Hello my name is Nick and I’m new to the forum, I’ve been cigarette free for a year and two months due to vaping. I’m currently running a 200 fusion mod with a limitless RTA. Love it but looking for a bigger mod. I also would like to speak to an admin or the owner about something. Thanks for reading my post.

Hey Nick, welcome to ecf. Glad you joined us.

If you want to stick with the same type of mod are you looking for more power or more batteries for longer run times. A little help here please....lol

I’m planning on buying new batteries to go with the new mod so I can go 18650 or 20700 I don’t care, thinking a 4 battery mod. I’ve been told 4 battery is a little over the top, but I don’t know. I’m not necessarily looking to go crazy high wattage, I was looking at the iJoy maxo, I like the way it looks but haven’t heard much about it. I’ll rarely go past 100, but it would be nice to have the option to go up to crazy wattage if I wanted to. Definitely want longer battery life though. That’s why I was looking at a 4 battery mod.

I don't know of any 4 battery mods, maybe you can enlighten me. lol

Once you get to a three mod battery, it can get quiet heavy and the power may be limited to the batteries themselves. Most batteries that vapers use are limited to what output they can safely deliver. Give battery 'MOOCH' listing a gander. He test and recommends batteries based on their safety for users. Click on this link, then look for a posting mooch has posted. In his signature you can click on the most current listing table. Very informative.

I have some mods that take a 20700, 21700 and some that take 26650 batteries as well as my 18650 battery mods. You can get great power and selection for temp control from Vaperesso Polar Mod. If you get one, just be sure to update the firmware as it corrects the fast firing that burns coils in an instant. Great mod tho allows total customization of your vape. Takes 2 18650 batteries.

Hi Nick and welcome! Not a lot of 4 battery mods on the market. There's really no big gap between a 3 to 4 battery mod, other than size and weight. Thinking about vaping over 200W is a nice thought experiment. I'm hard pressed to even come up with a build that would even be tolerable at those high wattage settings. Then again I'm also hard pressed to think about going over 100W to get a satisfying vape, but some folks do, and they seem happy.

Battery life is dependent upon:

  • the capacity (mah) of the batteries,
  • the number of batteries the mod uses,
  • the energy efficiency of the circuit board,
  • the voltage cutoff of the circuit board.

I would suggest a mod with a DNA chip set. They tend to be more energy efficient in my experience.

I had a 3-battery RX200 mod which gave me just over a day's use. Same thing with a dual battery Segelei Fuschai Plus. Using the same brand/model of batteries, my single battery DNA mod gives me nearly a day's use on one battery. The batteries I was/am using are the Samsung 30Q 3000mAh 15A batteries at 30 watts.

When choosing which batteries to use in a regulated mod, take into account the highest wattage setting that you will use and the amp rating of the batteries.

Are you using a single, dual, or triple battery mod? In the interests of keeping things simple:

-If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

-If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, you're good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

-If you use a single 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, then you are good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts for two batteries, and 225 watts with three.

-If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

Well the iJoy maxo is a 4 battery, so is the rx400 or whatever it’s called. It doesn’t have to be a 4 battery, I just want more battery life the I’m getting from dual 18650

There are some that take a 20700/21700 like the Lost Vape Mirage and a few who take the 26650 batteries. You just need to look around to see what you may like. Consider what your needs are and what you would like to have as far as weight, the way it looks, how it performs and what is important for what you want. Bigger is not always better. There are some really small mods that can do what some of the bigger mods can. And some even do it better. LOL. Like I mentioned before, check the recommended battery chart to see if there is a battery that has longer run time than the ones you use now and check all of them, 18650, 20700/21700, 26650. How long a battery will last depends on how hard you vape it and the power level used.

Check a couple of the vendors sites to see what is available. If you click the 'supplier' button at the top of any of ecf pages, you will see lots of vendors who have a presence here at ecf. Hope this helps some.

:)
