Hi. New to the forums, even though I've read over a little bit of them, just for research. I guess I'll just get down to it.

I received a DSE901 starter kit from e-cigarettemart.com about a week ago, and before anyone starts asking, I'm 99% sure i got an "actual" dse901, not a Chinese imitation. Hopefully, anyways :p

Anyways, I just had some questions relating to dripping vs cartridges, and I guess atomizer care.

I mostly drip into my 901, and besides the occasional flooding, it works fine. I get a good throat hit pretty much right off the bat, and the vapor usually kicks in heavy after 2 or 3 drags. It lasts for a decent amount of time, about one analog smoke, give or take 2 minutes(?)

Now onto my experience with cartridges. They work amazingly well when you first put them on (big surprise there), but yeah, the flavor and throat hit seems to die off after only 2-3 uses. I've refilled one of the 5 cartridges that came with it, up to the point of saturation, and experienced pretty much the same thing. Worked great at first, but for how much e-juice i had to put into the cartridge, i might as well just have dripped.

So I guess my question would be, does using a cartridge have any benefit that dripping does not? I'd assume that dripping is worse for the atomizer, but if you take care of it, is there really any difference in lifespan?

My second question would be, how often do you recommend I blow the liquid out of the atomizer? I've been doing this 2 times a day roughly, and while the atty stays "fresh", i find myself having to drip more into it to get it to work correctly.

Well that's all the questions I really have right now. Thanks in advance.

Ps. Can anyone recommend me a site that has fast delivery to the west coast (IE. Michigan?) I don't really want to go through e-cigmart again. Any juice recommendations would be appreciated too.

Thanks

Good luck with the use, like I said I just got mine last night and am trying to get used to it.. I do like the amount of vapor that it is giving off right out of the gate, just not sure how to regulate the nic intake yet.... on the other hand I have not had an analog since last night and usually I have sucked down 4-5 by this time in the morning.

I wouldn't say dripping is any worse for your atomizer than using cartridges.
But you might want to look into using different filler material to improve cartridge performance.

This is to be expected.

When you blow out all the juice, it will take significantly more drops to get it working, because the atomizer is really holding onto a lot more juice than just the 2 or 3 drops you are dripping into it each time. The mesh surrounding the atomizer coil can probably hold at least six drops.

You will get no concensus on blowing out your atomizer. Some people do, and some people never do. Some just let them drain overnight. There is no agreement as to whether or not it matters.

I blow out my atomizer if I am changing flavors and really don't want the old flavor hanging around for awhile. I also blow out my atomizer if it is going to be sitting around unused for any reason. I am one that believes that juice sitting in there can dry out and start to clog it up a little bit.

I have a Sidesho, not yours, but I felt the same way about carts, even filling blanks, so I went ahead and bought blue foam for that mod on my second day, which was only 10 days ago. WORLD of difference.
It looks like this....
Marineland Magnum Foam Sleeve "Rite-Size U" 3pk.

So you just buy this stuff at a petstore, cut it up and use that as the filter instead of the cottony thing? I'll have to try that.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I haven't blown out my atomizer all day and it seems to be working more consistently than before. I guess I just have to get more acquainted with my 901. Definitely a world of difference when compared to analogs.
