To start off I have been smoking for about 10 years. I enjoy smoking menthols but I do smoke others when I run out. I am trying to quit and have not smoked for about 24 hours (Not much, but I can feel it). I have been reading around on the forum and after doing some research it seems as a newbie the ego c twist is the way to go. I don't know where to start. I cannot find any type of starter kit. I am not sure exactly what I need or where to make the purchase. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

I recommend 2 Ego Twist variable voltage batteries (which together will last you over an entire day between charges), an Ego charger, a USB wall adaptor, and 3 clearomizers and 5 cartomizers to trial to see which juice delivery system you prefer. Look up demo videos for "filling a vision clearomizer" or "filling a cartomizer" to learn how to fill these with liquid.

I tend to not like "starting kits" because they often include useless stuff. I believe buying piecemeal to get just what you need. Altsmoke sells genuine original manufacturer gear, no knockoff brands.

Next you will need to order some e-liquid from any of the two recommended juice vendors listed below (figure on at least 3ml used a day = 90 ml/month). Estimate that the 3 clearomizers and 5 cartomizers should last you at least for the month.

You need not place your order with the these vendors, they are only recommended by myself as an example of an ideal and inexpensive starters kit that you can buy online.

The following components from Altsmoke can be obtained for less than $100 before tax and shipping charges (Juice not included):

Juice 18-24mg nicotine strength. recommended. Figure 3-5 ml used per day. Recommend buying sampler packs to test flavors to avoid spending money on flavors you may not like. Once you find some you do like, order more in larger quantity. The below vendors are an example of juice vendors that offer sampler packs to try:

Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Vaperite | E Liquid Flavors and Organic E Cigarette Liquid

Baditude has given you superb recommendations. (I don't own an ego twist, but that will be my next purchase). I think the ego twist will be very satisfying to you. Also, he has given you excellent recommendatons regarding other equipment and nictotine strength. As you browse this forum, you will find a wealth of information and suggestions, along with juice recommendations. Presently, Baditude has given you enough to get you an excellent start. Stay with the forum...it will keep you going. Congratulations on your decision to rid yourself of the analogs. :thumb:

Thanks for the quick replies. Which options should I choose for the clearomizers and the cartomizers? There are many flavors and I know they are subjective to each individuals taste; however, can you please reccommend some flavors?

Being new, I'd recommend a variety of flavors, since you may very well not know what you will like. Pick a couple of tobacco flavors, a couple of candy or sweets, a couple of fruit or drink flavors, a couple of coffee flavors. I personally like the coffee flavors the best, but also like some fruits to break my vape flavors up during the day. Being a former menthol smoker, I like Ice Menthol, too.

My all time favorite flavor can be found at Virgin Vapors, Kona Velvet Milkshake. To me it tastes like a fine coffee shop's Mocha Frappe. I also very much like the Kona Cream and Double Espresso at Vaperite.

I found a local shop and the staff was very freindly. They let me try a a lot of differnet combinations. I ended up getting a ego twist and viva nova. I got juice with 6mg strength and it still seems to be harsh to me. I can feel it in the back of my throat. I am not sure if there is a remmedy for that or should I go with 0mg. So far I have not felt like smoking a ciggarette and I hope I never will. Thank you for all the help.

I wouldnt go to 0mg right away. It takes a little while to get used to vaping. Draw the vape into your mouth. Then inhale slowly. Exhale. If it hits the throat and you don't like that feeling. Just hold in your mouth and try exhaling through your nose and mouth. The nic is absorbed mostly through the membranes in the mouth and nasal passages. Try different ways to vape. There are YouTube vids that you could watch. Explore and learn.

I inhale usually when I have the trigger moments when I want a cig. First waking up, after a meal, when I haven't been able to vape because I'm in a dentist chair

I will be giving my current set up to my cousin. Looks like I have converted him as well. I have been researching the lavatube and it looks promising. Any thoughts on them? What is the difference between the lambo and young june versions? Where can I purchase these? I have the viva nova currently. Will it work on the lavatube as well or is there a better one?
