Hey all,

I have been researching for a short time, but with all of the hype and seemingly positive results on the forum, I have already taken the plunge.

I have been a smoker for about 23 years with short stints of quitting here and there. I have tried patches, gum, nicotrol, lozenges, Zyban, etc. and with little luck. It seems that it is not just the nicotene, but the pleasure of the act of smoking that I enjoy.

After researching and deciding on a good place to start, I ordered a 901 from madvapes.com on Sunday and it arrived today! I tried it out at lunch and I really think this might do the trick. I also ordered a boatload of extra marlboro flavored cartridges, two extra attys, a usb passthrough and 3-4 flavors to try.

I am looking forward to being a part of this community and being a vaper instead of a smoker! Wish me luck!!

Jim

Welcome,

I myself was a 25 year 3-4.5 pack a day smoker. Received my kit 19 days ago and my cigarette consumption decreased daily. I now have been cigarette free for 8 days and counting. Don’t get me wrong, I have had a few moderate cravings over the last 8 days, but before this I was never able to quit more than a day and I tried the patch, gum, wellbutrin, etc. Good luck; if you want to quit smoking you will succeed!

Sounds like you did your homework and have made some great choices to start out with. Congrats to you! Really, there are lots of success stories here at ECF (and all true stories of quitting painlessly, so not hype). I'm smoke free for 8 months and never thought I could quit. These work!

Let us all know how you progress.

Thanks for all the welcomes and good lucks!

I am experimenting a bit with a few flavors and have already run down one manual battery. I am now using my usb pass thru and it is even better!

I am using mainly 24mg juice, but I think I might have to step it up a bit in order to be successful without turning into an ...!

Only one panic moment so far... right after I plugged in the pass thru, I couldn't get any flow through the cart at all! I couldn't figure it out at first, but I was holding it differently due to the wire and I was covering the vent hole! Ooops. All is well now!

Mornings/evenings i like the hi-nic 30-36mg stuff, I'll vape 24mg afternoons. Problem is I love the flavors so much, that I'll chain vape, regardless of the NIC strength! :)

My only suggestion would be to try the non-tobacco related flavors as much as possible. DIYFlavorshack and Ms T's (all i can say is WOW!)
I've vaped up 5ml's of Chocolate Mint Banana Float over the last couple of days. I don't have much of a sweet tooth either. Ordered French Toast, bananas foster coffee, strawberry cheesecake, and caramel apple from Ms. T's last night, base on other's opinions here, and can't wait for the order to get here!

Good luck in your efforts! I had one analog craving over the first couple of days, nada since. (2 pack a day Red smoker for 30 years :)

Wow, this is going to do it!

I have been vaping for about 4 days now and been without an analog for 24 hours with almost zero desire for one! Going back to work will be the challenge.

I am already into the "blue foam" mod and I got it right the first time. One cart full and I have gone through an entire battery charge and have moved on to my pass through and it's still giving me plenty of vapor!

Now I have to get some cinnamon e-juice and keep on vapin! :D

Well then get yourself a smoke-free counter!

Congrats, Jim! I have every faith that you can keep going...and going....(insert bunny here, LOL)

I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker for the past year, before that a pack+ a day for 29 years. I was the kind of smoker who would start fidgeting ever time someone lit up in a movie because I couldn't smoke in the theatre. If the doctor told me to quit, he was automatically suspect. If my family talked about it, I immediately smoked more because I stressed myself silly just THINKING about quitting. The only times I managed to stay away from cigarettes was when I was pregnant and as soon as I was out of the hospital and back home...yup, lit up again...(Pathetic, huh?) and one 7 month stint that ended with me being in a serious wreck, wheelchair bound and with nothing to do but sit in front of a computer all day (brother-in-law left his cigs in our car and BOOM...back to smoking again).

Well, I'm out of the chair and now away from the cigs again. I don't really see me ever going back so long as I can have my PV.

If I can do it I figure just about any of us can...and from listening to you so far....yup, GREAT FOR YOU!!!!
