Hi everybody, I joined the forum because I read a few posts where I can probably help people a bit but not allowed to post yet. For what it's worth, I've gone from a heavy smoker for many years to non smoker for 10 years and now to a heavy vaper for the last 6 months. vaping has been good for me healthwise but I doubt that I will ever give it up - if I had to it would be much harder than giving up analogs, I kid you not!

Thanks for the welcome. Funny you should ask about my setup. Just composed a "short novel" about it: Maybe you can help?
I've been using genuine Joyetech EGO-C twist (1000ma) batteries with both type A and B heads on and off for 6

months. The "off" periods are due to frustrations with the wicking process. The reason for the "on again"

times is that I get an excellent vaping experience when the damn things are working properly. I'm currently in

an "on again" period but frustration started almost immediately. Three out of 5 new (genuine, supposedly) type

B heads immediately generated the burning taste, the other 2 are OK for now. Using 100% PG which is supposed to

be better suited to this setup. I have 3 twist batteries and find that 4.2v is good when the things are

working, and setting variations have no effect when not. I've tried SS wicks with even less success. I know

that I am a heavy vaper (more than 6ml juice per day) but I spread the load between the three units (battery

charging overnight) so I don't think excessive workload is a cause of wicking problems - and obviously not when

using brand new heads. When I get frustrated I revert to using Boge carts and have no problems at all with

them but the vaping is no where near as good. Love to hear from anybody who has experience with these units,

particularly if they can offer positive reports and comments on how to get the best out of them. Cheers.

I got frustrated with the EGo atomizers also.

My best set up is a tank/carto. The carto goes inside the tank, keeping the carto nicely moist with juice all day. My tank holds 5 or 6ml.

Here are some examples of nice tanks: http://phiniac.com/cid-29-1/xl-textured.html

I have one of these and it looks pretty awesome in my PV.

Any time the topic of glass tanks comes up, people naturally wonder about breakage. I wondered the same thing. Who would want a jagged broken tank full of nicotine juice in their legs, right? These tanks are durable.. Watch these videos to see torture tests:
http://phiniac.com/video.php

The secret to the strength is annealing. This is a heat treatment used to strengthen glass. If you buy a glass tank from any vendor, make sure it is annealed.

Another often recommend vendor for glass tanks is IBTanked. These cost less than the Phiniac tank. I don't own one, but another guy on this forum who knows his stuff recommends these and owns several of them.

I also own a locking tank. It's plastic but works well. It's my back up system. http://www.madvapes.com/artemas-locking-510-dct-clear.html my mobile.

In short, if you are frustrated with the EGo atomizers, it's probably time to move on. With the quantity of juice you consume, a tank may make the most sense.

If you prefer to use something other than a tank, PBusardo just completed a review of clearomizers. The Kanger T3 came in first place. These are for sale for 5-7 bucks at several vendors. The T3 has replacement heads, so you can change the head when it gets old.

Please excuse typos.

i would just give up on all the "ego" heads they are all junk in my book and have horrible wicking issues and cost to much when there is much better out there for less money. egt yourself some CE4's(stardust) with replaceable heads or a vivi nova for those ego twists you will be thankful you found them once you try one.

I went from smoking a pack of marlboro reds everyday to vaping. I have been vaping for the past year now and I enjoy it far more than I ever enjoyed smoking. It has become kind of like a hobby for me. I have bought several mods and have recently been getting into RBA's and have purchased a few including the Odysseus. I don't think I will ever give up vaping; however I have lowered my nicotine level from 24 to 18mg.

I could see myself being a vapor for life as well. I met a guy at a bar a few months ago and he had a beast of a Vmax and was just puffing clouds of some delicious peach he let me try. Turns out it was 0mg nic, and he'd been on it for almost a year. Says he will never smoke again, but vape at 0 nic for the rest of his life.

This is a stupid question, but is a Vivi Nova like a clearmizor/tank hybrid? or just a really good clearomizer? All I've seen is pictures, and everyone recommends them to me, but I don't actually know what they are.

Thanks for your advice. I've watched the PBusardo and a couple other reviews and ordered a Kanger T3 to try it out. I've previously resisted clearomizers because one of the main attractions of the ego-c type Bs is the aesthetics but now I'm at the point where performance is more important. Don't suppose you know of any not-clear clearomizer types which attach to ego-c batteries without adapters as I really like a matte black finish ...
Thanks again, The Phantom.

I've dropped in nicotine strength from 24mg down to 12mg. Been there awhile and I doubt that I will go lower. I still need the nicotine, and from what I've been reading about nicotine lately its not any worse than the caffeine in coffee or soda products. So moderation is the key I feel.

You are correct about the vivi nova style tanks being a hybrid. A tank is a larger juice carrying device. Tanks will use either a cartomizer (cartotank) or string wicks to the atomizer head (clearomizer tank). Both of these juice carrying devices have their pros and cons. I happen to prefer the cartotanks as I feel they provide the best flavor in my experience with both. I made a sort of picture dictionary of the more common juice carrying devices here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/343294-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212

There are clearomizers and cartotanks that have a darkened smoke-colored plastic that you might find appealing if you don't wish to see your juice.

I've been using cartotanks for about a month and a half now, i do enjoy them very much so. Every once and while I end up flooding the carto, I think from using too-low of a voltage on a dying Ego-C Upgrade battery. I also made the mistake of testing juices in these, which if you start a fresh carto on a juice you don't end up liking, that flavor never seems to leave.

Thanks for the link again, a very helpful one. Some day I hope to make my way down to the lower levels of nicotine. There's still hope!
