Hello, my name is Jessica. I’m 24 years old from Ohio. I’m new to the forum and new to vaping(kind of) I have been vaping for about 3 months now. However I don’t know what Ohms law is, or which kind of batteries use to use for which mod. I haven’t had too, all mine haven’t needed an external battery. So in that sense I’m new to all this. I hope to continue vaping and to understand all this so I can kick the nasty cigarette habit. Thanks for any help in advance! I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Welcome. If you haven't quit smoking yet, people sometimes taper down over a few weeks. I did that and prefer it. Had really no withdrawal symptoms that way after 35 yrs of smoking.
Taper down? Like still smoke but vape as well just cut back the smoking little by little. I think that’s a great idea. I was trying to just only vape but find myself going back to cigarettes every time

There are many that started vaping and were happy just cutting back on the smokes. Many of us just one day decided to give up those last few and many just simply forgot to smoke that day, lol.

I am using the Littlefoot by wake right now, I am currently waiting for my new one to get here and I will be using that full time, it’s the nunchaku by uwell and it requires 1 18650 battery, any suggestions on which battery to use.
Mooch has an entire blog on the subject of batteries Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum basically though you want real ones instead of rewraps, and there are only 3 real brands: Sony, LG, and Samsung. You will also want a charger. It’s possible to charge batteries in the mod through the USB port but it isn’t recommended. The ports are fragile and tend to break. Plus having a few batteries you can simply swap out for fresh is really handy.

Pinkies, brownies and greenies(?) is definitely the best rule of thumb. I’ve never had a problem with my LG HG2’s. Love them.

    Hello and welcome to ecf.

That is a good battery but the 5A version is what Mooche says is better.

The link below is a trusted ecf battery seller. One of 3 or 4 that is recommended. Also look for a charger. I prefer xtar or nitecore, but that is just me. A 2 bay is pretty inexpensive.

18650 Sony US18650VTC5A 2600mAh High Discharge Flat Top - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers

    :)
I will be ordering the 5A then, I had seen that one on Mooch’s website. Thank you all for the help.

@Jessica Lynch Hello and welcome to the forums!!! The main thing is you came to the right place here. :D There are a lot of wonderful people here willing to help out when ever we can. I was a smoker of 28 years but wanted to quit for my children. I am one of those that "tapered off" on smoking. It took me about 3 and a half months of dual use before I could actually quit. One must want to quit in order to be able to quit. Mind over matter. Some people can do it right away while some people need more time. Also some people just want to reduce the use of traditional cigs. A good saying here is "It is not how many you smoke, but how many you don't smoke that counts." ;) I found twice over time, the more you vape, the less you will smoke because it does eventually make those smokes taste nasty and not even want to touch them. Once was myself, and the other was my father that had smoked for 60 years. He wasn't even looking at quitting. He just wanted to be able to do so inside of hotels since they traveled a lot. The only other bit of advice that I can give is to vape Unflavored if you are used to smoking regulars. To me, vaping flavored and smoking was like brushing your teeth and then drinking a glass of orange juice. It just doesn't mix well in my opinion. Any who, I wish you a happy adventure on your journey of quitting smoking. Any questions, do not hesitate to ask. The only stupid question is the one not asked! ;) Cheers:toast:and Happy Vaping!!! :vapor:

    Welcome to ECF.

You should only buy batteries made by companies that also make good HD televisions. LG, Samsung and Sony. Everyone else buys their batteries from them and puts their labels on'em.

A good rule of thumb is to take the maximum wattage you will be using and divide that by 3. Say you want to vape at 30 Watts but might try 80 sometime. 80 / 3 = 27-ish. That's the maximum amps you need from your battery.

Hi Jessica. Welcome to the ECF.

Lots of us here needed to Ramp Down on Cigarettes while Ramping Up on e-Cigarettes before we could Quit Smoking completely. I know I did. We refer to it as "Dual Use".

I Couldn't Quit Cold Turkey by just hitting an e-Cigarette. I had to get down to 2 or 3 Cigarettes over a couple of Months before I could Quit.

You can Make It. And I know you can Quit. You might just need to change how you go about it.

And Always Remember... It Isn't How Many Cigarettes that you Smoke in a day that is Important. It's How Many Cigarettes you Don't Smoke that is.

    Welcome and glad you joined.
Vaping should easily overcome smoking, after awhile you will know what we all mean, no comparison. Vaping is easily 10x more enjoyable.

    Hi Jessica,
Just took me 2 or 3 weeks of vaping once I stopped smoking, and I found I actually would choose vaping over a cigarette. It took initial willpower to not smoke, but once I got used to vaping it became just as good, if not better.

2 months down the track, I'm so glad I stuck at it. Play with gear and juice flavours & strengths til you find your sweet spot :)

    Good luck

What helped me was finding an absolutely beautiful vape juice that made me crave the flavor more than a cigarette. While I’ve had 4 cigarettes since I started vaping not that long ago and couldn’t finish b/c of taste. I will sit at a vape store trying juices until I find something I LOVE not just like.
