Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I am looking to get started on the e-cigarette asap, but I need to know which one to order. I would like the best one even if it cost more. I want my experience to be as close to smoking the real thing as possible with the throat hit. I have been smoking since I was 16 and I am now 51. I also would like to know what anyone's experience is with weight gain as I am not in a position to gain weight. I am wondering if since there is still nicotine if this would be an issue, because if you quit cold turkey there is no nicotine which I understand causes you to gain weight. I would appreciate any help, reading this forum is sometimes overwhelming, but I want to start out with the best product so that I will be successful. Please, I only want to hear from people with real life experiences and not advertisers to push their product, I need opinions from people who have done it and know.

Welcome to the forum.

I've read in a few threads where people did not gain any weight and then a few people who said they did, and one person who said she lost many pounds due to some of the dessert flavor juices. It sounds like those juices helped her from consuming food that would cause her to gain weight.

In any case this forum is filled with people who are willing to help you. Since being a member here I've not seen anyone try to push a particular supplier on anyone. Most of the suppliers that you see listed if I'm not mistaken have been approved by the forum admins.

Good luck

tiredmimi I actually lost a few pounds after I started vaping. I got some Tastyfinger from Tasty Vapor and that curbed my chocolate cravings lol.

OK here we go:

Device: Get an Ego. Dont even think about anything else right now. The Ego is the perfect starter e cig and its one you will use for years to come...even if you purchase other things.

Juice: to start off with you don't know what nic level will be right for you. Its different for everyone. So purchase several different juices of various nicotine levels to try them out. Do NOT feel bad if you dont find the juice that is right for you on the first try. The vast majority of us dont.

also, dont pressure yourself into quitting analog cigarettes the second the e cig arrives.

Charge it up, test it out, try a few things, learn to use it.

Then try to see how long you can go with just the e cig.

Once you find the right juice for you, you wont even want a real cigarette.

Lastly, here are a few vendors BUT shop around because different vendors have different sales running almost weekly AND ask on the forums here about coupon codes for discounts. There may be better deals out there right now. So be sure to shop around.

Liberty Flights

Nicotine Nirvana
FreedomSmokeUSA

Juices

Tasty Vapor
Backwoods Brew
VaporBomb
Ms T's Bakery

These are all vendors I have ordered from in the past and have had good experiences with

A few details would be very helpful:
How much do you smoke?
Do you care if it looks like a real cig?

As far as the weight gain, it seems most people don't really gain as they're not trying to satisfy nicotine craving with food. I personally didn't gain any weight at all.

Throat hit is going to be more about the type of juice you're using. Higher nicotine combined with a PG heavy blend ( I'd recommend about an 80/20 mix or even 90/10) is what's going to give that hit.
