Hi and welcome :)
I hear a lot of folks "quitting" smoking and winding up putting a lot of unnecessary pressure on themselves. I never actually quit myself and, in fact, have a full pack of smokes in the house. It's been several months since I actually smoked one and have no desire to but..........if I do, I will have failed nothing. I smoked steadily for 45+ years and every day I don't smoke is a bonus.
Get some good gear and juices you like and you'll probably just stop.
I wish you the best of luck
Take it easy :)

Really good advice. Just take it day by day. I have a friend that I switched to vaping 18 months ago. He still has a carton in his freezer and a open pack of cigars on his coffee table. I kept 8 packs in my work truck for 6 months and finally gave the last pack away, after I knew I'd never smoke them. Make sure you start out with a high enough mg to satisfy your cravings. Good Luck

Thanks, Jericoriver. :) My frustration lately isn't the nicotine level, but the e-cigs themselves. They don't put out much vapor, and I'm constantly having to charge them. Then there are the attys, which I've destroyed trying to clean them. I've been researching again for a better e-cig and am thinking about getting the Volt or the eGo. Haven't made up my mind yet, though.

Deb, it sounds like we have a lot in common. I just started vaping 12 days ago. I told myself when I started that I wasn't going to torture myself. If I wanted a cigarette, I'd have one. My last one was Sunday afternoon. But I've quit more times than I can count, up to several years at a time. My husband also smokes. He seems interested in my ecigs, even told someone on the golf course who asked if that was "one of those electronic cigarettes" that I was the guinea pig, LOL. I'm hoping he'll give it a try eventually. He's tried mine twice. Apparently he prefers analogs. At any rate, we can both do this :)

Congrats on your progress, Catmom! :) The first week is the hardest. Once you get past that milestone, it gets better. I hope your hubs will give it a try because that will make the quitting process so much easier for both of you. I'm still trying to work on my husband, but I don't know if he'll ever quit.

Quitting smoking with the e-cig has proven to be the best alternative to cold turkey, gums, patches and pills . . . at least for me. I'm amazed by all of the success stories that I've read on this forum and will refer to them again when I begin my second round of quitting.
