Hi there. I am new to vaping. Before, I smoked quite a bit for about a year with regular cigs but heard good things about e cigs so I went to my local tobacco shop and the only one they had was a cig2o. I got the starter kit with two batteries, some cartomizers, and a USB/Wall charger. That was about two months ago.

I can say I definitely enjoy the e cig much more than regular cigs but I have a few issues.

1. I was told each cartomizer is equal to about a pack and a half, yet it doesn't seem like that to me at all. I don't even smoked that much but after about 5-7 sessions it starts with the "burned" taste that it said it gets when it's empty. I make sure to keep my e cigs always charged, is this normal?

2. I have had two cartridges seemingly have nothing in them. Last pack I bought one of them when I try to suck in all I get is air, made sure my e cigs were charged and tried another cartomizer and it worked fine. Today I bought another pack and the same thing happened, it was even the first one I got out, yet again when I got the second cartomizer out it was fine. Anyone else have this happen?

3. A friend told me that the liquid e cigs are much better, but I don't know anything about them, any recommendations?

Thanks!

Hello Josh,

Here is the Cig2o Website if you want to see what else that company sells and what their online direct prices are like- Home | Cig2o Online

A lot of these companies say their cartridges are equivalent to a pack or a pack and a half of smokes, most folks agree they are NOT.

As far as the 2 cartridges you got that were "empty", I would assume they were. Sometimes they just don't end up getting filled and they somehow find their way into the packages. If I was you I would complain about that and you might be able to get a couple replaced.

As far as your "liquid E cigs" question goes- all E Cigs are based on using liquids. That's the stuff that turns into vapor that we inhale.

Your friend was right about one thing though. There are a lot better E Cigs than the one you have. Take a look around this forum and see what other folks are talking about. There are a lot of "systems" around and most are relatively cheap if you know what you need and you purchase them on line from a reliable company.

1. The vendors that say one cartomizer will equal a pack of smokes or more are either lying or ignorant on the subject. I would say one carto equals 4-5 cigs.

2. buying a 5 pack of cartos it is common to have one be DOA, especially when buying cheaper stuff... like what a smoke shop probably sells. Even boge or smoktech cartos you will get one DOA from time to time, it happens.

3. I am not familiar with Liquid brand e-cigs so I cant comment on them. I would take anything anyone tells you with a huge grain of salt unless you feel they really know what they talk about.

You are on ECF so you are in the right place. I recommend that you buy your own cartomozers online, they will be $6-8 for a 5 pack, and then buy your own juice to refill them as you can refill them over and over again, saving you a bunch of money.

There are numerous threads in the new member forum here, many people will have asked the questions you have, feel free to look or use the search box to find info. If you cant find the answer to a question just ask and many people would be happy to help you out.

Welcome , and as was said already . Don't get sucked into buying the cheap stuff from vendors , 7/11 , smoke shops , the mall , etc. Go online and look at all the better devices , that probably are about the same as what your paying for junk. And my 2nd bit of advice , would be to lose those cartridges all together . Buy some good carto's ( Boge's ) or similar , and some juice . That way you can fill your own ( lots cheaper ) There are lots of juice vendors that sell little 3ml sample sizes . Those are the best to try out a juice , to see if you like it . If not , your not out much money . Good Luck

These are common complaints on cartomizers.
(1) I have found that each one is equal to about 5-7 cigs
(2) It is possible that the center post on the cartomizer is pushed in too far. Try pulling it up just a little bit, not much or you might pull it out too far and ruin it.

(3)Some people (like me) do not like the taste that the fill in a cartomizer gives to the e-liquid so we use clearomizers which I think is what your friend was talking about. You will need an 808-510 adapter to use them on a cig2go battery, also you need to get the 2.8 ohm version as lower ohms will not work well with that battery. They are larger than a normal cartomizer and work better with larger size batteries such as a KGO/EGO style or larger.

Go online and order and eGo Twist and charger. I think some vendors are finally selling kits...price check around. Also get yourself some Boge 3ohm 510 cartomizers (blank/empty), a 510/901 drip tip or 2, and a couple of 3ohm 510 atomizers for testing liquids. Now pick out some flavors and get them somewhere around 18-24mg in strength.

If you choose to go this route, when it arrives, blow out your atomizers into a paper towel. Test your juices by dripping 3-4 drops...if it seems harsh at first, add a couple more drops. You don't need to do this with cartomizers...just fill and vape them...they take about 30 drops to fill when new. Only use the cartomizers for flavors you like...and yes, you can refill these with the same flavor.
