Hello All..

I am a new member here and have been looking through the net for more information and reviews on good E-Cig devices and products. I am a tobacco smoker of Parliament Lights for 12 years now. I just started "vaping" (I guess that's what you guys call it) a few weeks ago. I like it and I need more information before I spend any more money on E-Cig products. I could really use some good information and advice on this stuff. With all the sites selling these products, its getting very difficult to decypher the quality stuff from the spam and garbage sites. I also don't want to send money to the wrong people. I have been doing some reading on other sites and this forum looked like a good place to get the scoop .

Well...I'm not sure what I am supposed to share with my introduction, but as an Internet marketer, I know that a web site could never have enough content. So, I will tell you as much as I can...

I originally decided to try the E-Cig because I can't stand these new "Fire Safe" cigarettes that the tobacco companies are now required by law to produce. They make me sick and I can't smoke them. I honestly don't know how anyone does. It seems like the tobacco companies and the government are actually trying to kill smokers.

I am running low on my stock of non-Fire Safe smokes and I do eventually want to quit smoking. So, I I started looking for other options. From what I have learned, vaping is much safer and isn't nearly as bad for you as tobaccos smoking. So far, I have tried two different vaping devices and as I said, I need more info. before purchasing anything else.

My first E-Cig device was from a trial kit at SmokeAssist that I heard on XM radio. I really liked the mental and smoking satifcation I got from the device but there was two problems;
1. There was no nicotine. So, I still craved a cigerette.
2. It tasted like vanilla and I don't like the taste of vanilla.
I really didn't pay anything for this product. They sent me the device (battery/Atamozer/10 cartridges) for free as long as I signed up for re-occurring cartridge subscription. I ended up canceling the cartridge subscription for a full refund. I basically paid $10.00 shipping for the device and 10 cartridges.

My second device I got from Chicago Electronic Cigarettes. I purchased from them because they had "Parliament" flavored liquid to fill the cartridges with. I thought they might have something that tasted like my brand of smokes. I purchased a 901 device from them which included a pack/wall charger case, atomizer, and a bottle of liquid and some pre-fill cartridges. I also purchase the Parliament flavored liquid and some more cartridges. I do kind of like the device. But, I don't like the smell of the liquid when filling the cartridges. Sometimes I can taste the liquid when I am puffing on it..once and a while I get a bad taste in my mouth. The device doesn't seem to produce a lot of smoke (or vapor) unless its fully charged up and has a fresh cartridge in it. I also think I need a higher level of nicotine. I purchased the high (18mg) level, but I know higher levels are available.

I just thought I would share my experiences. I really want to purchase a better device and I could really use some good advice. I am occasionally vaping instead of smoking tobacco, but sometimes I find myself going back to my smokes due to; (1) my device not being charged up (2) I get the bad taste in my mouth from the cartridge (3) I don't have a filled cartridge handy (4) just feel like a regular tobacco smoke. But, overall I really like vaping. I really like the fact that vaping doesn't bother other people and doesn't smell or cause second hand / or even first hand health issues. I love the advantages to vaping a lot and I am really looking forward to discussing it with this board, getting more information, and trying out a new quality device.

Again, I am looking to buy a new device from a reputable company and could use some advice. Hopefully, this forum will be the answer to my questions and will be something that I check in on regularly.

Hi! And welcome to the forum.
As for the type of ecig...you will get many different answers. Some people love the 901, others swear by the 510, others think the 401 is the only way to go, and others just love their mods. It is a decision only you can make. I have tried them all. I am partial to the 510's. The tornado/ego is by far my favorite. The battery life for me is between 8-12 hours before it needs a charge.
As for liquid. You will never get the exact same taste as an analog. I smoked menthol for over 40 years and I cannot stand a menthol vape. I finally realized this cause the liquid does not include all the 4000 chemicals an analog has, so you won't get the same taste!! There are several vendors that have samples for a small amount of money so you can try different flavors. Try them!!! I was so surprised that cappuccino tastes so good when it is vaped!! :) As for vaping...it is the best thing I have ever done! I feel so much better, have more energy, can smell and taste again, and no more shortness of breath and coughing! It is truly amazing! This is a great journey...enjoy the ride! :)

There are 2 that are very popular here , both from very repudable companies.
If you want a plug and play that can be refilled and can come with a portable charging case, the go for the value 4 life vapor king. This is a cartridge type , you can refill the cartridges with your own juice which is what many do. The battery life is surprising long for a small cig type vaper. When buying blank cartridges for these , the new design ones from vapor nine produce a ton of vapor and compare to the 510 vapor IMOH.

