new mod, new atty, where's my cloud?!

So, based off of the videos i've watched recently (which I thought would make me a pro) I thought my current build would make me blow clouds of vape and would be awesome. Here's the build I have maybe someone can help me find the problem.

-- Nemesis mod
----ICR 18650 3400mAH 3.7V battery, fully charged
-- Patriot atomizer
---- 28awg dual microcoils w/ sterile cotton as a wick
---- 70pg/30vg juice picked up from my local shop

watching a video from rip trippers where he reviewed the patriot atty I saw he was using microcoils w/ 12 wraps.

I've got an iTaste MVP v2 that I was using as the tester and it says i've got .7 ohms? I'm not sure if that's accurate but I'm having trouble finding my multimeter.

I know it's working, my coils burn from the center towards the end, it does make vapor but it seems like the only time I get a decent hit is when I hear it popping, and then it seems way too hot to get a good hit.

I'll take any advice you guys can offer. Thank you.

I am not 100% sure I am just going off what I have read but I believe that the mvp isn't supposed to work at a sub ohm level or it can be very hit and miss. Something I do know though for the cloud chasers you are going to want something higher in vg than the 30% I would say try out some 50/50 that's what I am vaping with an evic and a kfl+ 1.5 ohm at 3.6v and I get great cloud production. Not as much as on the videos but more than I was getting before. Maybe someone else can jump in though about the sub ohm though that knows more there.

One thing is the pg/vg ratio your using. Another could be the way the coil is built. I've personally found the build is the single most important factor in relation to performance. At .7 your gonna hear popping and cracking, its common. When sub-ohm vaping the vape is going to be much hotter than a higher resistance coil would be. Good luck.

Edit: When I really wanna blow clouds, I use 100% VG juice.

I can't address the clouds issue without a pic of your setup but I can tell you you are using the wrong batteries for sub ohms and for mech mods. You should be using IMR batts. They are safe chemistry and will vent rather than blow up in your face in case of a short.
Oooh, didn't pick up on that. I would pay attention to this^^^^. You can use what you like, but I personally would never use an ICR battery in a mech mod.

If you vape with a regulated device, it will usually have protective circuits built in to keep you from screwing up too bad. If you vape with a mech mod, only you and your knowledge about battery safety stands between you and a thermal runaway. Take the time to do some research about Ohm's Law and battery safety. You'll be glad of it, and safer for it! Go Vols!

Here what I suggest to everyone who tries to start by jumping off the deep end:

Get where you can build a good coil its ok if its 1.8Ω its a really good starting point. When can build that coil, with a good wick, and its working for you, then move on. Why? Well you now have a starting point and some knowledge. If its not working you can figure what you are doing wrong. When you ask us we are just guessing most of time. It great that you are watching Rip blow them clouds or anyone else, but remember it's a video, most of the time they took many practice hits and takes to make it. Not saying you can't but don't expect it with your first try.

I second everything Rob said and want to add that on a video, there's many factors in the way a cloud looks...camera, contrast ratio, lighting, speed and type of exhale etc etc. Question to ask yourself....does your vape taste good and please you? Trying to emulate the best of the best using their best take on above equipment will inevitably have one forever chasing the (probably) unattainable. Enjoy what you're doing and, as always....Vape On!!!!

THIS!!!!!!!^ ^^ ^
My advice to the OP....STOP RIGHT NOW....and READ Baditude's blog (and a myriad of posts......!!) about BATTERY SAFETY!!!
The vaping community.....and your FACE....will thank you!!:)
Happy- and SAFE (vaping) Trails!
