Hey. I'm planning on getting my first mod as a step up from ego batteries. I've been using the evod 1 starter kit for a long time, then I stepped up to duall coil evod glass tanks and a vision spinner 2 1600mah. After the spinner stopped working (and with a little help :) ) I figured out why not get a mod instead.

I've been looking for some mods, and I really like the coolfire IV. Great vapor, great looks and great battery life. I want something in this price range. Is this a good mod or should I find another?

I'm also looking for a new tank to use with the new mod. I have several evod 2 dual coil glass' I'd like to be able to use as well, but I also want a higher quality tank. I'd like to be able to fill it up more than just 1.6ml, adjustable airflow would also be nice. And of course, can get good tastes from it. Also, which resistance is suited? Another thind I'd like is the ability to rebuild coils and/or the ability to make coils not being a major expense.

I'm more of a tootle puffer, but I do enjoy a nice cloud once in a while. I'd like a little more vapor than I get from my current setup, and the possibility to get huge clouds when I want. So I'm probably going to switch the wattage a lot.

I see the nautilus mini and I think I'm going for the nautilus mini. Anything I should know? Also, I've begun taking more direct lung hits lately is that easy to do with the nautilus?

I use the Nautilus, wide open airflow. I do a kind of "modified lung hit". I draw air along with the drag on my vape (which is how I smoked cigarettes, too.)

I "rediscovered" my Nautiluses after the "newer" cotton-wicked coils came out. Now, they are in rotation.

Also, I've heard very good things about the Cool Fire IV. Don't have one personally, but a number of members on here do. If you want more opinions, go through the APV Discussion threads. I think there are comments out there.

Alright :)

What kind of ohm value should I get? It's really expensive to buy it in Norway so if there were some cheap, but good places to buy each thing seperately (stupid $40 dollar limit on ordering from other countries). But especially about coils. And are their coil easy to dryburn/clean for a longer life and possibility to rebuild?

Here's the bad news, most of my stuff is so old that I can't offer good advice on what to get anymore. Here's the good news, if you do plenty of research and buy good quality, you will be in a position to say the same thing someday.

On average my coils last 3 months or so. So a 100ft roll of Kanthal wire lasts years.

Yes. I lung hit with my mini and occasionally a tootle puff too. You need to be patient with the Mini as it can be a pain with leakage sometimes but it's worth it.

I just swap out the coils. Not really noticed much difference between my 1.6 and 1.8.

Is there a lot of leakage? Leakage bothers me a lot. I've been patient enought with my older cracked evod plastic tanks.

But when the coils cost $4 a piece, I'd really like to have a cheaper option than switching them out several times a week :)

Ergh - that will be one of the pains of the Nautilus.... There are some who have successfully rebuilt the Nautilus heads, but I'm not one of them. You can't dry-burn them (especially with the cotton wicking material.)

I don't really understand why they have 1.6 and 1.8 - like Lewis says, can't tell much difference.

If you're looking for rebuildable, you might consider the Kanger Subtank Mini. It has an RBA deck, so you can make whatever resistance you want (make sure you have all the right tools - including ohm checker) I've used EVOD/PT heads in mine, so I can keep it at a tootle puff, if I wish.

Recommended resistance - wow, that's really all on you. I've played with a lot of different coils (both pre-made and built by me.) *MY* preferred range is about 0.7-1.8. I'm trying TC now that I have a couple of mods that can handle it.

BUT - for my day-to-day vaping (and keeping me away from cigarettes) I run a Protank 2 with homemade coils in the 1.5-1.8 ohm range.

Make sure you're set on what you need to stay off the smokes, and as you can, find something new here or there to test it out :)

That's the problem finding new gear..Whenever you're set on one setup, you find a downside with it, then there's a better tank which fixes that problem, but it's more expensive or have something else you don't like. Argh.

I've never rebuilt, but it would be nice to have the option. I chose the nautilus mini because people says it brings out the taste really good and I've been having trouble with actually tasting any juice. I want to be able to! But the subtank mini is getting out of my budget.

But about the coils, let's say I'm vaping either pure vpg with nic and half time using single fruit flavors, how long would the average user have that coil until it needed to change? And with cleaning.

I don't know about the protank 2. It looks nice and is cheaper and the possibility to use old coils, rebuild etc is a huge pro. But is it as good as they say nautilus mini on taste? Does it produce a valuable amount of vapor? You guys keep making me unsure of my choices :p

You can't use pure VG with the Mini I'm afraid. Plus there's no flavour in it.

Yes the leakage is a pain and for the price it's not very welcome but when its running well it is worth it. I'd look online though as the price mark up is about £10.

The Kik Protank 2 is nice for the price.

I never use pure vg. I said VPG which is a mixture base of PG/VG. I usually go for 50/50, and 70VG without flavor.

But is the leakage something which happens to everyones nautilus? Common problem?

Think I'm mixing between the different protanks now as kanger also makes protanks..

I get a sufficient amount of vapor from my pt2s. I vape 30p/70v to 20p/80v juices, based on my DIY recipes.

I do have airflow control bases on my pt2s. They are not standard.

If you want to consider rebuilding, I started with pt2 heads. I have a blog you can find by clicking on my avitar. It was intimidating to me at first, but now I can do it in my sleep!

Aspire Nautilus - I think I have 1/2 dozen or so of these. These are great for 'toodle puffing' however don't expect big clouds or every factory atomizer/coil to have decent airflow (for the Nautilus) or last very long. The only time(s) mine leaked was when I left them in a locked car on a hot summer day or transported it between large temperature differences. Least I was getting was a 1-2 days and most I was getting was ~10days on unflavored nicotine base juice per coil. "Sweet spot" for me as 8-10W with the 1.8ohm coils.

While others may of gotten more life out of their atomizers and new ones last longer than a pack of smokes did for me, even with rebuilding I rarely use my Nautilus tanks anymore. ~$4 an atomizer is expensive, I was paying (with shipping) ~$9 for a pack of 5 clones and even then grew tired of them getting clogged or burnt.

I'd highly recommend a tank that comes with or has an optional RBA.
