I spent 4 months trying to find a good tobacco flavor to replace my Camels.

4 months wasted. I finally realized that artificial tobacco flavors SUCK, and that what I really wanted was something that tasted nothing at all like tobacco. Mints are what did it for me.

My advice would be to try something other than tobacco flavors. What is your favorite candy? Give that a try. You may find it easier to quit if you disassociate the vaping with tobacco entirely.

And if your absolutely determined to find a good tobacco flavor, search online for NET juices. NET = Naturally Extracted Tobacco flavors. Made from the real thing, not food flavors mixed to try to mimic tobacco.
Agreed! I just couldn't do the tobacco flavors either. I needed sweet fruit or candy flavors with nicotine.

Experiment outside of the box, OP! You just may be surprised.

Ok, got a sampler from want2vape. A few cigar styles with extracted tobacco flavors, a few cigarette flavors and I few less candyish non-traditional flavors. We'll see how that goes. I hear their signature blends are pretty good pipe/cigar flavors too, so I may try those later.

I cleaned out my clearomizer with rinsing, ever clear, re-rinsing and dry burning and that seemed to get rid of the scorched taste. Does this work on blank carts too? They have such a different construction that I kind of doubt it. I have some god awful ry4 in one that I'd like removed lol. On the subject of carts, what are some good 808 carts aside from v2? I like their convenience when I'm out on the town etc. Convenience and size are why I went with an 808 battery over something more elaborate...well that and some mods look like the user's taking a breathalyzer test every time they hit it! Maybe one day I'll go with one a bit fancier for home, but for now I'm good with the v2 or the hardwired v2 plugged into the USB adapter.

No don't dry burn cartos. Cartos don't use silica they use a type of cloth mesh material. Cartos and those e-smart clearos are disposable. You can dry burn the clearo but they will go bad eventually. So when your carto gets clogged up I would just throw them away. There may be a way to clean them but I don't know it. I really haven't used a cart in close to a year. Buying disposables ie cart or clearos is not the cheapest way to vape but its still way cheaper then analogs. As time goes, if you don't want to go to a mod apv mech or such. You may want to go to ego style and vivi nova or protank 2. Even though they are not sold as not rebuildables they can be rebuilt with a little youtube viewing.

interesting. Still have a lot to learn I guess. I was in a hurry and forgot to check if my local tobacco store even carried cartos or clearomizers. Wish I would have. I hate paying shipping on these little things, especially when I'm sourcing bits from many different sites. I honestly haven't even looked into tanks or anything yet...don't really know much about the higher end stuff. I just wanted off of analogs (still getting used to the lingo as well lol) and knew something that was similar in size, feel and convenience would be my best bet, but something I could use for longer than 10 or so refills would be nice. Thanks for all the help everyone

We have all been exactly where you are now. If there's a term that you don't understand just ask. No bad questions in ecf just one's that aren't asked

Here's a few links so you can see what I'm referring to. I went to a few of my go to places but do some research on pricing and products

Kanger Evod Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes Awesome customer service lots of juice to chose from great prices
Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit I don't think I have bought for these guys but heard nothing bad
This one below is a variable voltage model it will allow you to change taste and vapor.
Joyetech Joye eGo-C Twist Variable Voltage 1000mAh Battery top rate customer service good guys good prices

A few clearos you can look at too

I assume I need a bigger battery to go rebuildable? If I were to get something bigger ,to say sit on my coffee table since the v2 is better for taking out, what should I be looking at? I don't want to spend a ton on new equipment since I've been dropping more on this than I did on "analogs". I'd want something I could attach a tank onto that would allow for easier switching between flavors. I think I found a couple "every day juices" from Johnson creek... Domestic and Tennessee are both really good...but they seem to gunk up clearomizers pretty fast. I was looking at bottom coil 808 clearomizers but figure I'd look into something more advanced and fill cartos for the road.

The evod was in the running for my first purchase but it looked too big for what I wanted. Would it work for a variety of tanks?

Yes the ego style batteries will take ego cone threading and 510 connected devices. 510 is widely used and easy to buy a topper(tank, carto etc.) for. They are bigger but I just took a 3" piece of 2 x 4 and drilled a few holes so my ego's fit in there and stood upright. Lots of juices clog up your coils. Vg tends to clog them up faster then pg. For me it's a issue because I'm a vg guy. I prefer vapor to throat hit. Your 808 cartos will not fit on ego without a 808 to 510 adapter. You don't need to go rebuildable but if this is a route you think you may go ego is not the battery you should use. I would suggest looking at a smoktech sid they are about 40-50 bucks but then you need batteries and a good charger about another 40 bucks. The sid gives you good bang for your dollar. It will ck ohms on your clearo cart etc. it has more power or voltage settings. This you will be able to do rebuildables with. I think you will get a large bump up just doing a ego and a tank. Evod is a ego battery but if your going with a different tank just buy ego battery and a ego charger. 30 bucks or so for both. I hope this isn't confusing

One of these will do nicely too
http://101vape.com/variable-voltagewattage-devices/148-innokin-itaste-mvp-v20.html They are sold out here but google it if this works. Not expensive, I've never owned a box type mod but I don't hear allot of problems with them. They have a battery installed. So no need to buy batteries

Well, after considering all of the advice I went all in and picked up a itaste vv v3 and a variety of tanks and direct drip atomizers. I've been off "analogs" for over a week but some of the hassle with my 808s was driving me to consider getting a pack. Figured I'd empty my nicotine budget and get something that would be more satisfying all at the same time. Thanks for all the advice!

OK, time for an update...I finally found a good tank/battery combo. I picked up a iTaste vv v3 from Mt baker and (amongst other varying tanks) a Raven hybrid carto-tank. Man this cartomizer tank is great. It uses a special cart that's almost more like a standard bcc head. It doesn't leak or ever gurgle like my other bccs tho. It also produces fantasic vapor and flavor unlike some others as well. I just ordered a few more carto tanks (one more less fancy Raven and a boge f16) the Raven uses the standard hybrid carts as well as f16 or smok carts. I know this is a bit rambling but I've been using my phone for posting and can only see about 2 lines at a time lol.

As for liquid I've found a few non tobacco flavors that aren't too bad but I'm still using Johnson Creek for the most part. I've got some backwoods brew coming tomorrow so I'm hoping that they are comparable to JC.
