Welcome, Marvin, and congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. vaping can definitely be overwhelming at first; like you said, there are so many products out there and it can be difficult knowing where to start. It will help you a lot to understand the types of e-cigs out there and some basic terminology before making a purchase. You've already tried the mini (pen), and I'm not surprised you weren't satisfied with it. I tried one initially and found it to be a waste of my money. You should either try a mid-size or a mod. The mid-size is larger than a mini but is still relatively small and thin, so it's not as bulky as a mod. It has longer battery life and stronger vapor production, so it should satisfy your cravings more. I personally use a mod, and it helped me quit smoking completely. They are a little intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. It's kind of like a mid-size on steroids hahaha; strongest battery life and strongest vape production of the three. You'll also get features such as being able to control the wattage and voltage, which is nice.
Wattage= battery power. The higher the wattage, the stronger the hit and the larger the cloud.
Voltage= the electrical pressure that sends power to the atomizer (the tank part of your e-cig)
Ohm= the amount of resistance to the voltage pressure. Higher ohm means more resistance which means smaller hit.
If you want, check out my blog entry, "vaping 101: Terminology" at megsyclouds.wordpress.com. I basically explain all of the common terminology that I had trouble understanding when I first started vaping.
I'd recommend going to a vape shop and having staff help you choose a model and show you how to use it. Also, you might be happier starting off with a 12mg nic since the 6 isn't satisfying you.
Good luck!
