I started with the blu as well, worked up to egos, now I have a Lambo and a Maxi Roughstack that I switch between. I found that the blu didnt quite do it for me either. Trying to switch to a higher nicotine juice (and better equipment) may be the ticket for you to get away from cigarettes. I found when I switched to 24mg juice that I have very few cravings for real cigarettes. The Vivi Tanks are a great tank for lots of Vapor Production, plus you don't have to constantly drip.

Good Luck and Welcome to ECF. Your lucky to be in VA because there are lots of vendors near by and your stuff should get to you quickly.

Welcome to ECF! I started with a Blu also. It got me off cigarettes, but sounds like you are just like me, you need a bit "more". In order to get that, you will need a larger battery. What I did was get an eGo Twist with some vivi novas. Now I just fill the tank and all is good.

If you look at my blog, I listed the best price for a kit to start with. This kit will get you the charger, a clearo and one battery for $20. You will need a 2nd battery though or you can just use the Blu while the eGo charges. I would suggest the Twist for a 2nd battery though if you want to get one now.

Just remember that like the blu, these are disposable batteries. I am not sure how many times you can charge a blu, but I know mine was pretty weak! You can charge the eGo about 250 times, and it will last you many hours vs one hour at most for the Blu.

GOOD LUCK! CONGRATS ON QUITTING SMOKING!

We just received the Volt starter kit from smokeless image today and my GF really likes it so far. I got her a white battery with orange LED to look like a cigarette, and she said she wished the cartomizer looked like the real thing too. For the few hours I was with her before she had work, she said she liked it and said she wasn't craving to pick a cigarette up. We both thought the device was sort of funny, yet really cool. Not sure how Blu compares. But I will be updating with how she takes to this as I have to say anything to make someone cutting back or stopping smoking gets my money pouring out of my pockets.

Ok, 99% of these suggestions aren't terrible, but they aren't great either. One guy got it right-ish (iamme123). The answer is the eGo C Twist. You can buy "replacement batteries" from altsmoke.com. They are genuine JoyEtech eGos. Fake Twists come cheaper but you pay in pain and suffering in the long run. Get an authentic JoyEtech eGo. They go for about $26 a piece. Don't forget an eGo USB Charger, you'll need that.

I bought a knockoff a little over a week ago to save some money and the thing doesn't twist like it's supposed to. I have since loosened it up by breaking it in, turning and turning it with a rubber jar opener gripper thingy and now I can just BARELY (if I focus my chi) turn it by hand without the gripper.

A real eGo Twist has white letters on the side of the battery "eGo C Twist", a logo on the bottom of the battery cap, and logos on the part where you screw in the atomizer. Altsmoke and Sweet-Vapes.com have these. They only come in two sizes, 650 and 1000mah. Any other number (such as 900mah) is a fake.

The best mini tank clearomizer is the E1-V which you can find at discountvapers.com .
That aside, if you can't get your hands on one of them the Vivi Nova Mini pulls a distant second.

If you would like to learn everything you need to know about ecigs with a quickness just click the link in my signature to The Vapor's Handbook and all will soon be revealed to you.

P.S. Blu is owned by Lorrilard, the company who sells Newport and Kent cigarettes. Please don't support them any more than you already have. The last thing vapers want is big tobacco to make more money off of them any more, or try to change the game on us. It's ok, we know you didn't know, but now you do. Use this knowledge wisely.

The provari is a good tube mod APV but it will also run you well over $250 for a top-of-the-line model.

As others have said, ego twist all the way. In the beginning most of us, if not all, started with the cheap analog looking devices. They're great to get you off cigarettes, you get the feel your used to and such but after awhile it just doesn't cut it. Do some research, find out whats going to suit your needs best.

At first it might be strange having a larger battery (ego twist if you go that route) but you'll get used to it. What your gaining by moving up to pv is having a longer battery life, with the twist being able to adjust your voltage higher and lower, the amount of accessories you can add, and the amount of vapor production you'll get with these upgraded pv's will be far and above what your already getting from blu.

Side not don't get a provari as someone mentioned. That's called an apv, you're not their yet. You need to move up the vaping chain before you even think about getting advanced models such as those.

I find it funny when people claim one has to follow an order of procurement for vaping devices. Of all the gear suggested only the provari would hold decent resale value if vaping just isn't right for an individual. Advanced or not it doesent take a rocket scientist to operate a provari. Sure it is more expensive than most but you get what you pay for.

What I wouldn't suggest is a hybrid genesis type combo to a beginner.

If you look at disclaimers on sites selling apv's you'll notice the mention of not purchasing if you new to ecigs. As you know with mods the use of larger batteries are required. These batteries need care and maintenance to perform at safe levels, along with an understanding of how to properly use them. I think it would be foolish to advise someone brand new to vaping (no offense to OP) to get a device that requires some sort of prior knowledge to operate and risk their safety. Just my two cents.

The safety of an ego battery vs a provari with the built in safetys. I'd bank on the provari any day. Any PV can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
I've only been vaping a month, wasted money on disposable batteries like egos. I've rebuilt my own vivi nova heads ( love the built in resistance checker and short protection of the provari.) tomorrow ill have a new kicked iHybrid to use further retireing my disposable ego's.

Long and short there is no more danger in a provari than an ego type battery. If nothing IMHO the safety's built into the provari trump the ego types. The warranty on the provari is 1 year. The ego??? The ego has a plated metal body, the provari is made from 316 stainless steel. The ego is a fine battery on a budget. Yet again it's lifespan is pretty limited.
Realistically the only thing prohibitive to a new user about a provari is the initial cost.

It's not the safety of the actual device that's dangerous, mistreating and improper handling of large batteries is the issue. If you haven't read the horror stories of mistreated batteries blowing up, or even well taken care of batteries going thermal you should check it out. This can happen on the charger does not even have to be in the mod.

You're entitled to your own opinion, I own an apv also so dont think I have something against them, but making them seem like the safest thing on earth to someone who doesn't know anything about pv's to begin with isn't correct. OP if you want an apv, which I dont believe you do yet, read up on battery safety first and proper care so you know how to use it correctly if you were to go that route.
