacco" juice and it was tolerable but not enjoyable.

This left me wondering if I had just dropped $80 on something I wasnt going to use.

However I got lucky, there was another vender in town that had a storefront and their specialty was juices. I went to their store and they let me sample away. This was a godsend as I found something that just knocked my socks off and I knew imediately I would not only be successful with this but I would enjoy it.

Since then I have been learning equipment.

The ego-t I started with are fine but I wanted to try a twist cause people talked about them here so i grabbed a 1000mah one. I liked it more and found right away that changing the voltage has a definite effect on flavor. So now i could dial in what worked for my juice. My next step will likely be a higher end Variable voltage battery(like a volcano or povari or one of the myriad others).

Next thing I found was that tanks are not all equal. I started with a few clearomizers that came with my kit and they were ok in fact i liked them a lot but figured out pretty quick that they were not going to last very long and at $6 bucks a pop I was starting to worry about the cost. So I did more research.

Today i just picked up two different rebuildables. A Vivi nova and a thor rebuildable clearomizer. Both of these you can totaly tear down and clean and replacement heads only run a couple bucks each. Right now I am loving the Vivi but i just got it so will see how it works out.

Also I found out I like long wicks. They seem to hold the flavor more consistently for me so both of the rebuildables I got I made sure had long wicks.

So as of now I am fairly content its been a week since I smoked an analog and i dont see myself ever going back. The key I think though was finding a juice I loved right away. Very lucky I think if i read peoples stories correctly. The equipment from the start has been functional and with the juice i have been content. At this point I am just trying to tighten things up a bit.

My advice take it or leave it from a 7 day noob.

Get a twist kit they are pretty cheap and the Variable voltage on them does make a difference. If you can, get rebuildable tanks to go with it. I am really liking the Vivi so far so I am going to suggest that. Many others here seem to like them as well. The stardust rebuildables seem good as well but from my personal experience so far the Vivi seems to have a cleaner taste.

The most important thing IMHO no matter what you do is try to read the Ejuice threads and try to find some juices that are highly recommended. You may not find one you like but I think your chances are probably better. Again i think it was key for me finding that fantastic juice right away as immediately I enjoyed the experience. Now I am looking for more juices that i love as much. This i think will end up costing me hundreds in my search but i already have my eyes on a few from reviews here. Heres hoping they work out :p

Good luck to you and dont give up that sweet spot is out there for you.

Wow. Dont get this kind of quick answers in the Audio forums. Thanks to all for the quick helpful responses. I smoke about a pack a day of Pall Mall or similar, red, so stronger. Does the no nic juices come in strengths? Do they really work?

I have never thought of just buying bits and pieces. I will look at kGo's as well. What doesnt give some the enjoyment of the "t" or "c", but something so similar does? These are the things I dont get. I see long wicks, short. Man, did all of you have this problem at the start?

No one solution, That's why most on here qualify their responses are based on personal experience. It's not a one size fits all solution. You have to find what works best for you. Kits are suposed to offer the most value, don't always. If you are looking into cheap you could go the seperates way and get two batteries, a charger and a couple of cartomizers and clearomizers, with some juice.
Enjoy the journey it's part of the fun. And if you are worried about making a mistake, don't. Jump on in after reading and sifting through here a little. Almost everyone tries other stuff until they find their sweet spot on equipment and on juice.

Im getting fantastic advice. Thanks to all again. I will let you know what I ordered tomorrow. I cant keep looking. Time to jump in.

If it isnt too late... I have been vaping for two months... tried a bunch of stuff...here is my 2 cents if you havnt bought everything yet...As far as juice goes i cant help much.. its really throwing darts at a wall... i was surprised i liked sweet candy flavors WAY more than tobacco flavors AND helped quitting...

battery = ego - VV is the best IMO
Delivery = Tank Cartomizer = SmokTek DCT Tank w/ 1.5 Ohm DUAL coil
or = Vivi Nova 2.5 (long wick)/ SmokTek RCT (SmokeTek TiTan) 2.0 Ohm single coil
Juice = Personal taste = vape the rainbow...energy cow...you can always make your own (not suggested for beginners)

hope it helps!

eGo-C are good. I have 3 of them in from of me now. I have recently tried a clearomizer and find that I like that much better than the tank style I started with. My gf still prefers the type-B tank model, so I guess it's a personal choice. I would get the eGo-C starter kit with a cheap clearomizer and see which one you like best. GOOD LUCK!

