Both great devices.
The Vamo has a slightly easier menu system. But the SVD will take more battery options, with it being telescopic.

Both vape equally well. So I guess it's mainly down to the look. I've heard people having similar problems with both devices, stripping threads etc. But they both seem equally reliable.

Must admit I do prefer the feel of the Vamo, so I tend to use it a little more than the SVD. But as far as performance goes, I can't really split the two. Not much help I know

I have 2 vamo's - very easy to change wattage/voltage up or down, in fact some times it is too easy so it needs to be checked if it starts tasting different - the 510 threading can be weak but I avoid that issue by using a straight sided ego beauty ring as a tank support so I do not over tighten my tanks or drippers

SVD is a little more complicated for changing settings but has instructions on the actual mod and I would imagine it will become second nature fairly quickly- have not had one so there is no more info I can provide regarding threading

I've recently been carrying my SVD using the 16350 batteries to keep it a bit shorter in length. I can change sittings very quickly on the SVD and I don't have to wait for the display to finish it's stuff to allow me to make changes.

I do not own a Vamo but I've had enough experience with it to make the choice that I did.

I have a Vamo V5 stainless and love it, have been using it in 18350 mode. Only thing that has been a little wonky with mine is the pos connection inside the 510. There is a tiny delrin or rubber piece that I think sort of floats the actual connection so that it has a little give. Every once in a while I'll put on a tank with a long 510 and then the next tank will read 0.0 or 9.9 and won't fire. Have to get in there and wiggle it up a little with a tiny screwdriver to get it working again but that's it. I give the Vamo a thumbs up and I use it ever day in my rotation no question.

Never held or used the SVD so can't comment.

There are many happy Vamo users on ECF, but also people like me who are not overjoyed with this device. I've heard it said that Vamos are made by a couple different manufacturers, and I wonder if there are QC issues at some of these places.

My first Vamo (V3) died with a couple days, when the small buttons stopped working entirely. I've had the replacement for five months, and even though I've rarely taken it out of the house, it's literally falling apart. The tubes hardly screw together anymore (meaning each battery change is an adventure), and the main button does not fire reliably. I don't expect it will last more than another month or two, and I cannot see myself buying another Vamo.

Sorry to ask an unrelated question, Manxi, but how happy are you guys to see David Moyes plying his trade elsewhere?

My office neighbor is a Man U fan, and every Monday morning (when we talk about the weekend games) is a whole new level of ugly for him.

I'm going to but my first proper mod, I don't know if I should go with the iTaste SVD or the Vamo v5, I would love some advice before buying, please help.

We were very sorry to see him go. We knew he had flaws when it came to ambition, but were prepared to overlook these because of the stability and pride he brought back to the club. His replacement has displayed a true understanding of the identity of Everton and has brought a refreshing, exiting style to Goodison Park. He is a true gentleman and behaves like one at all times, even when the temptation to be negative must be overwhelming.

As for Moyes, I thought the transition from Fergie to him would be seemless but I have been proved very wrong. I still think he's the man for the job but newspapers here are reporting he's lost the confidence of his players, I think there is no way back from this and fear that the Old Trafford faithful are losing patience with him. They where very poor yesterday.

To conclude, sorry to see him go, but would not have him back. I enjoy playing without fear, or sin miedo as our Roberto prefers to say.

I find your comment interesting about different companies making Vamos. I have noticed different materials and finishes as well as some even sold as a particular brand. I have never really seen a lot of complaints about a particular one.

I have an older Vamo and an SVD. I much preferred the SVD until it died. It just seemed like a smarter device. The display on the SVD is brighter and actually useable outdoors, the VAMO display is not. The SVD will lock settings so they can't be accidentally changed, the VAMO does not. The SVD is three clicks on and off, which I much prefer to the 5 clicks on the VAMO. The finish on the SVD was in a different league than the VAMO I had. I liked how the SVD told you how the battery was doing when pressing the fire button. I also liked the telescoping feature, the removable drip well, and the ego threading which actually worked. I think the SVD is also much more attractive in appearance.

In the end, however, the SVD is no longer working (fire button is dead) while the VAMO, although too often flaky, is.

One big negative for the SVD is I actually cut myself on the battery cap on two occasions. A little filing fixed the issue but that's not something one should have to do. Also, the SVD is larger than the VAMO.

get you an airflow control adapter for 3 to 4 bucks...saves your original threads, gives you a new base to screw in your devices and airflow control to boot...have one on both my Mods works great, no more wiggle.

I've gone for the Vamo, thanks to all for their sagely advice, I get a real sense of community from this forum.

i would say congrats on your vamo because other than finish, i've had a decent experience with mine. it was my first device and still functions like new. though, the issues that plague some users, i do not know if you'll experience them. so i will just say congrats on a good choice in finish. the stainless should last as long as the mod.

i hope yours works as well as mine did until you feel it's time for something new.

Interesting comments, and you've got me thinking about Moyes in a different light. I've enjoyed watching Everton in the past, however -- at least to my untutored eye -- for the past few years they've had the look of a perennial mid-table club.

But they've looked so much better under Martinez this year, at least in games that I've seen. I watched that rock solid performance against Chelsea before Christmas, and came away thinking that I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them in the Champion's League in the next few years (though I also saw the more recent Derby loss to L/Pool, what was up with that?)

It's not easy to watch what Moyes is going through presently, SAF was an impossibly tough act to follow, and I have a lot of sympathy for the new manager.
