Hello Everyone, let me first by introducing myself.

My name is Tim Carter out of IL.

I have had my eye on eCigs for awhile, heard mixed reviews. some say they are oh so awesome, others say they are worse for you than analogs.

With that said, I found this site, and read a review about the Joye eGo's.

I read about 2-3 pages in, and established this is a good ecig.

My wife is pregnant, I am also going to be reenlisting back into the Marine Corp as an officer. However, I need to get in a bit better shape first. I have been strength training, but have dreaded the cardio portion of it for some time now. So I am looking for something to help me kick the habit so to speak.

I have heard that the 'vapor' is less harmful for your lungs, and causes no negative cardio effects, such as analogs do. Can anyone verify this from their own point of view?

Also, I went to cignot.com and am looking at buying the following:

KIT-EGO-ALL Joye eGo * NEW * 2 Complete eGos $78.00 1 $78.00
EGO-BAT-MBL Joye eGo Battery - Manual Black $0.00 1 $0.00
EGO-BAT-PLA Joye eGo Battery - Manual PLATINUM $0.00 1 $0.00
JOY-A18-20M Joye Marlb liquid 20ml, 18mg Nicotine $12.00 2 $24.00

does anyone see anything else that I MIGHT need?

I read that a pack a day smoker, will normally go through about 10ml of juice a week. So I am buying a '1 month' supply (simple math of 10 x 4 = 40ml... yay)

I lately have been smoking Marlboro Special Blend Light 100s, so I am assuming the 18mg of the low will be..ok?

Thanks for any input!

Hi Tcarter!

There is no reason, and no proof, to think that e-cigarettes are dangerous. There are few comprehensive studies, but the ones that exist universally say that they could not find any serious risk associated with e-cigs.

The testimony of virtually ever member here points in the direction of their health improving.

Most of the claims that e-cigs are dangerous (like people saying it has antifreeze, the vapor's just as bad as smoke, etc) are completely baseless with no evidence to back them up.

However, there are two caveats to that.

At this point in time, there is no reason to think e-cigs are dangerous. But e-cigs have only been around for about 5 years. So time may tell a different story, for a long-term vaper.

Also, due to a poorly regulated market, there are bad manufacturers out there. One member here recently posted an experience about receiving cheap Chinese Dekang e-juice which was tested and the PG used in the juice was found to be sub-standard, and the nicotine level was higher than advertised.

So, be careful. Read reviews, ask questions, etc.

Anyway! You might want to buy some extra atomizers and carts. They do have a distinct "life span," so you don't want to run out.

Other than that, I think you're set! The eGo is well-loved around here, can't go wrong really.

even if they find out in the future that ecigs are just as harmful as cigarettes, they cant tell me im not breathing better, not wheezing, not hacking, and dont have more energy, so for those reasons alone i think its better. anyway i have an ego and love it. actually 8 of em so far and i prefer the cartomizers, theres mixed feelings on those on the forums here, but as i get more used to vaping, im getting lazier so i like to fill a bunch and carry them around in a pouch.

I would highly recommend that you order your genuine Joye eGo kit from NicotineNirvana.com. Their REGULAR price for the dual kit is $74.99 delivered, but right now if you enter the coupon code ecfego10 the price is $67.49 DELIVERED.

I don't recommend the Joye e-liquid, which is made in China. I HIGHLY recommend the American Blend e-liquid on NicotineNirvana.com, which is FANTASTIC, great tobacco taste, without the chemical taste so common with Chinese liquids. NicotineNirvana sells the American Blend liquid (30 ml) for $18.99. The Chinese stuff is cheaper, but tastes like s#%t.

As for other things you need, I suggest that you get some blank (empty) 510 cartridges, since the eGo kit only comes with 5 pre-filled cartridges (which I suggest you do not vape, since they taste like crap). You will need the blank cartridges for your e-liquid.

Good luck,

P.S. I've had my Joye eGo for a week, and with the American Blend, it's awesome!

I agree with this guy completely. I got MY eGo from Nicotine Nirvana also, and the American Blend 100% American Made e-juice is EXCELLENT. I wrote a review of both in the review section here.

Stay away from the cheap corporate China e-juice if you can.
Help the little AMERICAN guys when you can.
If you get the juice and you hate it, PM me and Ill buy it from you.

P.S. I tried to re-up after I got my degree to get ANY service to pay for lawschool, they told me I was too messed up (physically) to get back in, I was like "you messed me up" but they were not having it.

No way would I venture away from the vendor you have chosen.

Why? While it's true that Cignot has a good reputation, their prices are a bit high. I've ordered from NicotineNirvana.com 3 times, and my order was always shipped the very next business day, with a tracking number, and the products are awesome.