Hi everyone. Just letting you know I stuck to my "ordering something by today" and figure it out from there theory.

I wanted to make it somewhat easy so I stuck to one vendor. Canvape. I wanted to be able to talk to someone over the phone to order for the first time so I left an email with a quick explanation. I then realized it could be days before a response. Couldn't wait so I winged it.

2 Ego C Twists (black and stainless) 650 mah
1 E2 UVO 6ml tank with replacement carts
1 Smoktech 4ml tank (forgot to order replacement carts)
5 pack of Ego C atomizers.. (Noob question. If Im using tanks when will I use these. I will do my research too. ha ha.
Did I need to purchase these yet?
A few drip tips (for fun of course)
Car charger/USB charger
And 4 E liquids.

How did I do? Did I miss anything important that I need to order tonight?
Off to check out all the cool setups for more ideas. This is more addictive than smoking analogues.

Hi again Audionut. Yes very well indeed, aside from the eGo c atomizers. Those you will have no real use for without the rest of the "c" tank system, no foul tho because you now have $15-$20 in store credit if you return them, try to swap them for something like 510 Bridgeless Atomizer LR(1.5 or 2.0ohm) SR(2.5 or 3.0ohm) or 510 Standard Resistance $4.49 Atomizer Black, Stainless & White for dripping. Either of these in 2.5 to 3ohms would be great on your new twist. I would recommend these to be used to test flavors primarily. This can also be used to vape with full time but it is not very convenient in my opinion. This is still the best way to sample different flavors without all the fuss of filling a whole tank only to throw out a whole bunch of liquid if you dont like it.

The the next step for you should be to fid a reliable liquid vendor because that was my personal longest search once I had nailed down the equipment side of things. Finding a liquid I enjoyed was a large portion of my personal journey. Drip tips are functional as well, they can add flair to your device but they also make it more much comfortable to use too. The only thing i see that you didnt get this go round was a basic package of cartos and an atomizer. Otherwise it looks like you are off to a great start. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Ok For clarification, The ego c atty heads won't work for you. For them to work you would need the whole eGo "c" atomizer base, cone and tank....... The atomizer was a suggestion in place of the heads that you have on their way. The atomizer needs to be a complete 510 atomizer in order for you to be able to use it for anything. I suggested the bridgeless model because of the way it will be being used, for dripping, to test flavors before you commit that flavor to your chosen tank/carto/etc...... I have a video for you to watch, its long and will help clear up some of the mistery(lol)around dripping..... A PBusardo Review - Cisco, the HH.357, & My Life As A Dripper - YouTube *SIDE NOTE* Ignore the actual name of the atty, just know that it is an atty and this is what dripping IS..... Not trying to make you more confused. I picked that atomizer because(normally) a bridgeless atty is a little more expensive than a regular one, and the place you have ordered from carries both styles its just this style would be better for you to drip with when testing your liquids/// thats really it.... I think you should contact your vendor and arrange to return the 5 pack of atomizers in exchange for something you will be able to get some use out of. Let me know if you have any other questions......

I think I get what you are saying. Im going to check out the video now. Your help is more than appreciated and I will more than likely be coming to you for more info if you don't mind.

Thanks again for all your help

When I was new I spent quite a bit of time watching youtube reviews of the various gear I was thinking about purchasing. To see folks actually touch and describe everything, and review it with much more experience than I have was very helpful. As for juices, I've found a couple vendors I really like through trial and error, but everyone will tell you that's what it takes. Helpful hint - hard to find tobacco flavors that are really good, in my experience...easier to find sweet/fruit flavors. And, if you like menthol, a little will kick up anything else you're trying. My current favorite is vaperite natural pineapple w/ a touch of virgin vapors menthol moon - soo good! Keep coming back to it.

Basically, you need a battery, a juice delivery method, and juice. Clearomizers and cartomizers are a combination of atomizer (the heating element) and juice delivery. Both will work just fine. If you go the ego twist route, you're looking at a 1000mah battery 100mah = roughly 1 hour of active vaping. Decide how often you want to be charging, and whether you'd be more comfortable filling cartos or clearos, and get a pack of cartos or 3-4 clearos (always have backups) and you're good to go.
Juice is subjective..... but my preference is to get juice from vendors that specialize in juice. Kick Bass Vapor, Pink Spot, Heather's Heavenly Vapes, etc. Check the General E-juice section of the forum for more.

...and get backups for your backups, extra batteries and cartos and clearos too!
