Alright, so if I have the 808 then I should be able to buy the following, right?
Cartomizers:
KR808D1- 5 Pack Cartomizer
Carry Charge Case:
KR808D1 Portable Charger Case (PCC)
Pass-thru adapter:
KR808D1 Manual USB Passthrough
And Cat, I'd definitely like to try the manual battery...is this the one you refer to:
KR808D1 Battery
I'll likely buy a little at a time just to make sure it IS compatible with mine. I actually may end returning my kit completely as it seems one of the batteries doesn't function properly. I REALLY have to suck on it to get anything out.
Thanks again, everyone, for all the advice!
Those are all correct if you indeed have the KR808D1. The only thing to revisit is the cartomizer link. Those are
pre-filled cartomizers - not the blank ones. If you want to order a bottle of juice and refill your own, you will need to order blank cartomizers with a bottle of juice. As far as Juice, from MVS, I have ordered the US made Cola, Tiramisu and Coffee espresso. The cola, I think is very good. The coffee espresso is too potent for me - way too heavy on the espresso. But- my friend loves it. The verdict is still out on the tiramisu - it tasted great using in a cartridge with my 510 atty (I have the adapter that lets you use 510 attys and cartomizers with an 808 battery - 510 supplies are not compatible with the 808 w/o an adapter). But when I loaded the tiramisu in a cartomizer, it tastes horrid. I'm thinking it might be a bum cartomizer b/c the taste is just SO bad, but it tasted SO good in the cartridge. So, that flavor is still up in the air.
If you decided to order a manual battery, blank cartomizers, juice and a pass through, you should be set if it is compatible with what you have.
To make you feel better about this order and the risk that it may not be compatible with your current ecig - If you find out that it is not compatible, you will still be able to use the 808 cartomizers with the pass through and the battery (assuming the one they send is fully charged) until it dies. The only additional item you would need to order is a USB charging cable and there you go - a fully functional KR808D1! And between the PT, the 5 cartomizers, juice and 1 battery, that should be enough to tide you over until you could get a USB charging cable. I happen to like the KR808 - I even prefer it to my 510.
If you are not sure that what you have is an 808 and are concerned about buying stuff, you might want to hold off on ordering the pcc. That is a more expensive accessory and if you definitely want to stay with the original model you bought, then this might be money down the drain (unless you love the KR808 and decided to go with that and ditch your original model). As others on the forum have stated, in todays electronic age, we're generally not very far from a power source. But, if you work out in the field and don't have access to power, then you might want to consider it.
I have two other options -
1) if you are not in a hurry to order supplies and you have enough to last you a week or so, I will mail you an old/dead cartomizer for the 808. You can see if it fits or not, then you'll have your answer as to whether what you have is a KR808D1 or not.
2) If you decide you just want to scrap the whole project of trying to match what you bought previously and go with a new starter kit, such as the 510. The one nice thing about the 510 as the starter kit is that it is one of the most common thread patterns. So, if you decide later you want bigger batteries, you can use all your 510 stuff with something like an eGo.
Hmmm. I think if I were in your position -
If you aren't in a hurry and really want to know if you have an 808 or not, wait for me to mail you a cartomizer and test it.
If you are like me and prefer instant gratification, I would go ahead an order the 808 supplies. Like I said, even worst case scenario if it isn't compatible, all you will need to have basically built your own KR808d1 starter kit is a USB charging cable - and the PT, the one charged battery and your original kit should be able to hold you over until it arrives.
If you are interested in having me send you an old 808 cartomizer, just send me a PM.
I really feel for people that purchase a starter kit and cannot figure out what model it is. I was fortunate that the rebranded 510 I bought (it was called a Vx2) said that it was a 510 on their website. I just got lucky. I thought I had done my research, but I really had not. I just got lucky. Hopefully you did too and ended up with an 808.