Competition is the American way! :)

Cignot is great and their service is top notch. As for it being better on your cardio than cigs that is without a doubt true. No if ands or butts about it. I stay in shape and do a little MMA and after 6 months vaping I am no longer hacking up a lung every morning and three rounds in the ring doesn't make me fall over half dead anymore.

One other thought though, you will most likely be using military issued trustfire 14500 batteries once you're in your main unit. There are a bunch of mods that use them and they last a long time.

Hi Tim,

I am not a medical professional, however it is generally known that nicotine itself is a stimulant, which constricts arteries (making the heart work harder) and raises bloodpressure among other things.

I have only been vaping for 2 days now, so I can't really comment on my own experiences yet. That being said, the data that I have read seems to indicate that vaping is far less harmful than smoking analogs.

I think the eGo is a great choice. I have TW Tornado (same thing) and I love it. I started with 16-18mg and was still smoking, so I got some 36mg and that did the trick, no more analogs for me. Its been a 3 months since I started the 36mg and last week I started to wean down with 24mg, going well so far.

I highly recommend you get a drip tip. Specifically a "510/901 Delrin Regular Length Wide Mouth Contoured T-Tip: $7.99" from Super-T Manufacturing. Not all drip tips are made the same. These will not restrict the air around the cone like all the others do. Once you get the hang of dripping every draw tastes good.

Another thing you should consider is a USB passthrough. I use it as by backup at work and at home, I never went anywhere without an extra matches or smokes.

Also, get a couple extra atomizers.

I mainly get my juice from My Freedom Smokes and Tasty Vapor. Both US
But I usual buy my spare parts from Healthcabin. China

Good luck and don't beat yourself up if you are still smoking. Eventualy I found vaping just tasted better. It took me a about a month to make the transition.

Another +1 for Cignot and Vicki. Unbelievable personalized service. Cignot's basic line of juices are incredible...try their tobacco sampler at 25mg.

If saving $$ is an issue, then I recommend the Rivas for $49.95 from VaporJunction. I have eGos and Rivas, love them both but definitely prefer the Riva for its longer battery life, better button, and looks...at a lower cost.

Hi .. I am a total noob, have only been vaping for one day! However, I was a Marlboro Red smoker for over 40 years .. until today! I researched all of the ECF forums, read recommendations etc for 2 weeks before I placed my order ... and that order was with Cliff at Nicotine Nirvana.

Cliff's customer service was exceptional, he shipped the same day as my order and it arrived here in 2 days.

My research had made me decide that the Ego was the way to go, and when it arrived this morning I barely let the battery charge for 20 mins before I had to try it out.

I really had no hopes of actually quitting analogs, I figured I loved them too much and that nothing would ever keep me away from them. I had purchased the kit thinking I would give it a try but that it probably would not work for me .. no way could anything be good enough to make me give up analogs.

Boy was I shocked, after my 3rd inhale on my Ego, with vapor streaming out of my Ego and my throat hit feeling GREAT .. filled with Cliff's own FABULOUS American Standard blend (not the junk that came in the pre-filled cartridges that are part of the kit), I knew I had found the most fantastic thing ever!

I have been vaping on it, on and off, for 9 hours now .. have not wanted an analog and am totally satisfied.

The Ego is working EXACTLY like my reviewing had led me to believe, it's perfect for me .. just PERFECT, it is beyond my expectations.

I ordered the kit, with a bottle of Cliff's American Standard e-liquid (the 36 ml strength because I figured if I've smoked Marlboro reds for over 40 yrs I sure as heck better get a bunch of nicotine on every drag).

It is all fabulous .. and I now know what everyone on this great forum has been raving about and what I was so afraid would not happen to me but it immediately did .. I didnt want an analog and after 9 hours I still don't!!!

I know I will never go back to analogs again .. in fact I have 10 cartons of Marlboro Reds stockpiled in a closet and will probably sell them .. cuz I sure as heck dont want one, I am completely satisfied with my Ego, I have no desire for an analog .. all is perfect in my "newbie vaping world".

I did also order extra atomizers, because I had read that they can go bad and yes, I will be doing the method I read about on ECF to do the atomizer clean/burn .. but wanted extra's "just in case".

I also ordered the USB pass through so that I can sit at my computer and vape .. huh, feels so weird to be doing this "inside" the house when I've been so use to smoking outside for years and years.

Cliff is the BEST, and I'm sure that Vicki is too ... but I just cant say enough great things about how fast Cliff got this kit to me and how much he helped me .. and how thrilled I am with his American Blend.

I'll be a Nicotine Nirvana customer for years to come and will never hesitate to recommend him, he's great .. and my Ego is GREAT too!

Best of luck to you, I hope you end up as happy as I am!
