Hello from Michigan. I've been vaping for about 2 months now and quit smoking 6 weeks ago. I come here to find answers as I dont know anyone else that vapes and the closest shop is 30 miles away. Its been a bit of a steep learning curve. I started with a simple CE5 then went to a Kanger MPT2 with a 1100 ma vision spinner. After weeks of dry/burnt hits and constant sore thoat with the MPT2 I started rebuilding coils with 28 and 32 ga kenthal, still had problems then went with an EVOD until dry hits with that too. I then just got a simple mini dripper clone, then to an old style drip atomizer. Finally some flavor! It seems I had to go backwards to "taste my juice".
I did find I have to constantly prime my MPT2 and loosen the top to let the bubbles out and juice in. Thank you to who everyone here that posted that tip. I'm seriously looking to get an Aspire Nautilus untill I see today a thread here in the new members area about dry hits. I just want a good solid, full of taste vape without all the fiddling and rebuilding.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hey Xaviour
Welcome to the ECF

there is nothing wrong with dripping and a lot of people are doing RDA's now with their mods

the dry hits maybe from chain vaping too quickly (you can cold pull to draw more eliquid into the wick- ie: take a draw with out hitting the fire button), too thick of eliquid (high vg %) or too high of voltage

just my suggestions

if you're getting a lot of dry/burnt hits you may be using a thicker juice.. try opening the tank and turning the little grommet on the center post upside down so it cups up instead of down.. going down it can push down on the wicks and cut off juice flow. Problem is it can lead to leaks if your juice isn't thick enough or if you chain vape to vigorously. I don't know much about aspire products, I liked the look of kanger and went with them.

Thanks K702, yep tried flipping the gasket, cutting slots in it and even removing it :) Best luck seemed to be a micro coil with organic cotton and no flavor wicks. I love the look of the kanger pt2 mini I just want it to work right. I tried my hand at a genesis clone but Im not very good at making a coil on mesh that doesn't get hot spots.