Then there is the 510 , sold by cignot and many others , but cignot has a great price and reputation too. The 510 is more of a carto type, just fill it with juice in the mouthpiece. The battery life is not very long, but many people love it and it can be modified many ways . You can buy bigger batteries for it to get a longer battery life.

I own both, I like the vapor king better personally, but if your a person that likes to fiddle with things the the 510 may be more to your liking.

Wow, a lot of info (which helps) and you're going to get a ton of responses.
For a basic good vaping experience, I have a Joye 510. Funds were an issue for me, I could not afford to spend big bucks to start. Got my kit at Cignot for 40 bucks including shipping.
Here's the thing about e-liquid (the liquid you put into a cartridge to "smoke")- it will not taste exactly like your favorite cigarette. My first post here insisted I wanted a tobacco only flavor liquid. That's really subjective, really hit or miss. However there are a lot of good flavors out there worth a try. For the record- they don't taste like a flavored cigarette, they just taste like the flavor. So "grape" will taste like a grape candy or kool aid, not like tobacco at all. Keep an open mind about trying flavored juice. Lite Cig USA has pretty reasonably priced for e-liquid, try a few that sound good to you.
You will get other suggestions for a higher end device, if you can afford it. I've heard great things about the Janty eGo.
Stick around and keep asking questions. It worked for me.

Edit: In the time it took me to write my response, you got two others. Told you you'd get fast feedback here! LOL!

My vote goes also for the 510. You can pick up an entire kit very cheap, and use adaptors if you decide to try other devices. It is a versatile little ecig. If you want stronger battery life then the eGo seems to be the one.
What ever you decide, be patient with yourself and the product and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Yep, no juice will taste like your cig. You might get lucky and find one that tastes like a fresh pack smells, but since you are not burning anything there is no smoke to taste.

Finding a PV that works for you is the first step. Finding a juice that works is the next and the more difficult one. When I started I too thought anything other than tobacco flavor was just too weird. I found that very few tobacco flavors worked for me, but many of the "weird" flavors did work. Once I found flavors that worked it was just getting the nic content right.

The "feel" of a cigarette, I hope you mean the inhale part. We call that TH, that shadow underline under TH means the holding the cursor over the letters will bring up the meaning as a cursor tip. Nic effects TH. So does the juice base with PG being higher than VG.

Now I have a 510 and made my own big battery mod for it. My favorite tobacco flavor is Halo's Harley56 with Halo's Freedom second. (Both in 24mg strength) Harley56 is more like the non-filtereds I smoked for years and the Freedom is lighter, but tasty in it's own way. The juice that allowed me to stop analogs completely was TV's German Chocolate Cake in 36mg.

I went for the 510 because it was touted as the best TH for the $ I have not even tried another model because it works for me.

I recommend The Wonderful World of Vaping, all 6 parts, in the ECF library as the best way to compare models and gain understanding.

    Wow

Thanks a lot guys. This is way above and beyond my expectations. I really did not expect to get this many responses in this short period of time (most forums you don't). All of your responses are very helpful and I really appreciate the advice.

Yes...after trying the "Parlament Flavored" juice and cartridge, I can pretty much tell that vaping isn't ever going to taste exactly like a tobacco cigarette. This may be a good thing as it seems som of the flavors that would taste like crap in an analog are quite enjoyable when used with an e-cig.

I do plan on spending a few bucks to try some different devices. After typing my original post, I ordered the starter kit from BluCigs (as this seems to be a bg sponsor here). I am definitely going to try a 510. I am also going to look through the stores and try some of the flavors you guys suggested.

I really do enjoy smoking, but hate that it's killing me. I can definetly tell this is something that I will like as I am a big smoker and really want to enjoy some of the health benefits of vaping vs. analogs.

Again, I really appreciate the advice. Some internet forums really do have some good people on them.

    Thanks!!

    MORE than welcome!

I loved smoking too and had NO intentions to quit. Even though I have a 6 year old daughter I wanted to see grow up.

