Hello Everyone!

I've just found this forum and i'm finding it very helpful! I quit smoking "analogs" for nearly a month now after receiving a KR808D-1 from ecigarettescanada. I've been researching a number of different vaporizers and mods and I'm looking for feedback on how to get the best experience from my e-cigs.

I've been using cartomizers right from the start with my 808 (with automatic batteries). I've been filling them using the cart condom method but I've been finding that the taste and vapor aren't as noticeable anymore. If there are any mods or alternatives that would temporarily fix it please let me know. I've ordered the new ceramic E2 carts and I'm wondering if anyone has tried them or noticed any differences.

After reading some reviews I decided to order the 510 with manual batteries and a personal charging case. I enjoy the fact that I can carry around the e-cigs and use them like regular cigarettes at work (since i'm still in the quitting stages) but I believe that I mighty order an EGO in the near future to use at home and to try the drip methods. Is it worth it for to switch to the EGO style or should I just stick with the 808/510 ones?

Thanks for all the feedback and glad to be in the forum!

Absolutely!! Depending on how much you're vaping, an eGo will last you anywhere from 4-16 hrs. I already had the 510 and the Mega 510 while I was in the "quitting stages". There's something about the security of knowing your PV will last you through the day that makes it happen. It wasn't until I got my eGo that I really got serious about giving up the analogs for good.

I started with a KR8 about 3 weeks ago. I chose it because it has better battery life than the standard 510 and I wanted the convenience of cartomizers rather than atomizers and carts. I find it very easy to use and I am surviving well with just 2 standard size batteries. What I did not account for was the fact that trying new juices requires a new carto for each juice and if you don't like it, you have wasted a carto. They can be cleaned but can't be used for a different juice immediately. I ordered more blank cartos but I have a bunch of different juices now from several vendors as well as buying lots of juice from the classifieds here on ECF. Right now I have like 6 or 7 cleaned cartos waiting for juice trials but after that, it is another round of cleaning or ordering more blanks.

Because of this, I have just ordered an Ego. The new Ego kits that I have seen are shipping with drip tips and adapters to use 808 cartos on the Ego battery. So, it works out for me all around. I can use the 510 atomz to drip new flavors and then fill cartos and use them with the Ego battery using the included adapter. It sounds like that may be a good option for you as well.

I ordered my Ego kit from newhaler.com but they are now out of stock. (Because I posted on here that their kits are $35 shipped lol). Their kits have the drip tip and adapter as mentioned above. I know I saw these options in Ego kits from another retailer as well but right now I can't seem to find who it was. If I find it I will post back here. Either way, I don't think they were as cheap as newhaler was. Maybe someone else knows?

Just wanted to give a heads up on this...I just went to the site to check out what they had and I'm hoping that you were not expecting a Genuine Joyetech product as what newhaler.com is calling an Ego, is identical to the Riva. Even looks like the same rubber button instead of the plastic type that Joye was using. Lastly, I've ordered enough Riva's for friends / family that I know exactly what their packaging looks like...and newhaler has Riva packaging :D

I shot them an email as well to let them know that selling a product that isn't what it is may not be such a wise idea if just starting out in the business. The Riva is still a stand-up product, but if someone was expecting a genuine Joye product, then they might be a little upset by getting a Riva instead.

Just my $.02 :D

I still am using my kr8 and it has worked out just fine. You don't HAVE to use a clean carto when changing flavors, sometimes the combos of liquids are quite good. When the cartos start becoming hard to draw or not producing enough vapor after being filled, then it usually is a sign that the carto needs cleaning. I have about 25 or so cartos and I will clean them about every two weeks.

I will say OP, if you don't have a passthrough, you should get one. I love mine and it is easy to use sitting at the computer. I also like the manual battery better than the automatic one.

Sounds like I'll be getting an EGO pretty soon then :) I've seen the adaptors for swapping different battery/carto combinations so this way my carts won't be a waste.

What's the best way to clean those KR808 cartridges? I've just popped off the white cap & silicone disk to take a look inside of it, but I haven't taken out the filler or anything. I've only had these cartomizers for a little while but I've already noticed that refilling them with the same liquid does not give the same taste/vapor as the original pre-fill even with it's first refill. Any ideas or is it just the fact that the cart is prefilled and I shouldn't be trying to refill them?

Also: Is it possible that I "burnt" the cartomizer so the flavor/vapor is history?
