Hi all!

I recently came back from the Nightclub and Bar trade show in Vegas and noticed that there were quite a few e-cig companies peddling their wares this year. I ended up coming home with a free sample of the "METRO" e-cig.

I'm definitely intrigued by the prospect of being able to slowly ween myself off nicotine in the long term, while actually stopping smoking the peripheral chemicals in the near term. The ability to use an e-cig anywhere is also a big draw for me.

After reading through some of the forums, I see that the legal status of vaping supplies is sketchy, and that ordering from the USA could potentially subject your shipment to being intercepted and/or returned.

I live in Vancouver, on the west coast of Canada, and I was wondering if there's any reasonably priced suppliers ... either physical stores, or mail order would be acceptable as well. Worst comes to worst, I could just ship it to my USA PO box and drive down to pick it up, but I'd rather it be delivered straight to my door.

Thanks for reading!

I suggest keep reading and, if you have to get one from the U.S., don't waste all your effort to end up with a model of e-cig that you will get frustrated with in a few months. For all your hassle, you're going to want somethig you'll be happy with for a good amount of time. Almost everyone starts with a mini-cig type. Almost nobody stays with one.
If you need to order from the U.S., you might try a forwarding service. If you need to drive, getting a good PV is even more important.

To that end, here are my suggestions:

Get a PV with replaceable batteries, not the ones that look like a cigarette. You will be constantly recharging and they have a limited lifetime, after which you will be doing this all over again. Not to mention the nightmare of holding one battery as it dies when you realized the other one has only been on the charger for a half hour. Plus, their performance sucks because the battery can't maintain a good voltage for long.

Get a PV with a 510 connection. That is the most widely available type of connector.

Get a large stock of consumables. Cartomizers and/or atomizers

That said, I hear other Canadians talk about Canvapes.com (maybe Canvape.com) as a good supplier up there.

For new vapers, I always suggest the e-Power. It has replaceable batteries, it performs great and you won't be looking for an upgrade in 4 months.
You can see what I'm talking about at Sweet-Vapes.com

Thanks sailorman for all the helpful information. I ended up ordering a Joye eGo-C kit with multiple (large) batteries, atomizer heads, and catridges. After reading a lot of different reviews, I landed on that for multiple reasons like battery longevity, tank/cart size, and reliability/build quality.

Ordering from the US to a PO box on the border wouldn't be that big of an issue, really. The border's about 45 minutes from where I live, and I go across frequently to go shopping.
