Hi everyone,

This is a great forum. Out of all the searches that I've done in the last 2 weeks, I've found that this forum returns the most hits regarding just about every vaping subject there's out there. So, this is a really excellent community, and I'm really happy to join it.

So, I've been vaping on and off for the last year, until recently, I've decided to really devote myself to vaping and get off analogs.

I've been using ego c 650 batts and DCTs. The flavor has been pretty good, but since I've restarted vaping, the 4 batts I have have really not been doing it for me. 2-3 hours each and I've been recharging like crazy.

So, I decided to go on a shopping spree......

So, I got a Swig varivolt, and then a Vamo v3, and then, after reading all the forums, I went for the ProVari mini....
And, of course, no shopping spree would be complete without a few Novas and ProTank 2s, some juice, and some flavors, and some PG/VG liquid for making your own juice, and wicks and kanthal wire to rebuild those protank heads....

Don't ask how much it all cost..... but still cheaper than what I spend on cigs in a single month...

Maybe I'm nuts, but I can't take analogs anymore..... just started to feel disgusted every single time I have one, and feeling really good when I was vaping.

So, the question I have for everyone out there, what other glass tanks with RBAs have people used and liked besides the Protank 2s?

Thank you in advance for any responses.

Cheers.

Welcome, can't help ya with any suggestions. I was kinda thinking you might be able to make some recommendations, you already got more hardware than I have! You are in the right place either way though.

Hey Jwaterski, thanks for the welcome :) The egos have been working out really well for me, but I decided that I need to go with something more robust. The vamo v3 looked like it got good reviews from many people. Yes, the quality is somewhat hit or miss, some DOAs, but the functionality looks really good. And the ProVari mini looks like a god choice to take with you when you leave the house.

I did look at the z-atty pro, but it leaks if you don't place it vertically - definitely not something to take with you, but the coils and the wicks seem to last a lifetime - it's really expensive though - $140 a pop (for a tank), but really high quality.

I don't have all my hardware yet, but decided it was time to go for the more expensive setup - Vamo for the backup and at home and the ProVari for on the go - don't know what I will do with the Swig, will probably sell it.

Yes, I have 2 of the original Kanger Pro tanks. Stem busted on the base of one and they do not dis-assemble for easy cleaning. After I got my 1st Kangar Pro Tank 2......well the rest is history! Have 4 of them, they totally dis-assemble, you can get replacement parts for the base and glass tank, you can switch out the drip tips, it's just a really solid tank. Clean your tank, or any topper you get thoroughly before you use it! No rubber taste.
I switched out the wicks on about 30+ 2.2ohm PT2 heads with cotton, ie, bulk cotton. Big vape clouds.
Seriously, if you have to choose between the 2, go PT2. And there's enough of us with them so if you have any problems, we can address them!:)
Vape Dojo has the glass tank replacement constantly, only place I could find not continually out of stock, base is easy to find as is coils.

Thank you for the tip on the cleaning. Do you just run everything under water and dry it out or do you soak it in water (or something else - I've read about people using wine and white vinegar in 1:1 ratio to get rid of the metallic taste)?

So, do you do a micro coil and then cotton wick through? I've seen a few different ways of doing it:
1. Micro coil, cotton wick - the wick does not last very long, but they are easy to change out
2. 2mm wick with a few wraps of wire around the wick with 2 x 1mm flavor wicks on top - this seems to be the factory setup as well
3. 3mm wick with a few wraps of wire around it - seems to work without the flavor wicks and no flooding

I'll try all 3 to see what works best, I suppose.

Thank you for the tip on the store. Do you find that you need to replace the glass often?
Why did you have to replace the base? Thread problems or something else?

It's good to know that there are a lot of people using PT2s - that means that it's a decent product and I can always get some advice
if I have questions/problems :)

I've heard people complain of a rubber taste, I rinse the components in not REAL, real hot water and alcohol (99% isopropyl alcohol, vodka or Eveclear works) and either air dry or use a paper towel and a "Can of Air" that stuff you blow the dust off computer components with.

I've just dry burned the original coils and replaced the wicks with cotton. Haven't gotten into doing my own coils yet. The wicks that come with the coils just really don't saturate with juice (dry hits) or flood (sucking juice up the chimney), burn up too easy if your VV, VW is too high, and just aren't as effective as the organic or sterile cotton. RiP Trippers on Youtube has a lot of videos on wicks, coils, and the ProTank 1 and 2.

I had one PT1 come with a cracked tube, other than that, no problems. I believe only one person on the forum cracked their glass tank but it was from a drop. The stem on the base of the other PT1 broke while unscrewing it. I understand that was a manufacturer's problem that has since been fixed. It's just good to know where you can get this stuff JUST IN CASE, and I kinda stocked up on the replacement parts:oops:

Once you get your 10 posts, you can start posting under specific catagories, here's a good place to ask and learn about specific tanks:Tanks

So, I got my ProVari and the first protank 2, and it is really awesome.

The flavor and the amount of vapor is awesome.

No metal taste - washed everything out. I do get a bit of either liquid or condensation on the connector.

Now, if it's leaking, that's not too good. The tank is not flooded, there's no gurgling, so, I'm not sure what this is.

Have you experienced this?
