I have a newbie question about a Genesis build I just did. . Last week I did a Stainless mesh wick coil with 32ga Kanthal A1[ all i had] 5/4 wrap and got 2.4 ohm1 [wick]After vaping on it for 1 week its now 3 ohm.Tonite I did Decided to use 32ga on a dual wick RSST same mesh 5/4 wrap.Came out at 1.4 ohm.OK I have been vaping on it for about 1/2 hr on my Seigeli 20 watt and its down to 1 ohm?

. Built a braided sleeper coil last night, 0.24 ohms and she's a brute!! So far my favorite coil build! Amazing flavor and the vapor is crazy!! :D

I have a question, I've been building my own coils for some time but never tried sub-ohms. I wanted to start with nothing too extreme, just 0.8 ohms, so I made a couple of 1.7-1.8 coils using 28g kanthal, 10 wraps around a 3/32 drill bit. I ended with a dual coil that was 0.9 ohms (more or less what I wanted) but for some reason my coils take too long to heat properly, which made me think that maybe, to get around 0.8ohms and a coil that works good i would need less wraps with a lower G kanthal. Since I don't have any available, could I use a bigger drill bit than 3/32 and less 28g wraps, or it is a bad idea? Sorry for my ignorance, and thanks for your help!

7wrap 24g Parallel microcoil wrapped around a screwdriver that's ~5/64ths
.25 Ohms

This was going to be a dual coil, but the center-post holes on my patriot couldn't fit four strands of 24g :p
plus, .125 ohm is WAY too low.
I'm astonished by how much vapor this produces at .25, and the abundance of space on the deck makes for a really nice, airy draw. I almost think a dual would've restricted the airflow too much.

Lol. For better response, drop the wraps and/or make up for the resistance loss by using a HIGHER gauge wire. Not lower. (Higher as in. The number. But smaller in diameter)

Using 28ga to hit sucha high resistance isn't a good idea; it's a lot a lot of wire mass to heat up
