New member with questions about vaporizers

Hello all.
I, along with my husband, are new to vaping. About 2 weeks ago we purchased the KangerTech EVOD. Love the unit and find it great for a beginner. My hubby needed more so he went to get a Joytech eGrip this weekend.
Problem. Both our units seems to have issues or perhaps WE are the issues! My EVOD seems to 'leak' fluid into the mouthpiece while my husbands eGrip is leaking out of the air hole on the bottom, profusely! Lost a ton of juice!
Any suggestions for us newbies...did we break our new toys already?

Is your husband using the rebuildable head on the eGrip or the one that uses the stock coils? (Does he have to make coils for it and wick it with his own cotton, or is the coil just something that screws into the head?)

If it is the rebuildable head, he might not be using enough cotton on the wick, or might not be wicking it right. If you search "egrip" in the forum, there are a couple of threads where people discuss wicking the eGrip's rebuildable head. I have never used the stock head for the eGrip, just the rebuildable, so I don't want to speculate on it. Other people will be by soon I'm sure who know more about it than I do. If it is a bunch of juice leaking out, though, it is possible that the head isn't tightened all the way down. In my experience, the eGrip wants to be tightened all the way down…it will stop when it can't go any further, if it is a little bit loose it tends to leak out the little airflow screw hole.

I doubt that either of you have broken anything. There is just a learning curve, and some equipment can be fiddly. You'll get it, though, don't worry. This is a great place to ask questions.

Your tanks are flooding, probably either from overfilling, getting juice in the chimney (the hollow tube in the middle) or from drawing too hard. Take xtra care when filling it up to avoid the overfilling and take slow, gentle draws when vaping. Don't suck hard like you do with a cigarette. To clear out the juice that has already leaked, take the tank off, hold a tissue or paper towel over the base and blow gently through the drip tip. Twist the paper towel or tissue and clean out he inside of the base, then use it or a Q-Tip to clean the juice off the top of your battery. This should help clear up the problem.
