Hello all--

I'm a 1/2-to-PAD smoker of American Spirit Yellows for the last 6 years. I quit once a couple of years ago, and told my daughter (11 y/o, who didn't know I smoked) that I was quitting. It lasted about 6 weeks. Well, last week, she asked me, "Daddy, have you been smoking again? You smell like smoke..." You know that sinking feeling.

The last few weeks, I've been smoking a PAD or more. Yuck. Hate waking up with the feeling that Fidel Castro took a dump in my mouth. A co-worker got an eCig last week (Premium KR8, I think); I wasn't too impressed after taking a drag, but it got me thinking and reading on ECF.

I've decided to order an eGo T (type B) from Cignot (good reviews for this supplier) and some juice sample kits from FreedomSmokes (good variety+price) and give this thing a try. I'm listening to all the advice that said to skip over the analog look-a-likes and go right for a more serious setup. Maybe this is overkill, but I imagine I'd end up going for an eGo eventually. Perhaps I won't end up wanting tanks, but at least I guess I can always go with cartomizers if I want. I really like the design simplicity of the eGo-T, even if it doesn't look like a "cigarette." I'd likely go with a 510, but my concerns are having to refill the tank/cart multiple times while at work and battery life. Probably better off not smoking something that looks like a cigarette, anyhow...

Things I'm looking forward to:

-being able to keep on "smoking" without lung cancer
-not having to hide my "smoking" from family
-not having to roll my car windows down to "smoke" in the winter (it's cold here!)
-not smelling/tasting like smoke all the time, especially after a night at the local watering hole
-not feeling dragged down all the time from everything that comes with the nicotine in a regular smoke

Thanks to all who have posted advice & reviews here, as well as those who give their time to keep the forum running!

Chief W. (a character as clueless as I would be without ECF!!!)

Grats!! I recommend you also get a standard 510 atomizer and a 510 drip tip (for testing juices), and some Boge 510 cartomizers and learn to use those. That way even if you have atomizer problems you will have the cartomizers as a backup way to vape. Also I recommend cartomizer for any cinnamon flavors (eat plastic) and for any clingy flavors you don't want in your atomizers.

Congratulations and a big ol welcome to ECF.

Have you ordered your kit yet? As dormouse said, cartomizers!!! They are a gift from above! You might find just starting out around the house and all the sample juices you'll be getting you might enjoy dripping at first. If you don't know, that's dropping 2-4 drops just on the atomizer, vaping that flavor and often switching the flavor when you need to drip again. You get about 5-6 drags when you drip. It is the way to go before you commit a flavor into a cartomizer. Gotta make sure you like it right?

Congrats.. You've gained a lot of knowledge for this early on.. I had to take on a mentor :)

I went to the ego-T from a gifted set of egos. It's been working well, but some caveats.. if the juice is thick, the hole that get's might not enough flow. I punched them to use thicker juice, but thin juice will leak like a sieve. Easy to fill and go, but leakage can be an issue you should be aware of.

Good luck, see you at the one month mark ;)

Hello and welcome. I have yet to dive in because I'm still doing the research. So far, it looks like the best set up for me is going to be the Joye eGo and a sample pack from Halo. I will go check out FreedomSmokes right now because I haven't been there yet. Research, Research, Research! Good luck to you and keep us up-to-date.

I am currently using an ego-t type b from mikeusa.com, it has been GREAT the past couple days!!! I have had issues with cartridges that i bought from other sites that came in a white box, maybe they were fakes. The tanks that came in the joyetech boxes havent leaked and i have been very happy. DO NOT FORCE THE TANKS IN!!!

I've been using type B's for quite some time now and really enjoy them. I've really only had success with them using PG liquid though which got me away from them for awhile as I really wanted to vape VG liquid because I felt it had more vapor production. Very clean, easy to use and provide a good amount of liquid as opposed to dripping, or tube style tanks which are quite gaudy in my opinion.

I probably use them most when I'm going to be out somewhere and know that I will be vaping for an audience as I prefer the look of the tanks and a matched battery to a mod and a large atomizer/mod where some could assume your smoking a vibrator or other ridiculous observations.

But anyway, good choice. Wish I would have started with as much knowledge as the OP seems to have so early in my vaping career. Lot of trial and error and wasted money could have saved.

BTW, while I've been a member for well over a year, this is only my second post (my first preceding this by about 5 minutes) and just want to say I love this forum. Never did any posting but I've done a lot of reading. guess it's time to start talking now.
