I have an older Vamo and an SVD. I much preferred the SVD until it died. It just seemed like a smarter device. The display on the SVD is brighter and actually useable outdoors, the VAMO display is not. The SVD will lock settings so they can't be accidentally changed, the VAMO does not. The SVD is three clicks on and off, which I much prefer to the 5 clicks on the VAMO. The finish on the SVD was in a different league than the VAMO I had. I liked how the SVD told you how the battery was doing when pressing the fire button. I also liked the telescoping feature, the removable drip well, and the ego threading which actually worked. I think the SVD is also much more attractive in appearance.

In the end, however, the SVD is no longer working (fire button is dead) while the VAMO, although too often flaky, is.

One big negative for the SVD is I actually cut myself on the battery cap on two occasions. A little filing fixed the issue but that's not something one should have to do. Also, the SVD is larger than the VAMO.

Please see my post near the end of this link. It covers my SVD nightmare completely.

i would say congrats on your vamo because other than finish, i've had a decent experience with mine. it was my first device and still functions like new. though, the issues that plague some users, i do not know if you'll experience them. so i will just say congrats on a good choice in finish. the stainless should last as long as the mod.

i hope yours works as well as mine did until you feel it's time for something new.

Kind of sums up the Vamo. Works until you want something new not when it dies!

Right, the Vamo v5 is here, the batteries are on charge, and I've gone to see what wattage I should use. Then I see a thread which says you've got to double the wattage for dual coil devices from the ones stated on the chart. I've got a MBV Hawk Sauce that takes a bit of getting hold of in the Isle of Man, steeping for seven days, and want to sit down to the perfect vape, please can I beg further sagely advise on the perfect VV / VW setting prior to sitting down with an espresso, a crossword and my new mod. I will be using a Protank 3 - 2ohm cleraromiser fitted with a airflow adjuster.

Glenn_K, it's difficult to feel sorry for DM, it was a next to impossible job to replace SAF, but he's an intelligent fella who would have understood this at the time of taking the job. He would have also understood that the squad he was taking over had serious defects only SAF could have won the EPL with. He is a good footballing man who should have understood that the squad would have to refreshed with established players of a quality that Old Trafford demands when the transfer window opened. He didn't do this and now he is paying the price. He made some quite derisory offers for both Baines and Fellaini and ended up paying far too much for a midfielder with very limited capabilities and leaving the best left back in the world to carry on plying his trade on the hallowed turf of Goodison Park. Then when he next gets an opportunity to buy he takes Mata from your club, who was unhappy at Stamford Bridge because he was playing out of position, and plays him in exactly the same position. In my opinion he is panicking and not applying his footballing brain to his decision making. Given time he will go back to using his brain and not his knee jerk reaction in buying player, but I think the time he will be allocated and I fear the worst for a very talented manager. His mind set is not yet in the United way of things and this let him down a great deal when he got close to great things at Goodison. You will remember the 2009 cup final when Chelsea played off the park for long periods, at no time did we go for it, sh@t or bust, by playing with two front players, this was a grave error as all we did in reality was keep the score down.
As for our drumming at the hands of our nearest neighbours, we got caught cold and found that playing a talented, but only 19 year old, defender against the most potent attack in the country a big mistake. I am only just able to talk about that game and it still hurts. Don't give up on us for a top four finish just yet, there we have 11 games left and are still a good side, but right now we need a bit of form a a bigger bit of good luck.
As for where the EPL trophy will go this year, I think you will have a smile on your face come late May.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, makes for very interesting reading.

I'm watching Chelsea v Galatasaray at the moment, and I have a pretty big smile on my face right now! :2cool:

i wouldn't put stock in that. logically, there's a likely hood that you'll need to increase wattage to run dual coils, but who's to say how the dual coils are built vs. the single coil and how they perform until you try them.

in my experience with the iclear16B for example, 9 or 10 watts was well more than enough when normally, i run single coil stock heads at around 8 watts often.
