Hello all! Been smoking on and off for two years now. Been promising my kids that I'd quit, when your daughters are crying and you feel like crap its good motivation. I'm up in the Arctic Alaska and, well....its cold. Going outside to smoke is not fun when its -60. Recently went on a business trip. Staying in hotels, driving rentals is not conducive to a smoking habit so I picked up 3-4 disposable e cigs. Then I started doing some research. Read a decent article on Gizmodo and then started googling stuff and came across this forum. I picked up an O2Vapor kit, a Firelight Fusion kit and a free sample for an njoy King. Just got it all in this AM. Loving it, reviews to come. The Boss just told me to stop using them in the office though :( she doesn't like the smell. Oh well. reviews to come on the kits!

I have pack of "analogues" as you seem to like to call them. I'll finish them off ;) (Marlboro 72 Menthols) and then call it good. I work out daily and at 34 I'm in the best shape of my life aside from my lungs! Lol! Trying to gain weight and smoking hasn't been helping. We'll see how this goes. Looking for info and support. This seems like a good place for that. Cheers!

:toast: Almost the exact same story. It's cold enough for me here in sunny Minnesota to look for warmer way to satisfy my habit. Turned onto vaping immediately, but still couldn't let those last two packs go to waste.
IMG_3936.jpg So this is all the gear that came in this AM, pretty excited. That NJOY makes me cough, analogues don't even do that! Not thrilled with the taste. Of the two kits I purchased have to say I'm most impressed with the 02Vapor kit. Lots of thick vapor. Not thrilled with any of the flavors, the menthol from firelight fusion or the caramel machiatto and honeycomb from 02vapor. Both quality kits though. I'll give them a go and then write up a proper review.

I also read that Gizmodo article and was inspired to try an e-cig. Bought the O2 from 7-Eleven (didn't like it at all), tried a Blu and it was good enough for me to realize this could work.. I jumped online and started reading and shortly ordered a Sigelei ZMAX kit and quit smoking cigs the day it arrived. Haven't looked back and aside from the first two weeks where I had some very minimal "a cig would be nice right now" after a meal or with a drink, I have had no issues or desires to go back to the cigs.

Congrats and stick with it!! :toast:

NJoy Kings have a lot of nicotine (36/45mg) I started with a GreenSmoke kit. Looking forward to your review/experience with them, I don't know much (anything) about either of those brands.

That's twice the nicotine in the "high" nicotine 02vapor juice! The 02vapor kit was only $40 bucks! I bought a 20ml bottle of vanilla flavor 18mg juice to go with it. Shipped priority for $62, great deal and the kit is really high quality. I need something cig like. These other vaporizers with the tanks and stuff just aren't handy enough for me. The Firelight Fusion kit seems as good if not as slick as the 02vapor kit. Seems to be standard size batteries and cartomizers as they are interchangeable which is a plus. The cartomizers on the firelight fusion kit could use better packaging. I think they evaporated a little since they filled them. They ran out of puff pretty quick. The 02vapor cartomizers came in a really nice sealed foil backed bubble packaging (like pills or the expensive chewing gum). Overall I'm digging the experience. I'm pretty confident it will help me kick analogues, but puffing on them like a train can't be good lol!

Whereabouts in NorCal? I grew up in Hayward and lived the last 10yrs in Sac. I was actually in Palo Alto/San Jose on business when I decided to try out some disposable e-cigs and decided they might be worth looking into.

Thank you! I've been up here with my kids since August. I don't really miss the malls and such but a decent Mexican joint would be nice! A movie theater would be heaven lol! I've had family up here since the 90's. Jobs are plentiful and if you like the great outdoors it can be nirvana. The Northern Lights are a spectacle to behold. Overall I'm enjoying my time here, can't envision staying here forever but I don't have much to complain of. I'm taking care of my kids and my career seems promising. I've got a lot of love for AK, but to call it rural would be an understatement.

It's not uncommon to overdo it at the beginning. Everything is so new, and the flavors so tasty! The nicotine is absorbed slower and can creep up on you without knowing it, and you don't absorb as much as with smoking so you may feel you need more.

Eventually, you will find you level and can adjust from there.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck on qitting the stinky sticks. I wouldn't have smoked if it was -60 lol. Was -20 when I was in WY with 50mph winds and after working outside all day for 14 hrs I couldn't see going back out to smoke. 2PAD smoker and all I could stand to smoke was maybe 5 if I was lucky.