Stumbled on e-cigs by PURE accident during a trip to the States. (They're somewhat available up here in Canada, but it's strictly word-of-mouth at this stage of the game..)

Anyway, DEFINITELY try the Ego. I have both 510 kits and V4L kits but I find the 510's to be the best.

As for juices, a really nice one that A LOT of people enjoy is RY4. This is definitely MY favorite!!

Good luck and you'll find your 'groove' before too long, I know I did!

AND, read, read, read and POST on ECF, the people here are GREAT!!

i just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum! that's really interesting that you get sick from FSC (fire safety code) cigs. i never noticed any difference in my brand, but one of my girlfriends ended up quitting cold-turkey because of that very reason. it makes me wonder what other chemicals they had to add for them to be FSC regulated. blech!

i've only been on here for less than a week myself, and i'm astounded how much info there is on here. to tell you the truth, i haven't even gotten my e-cig in the mail yet but from the info i gathered on here, i went with the Joye 510 model. i placed my order from cignot.com on Friday, and according to the mail tracking, i'll be expecting it later today. talk about fast shipping, and their prices are great.

i wish i could help you more on e-juice, but i know it's a trial and error kind of thing. i can't remember which vendor or site off-hand (there's so many!), but i know that there are sample packs of like 5 different tobacco flavors available. if i remember the site, i'll be sure to link it.

    best of luck to you!

With the eGo, what's the difference between the Automatic and the Manuel...Are there multiple places that sell the eGo and cartriges for it.

IMHO...ALWAYS go for the Manual. I know I'm not alone either.

With the manual switch, you just hit a little button first. No need to feel like you're trying to suck a super thick milkshake up a straw to get an automatic to fire up, then have it hit the 'cut off' time halfway through your drag.

    Pain.
    In.
    The.
    .....

With the manual, all it takes is a press for maybe a SECOND and the atomizer fires up on it's own, increasing vapor production and, many say, (and I agree), the much sought after Throat Hit.

The Ego IS a 510, it just has a bigger battery. All hardware, etc. works with the Ego. It all depends on how much time you have to run around charging things. Now, I'm home with my young daughter so, in theory, I'm always within throwing distance to a charged batt, etc., but I LOVE my Ego!

Hope this helped and good luck, it's WELL worth what SEEMS to be a lot of trouble. (I mean, how many times did you have to dig in your pocket for a lighter? Run to the store for smokes, protect them from the rain, freeze your bollocks off outside smoking one, etc., etc., etc..?)

    Domino,

Thanks for answering my question. That's exactly what I needed to know. I am going to order an eGo as well..

    paraflier & vip,

Thanks for the Welcome. Regardin the fire safe cigerettes, I know they are putting added chemicals in the paper to reduce the ignition in the cigerette. I know a lot of people are getting added chest pains and headaches from them. From what I hear, the tobaccos companies did very little testing before they started putting these fire safe smokes out. They had no time to test them. Our lawmakers and politicians received all sorts of pressure from the NFPA (national fire protection agency) to make it illegal to manufacture and sell non Fire Safe smokes. So, they are basically using the smokers as lab experiments with these Fire Safe Cigerettes things to see what health problems arise. Check out the YouTube video below.

It's amazing how far the government, non-profits, and social activists will go to push an agenda with little or no concern for people's health...(or anything at all for that matter) The NFPA wants to prevent fires, but doesn't care if thousands of people die from smoking cigerettes that are twice as hazardous and a lot more dangerous. It's absolutely absurd.

Not to mention how the FDA won't approve E-Cigs and Vaping...I wonder why?? hmmm...perhaps because they are being told not to by the gov't who loves big tobacco and the money it brings in (that's just a guess). America is so friggin' corrupt. None of these policians give a .... about anyone or anything but money and poer. Sorry, I didn't mean to overdo it with the politics.

I just ordered an eGo kit from Janty (based on everyone's suggestions) along with a kit from blu. I want to try out a few PV's. I like that the blucig looks exactly like a real cigarette. I think that it kind of a nice feature. I also ordered some juice from TastyVapor (Rootbeer Float, Tobacco, German Chocolate Cake E-Liquid) based on Hoosier's recommendation. Looking forward to trying out some additional devices and flavors with higher nicotine content. Thanks again for you help guys. Plan to stick around here and check the forums often.
