Hello, I am a new member, and new to the world of e-cigarettes. I have been smoking cigarettes for approximately 13 years and think it's about time I quit, for my health and longetivity. I heard an ad on the radio about a week ago for a free e-cigarette, and was interested in ordering but had reservations because I wasn't sure of the cost of supplies after the initial order. I started doing research which led me to this website.

I have been looking at e-cigs online for a couple of days now, but haven't purchased one because I just haven't found the right one that strikes me as sexy, slim and feminine. They all seem so "butch" or ugly. I know I should put health before beauty, but I can be so vain at times. Also, while some of the websites look nicely done, I'm not sure about the reputation of the people behind the storefront. I don't want to get ripped off on my first purchase which may turn me off to the whole e-cig idea before I even get started.

I've been reading the forum off and on over the last few days and wanted to introduce myself: Hello everyone. I'm sure that I will find a wealth of information here (maybe an overload), and hopefully meet some nice people online who can help me make the most of my e-cig experience and let me get free of regular cigarettes for good.

Thank you,
Pamela

Hello :) and Welcome to ECF.

I started vaping the week of 10/31/10. My 1st purchase was a Joye 510 no box kit from Cignot.com. The ladies there are some of the best all around. I upgraded to an EGO 2 weeks later and haven't looked back since. I bought that from LiteCigUSA.com. Again, wonderful service. I've used Liberty Flights for cartomizers. My main juice suppliers are Backwoods Brew, Johnson Creek, FreedomUSA. These are just a few of the wonderful, reliable vendors available to us. You will get an 'overload' but take your time. It will be worth it. :)

WELCOME Pamela!

You will never run out of good information on ECF. If not for them, I would not have jumped in to give ecigs a try. It certainly helped to show me that I was not alone as well as being able to find out how 'things worked.' LOL, the mechanics of it made me unnecessarily anxious.

Although today's my 1st day as an ECF member, I've been lurking a year February.
Began using ecig on March 10/10 {almost a year!} Smoke free since 3pm that day. AMAAAAZING.

You've absolutely nothing to lose to try. Like me and thousands of others, you just might be pleasantly surprised :)

I have to agree there, they have excellent prices and fast shipping. You can also look into blinging your PV. I have a plain black set and it looks like a pen. I ordered the whistle tip from cignot and I like the feel better with those.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

And definitely DO NOT order from a company that has recurring charges. It's a scam.

At a minimun I would suggest getting an eGo or Riva 510 kit since is has a better battery than the mini's and they do come in different colors. If looks are more important than performance, then I would suggest a regular 510. At least it is better than the mini's. Make sure you get manual (small button) batteries not auto's unless you like frustration and inconsistency. Most new vapers need 18-24mg nicotine strength liquid to make a successful transition.

Liberty Flights, Nhaler and Awsome Vapor are all good, reputable suppliers. Actually any of the suppliers on this forum must do a fairly good job or you would get many posts on here telling us all they aren't doing well.

Good Luck

Hi PAMELA0828 , I have only been vaping for one week but i can tell you this,it is great to not smell like an ashtray, or freeze my .... off outside.I also wanted something that resembled a cigerette look. I bought a kit that uses the kr808d-1 battery and cartomizers. ( 2 piece unit ) the cartomizers were pre flavored . I like this set up so far but most of all it has worked for me.

my first day using it i had 3 reg cigerettes -- 2nd day 1 cigg -- 3rd day to present o cigg

Thank you everyone for the wonderful welcomes, and suggesstions so far. I currently smoke Virginia Slim or Misty 120's. I never liked the brown look of More cigs as they look like cigars. Is there an e-cigarette in the 120mm length? Even if it wasn't as "slim" as the Virgina Slim or Misty's, I'd like to at least see what they look like.

Thank you,
Pamela

My cousin had the same issue. I think she even smoked the same cigarettes. Initially she went withe the Joye 510 with a mega battery. "Mega" is a bit of a misnomer, or at least relative, but the battery does last a bit longer. She got one black and one stainless and loves them. She looked at the Mod Forum here and dressed up her black one with a decal and an earcuff. While she is thinking about moving up to an Ego (nice thing is most of the parts are compatible with the Joye 510) but is pretty sure she will stick with the others for "public" use-- her words not mine. Welcome and enjoy!
