Why do people even consider paying these inflated prices for a Provari. Don't get me wrong I love my Provari. I have 2 of them and that's the only mods that I own. But gees, I paid $140.00 each for mine on the Provape web site.
I just got the pink one on sale for 145.00,,,,,,great deal!

Keep in mind that the less expensive you go, the greater the odds of the thing dying on you quicker..

It's never easy picking one, because there are so many variables involved -- budget obviously being one of them

That said, if you go cheaper, and it goes on you 4 months down the road, was it worth it? You could have paid more upfront for a better one, and have it last years.. and financially come out ahead

I currently own a Sigelei Zmax V3, which is fairly similar to the SVD, as my 1st mod.. it's nice for the price, but I'm concerned how long it's going to last. Plus it's always good to have a back-up, which my Sig will soon become.. imagine losing your only mod & having to go back to your eGo type for a while! Because trust me, once you go mod, you'll never want to go back :)

After much research & debate, I finally ordered my 1st ProVari on Monday.. Even with the extras (black finish, blue LED, extension cap), it's still less than what I would have paid for a month's worth of cigs. I also could have bought 4 Sigelei's with that. But you know what? Betting that I'll get a much better vape with the ProVari, and that it would out-last all four of those cheaper Chinese-made mods

I know somebody with a Vamo -- they are not happy with it
I know somebody who has a 134 -- they say it's too huge, and more of a stay-at-home thing

Personally, If I were in your shoes, I would go with either the SVD.. or better yet, if short-term & long-term budget allows, go with the ProVari

I believe you won't have to worry as much about having a back-up if you have a ProVari as your main PV

Then save your money for a 2nd one... I haven't even received my 1st one yet, but that's my longer-term goal! :D

Honestly many will say the provari but I would say the itaste MVP 2. You can get the compete set up for under 100 bucks and it's a nice PV. BUT....if you have the $$ Provari is the best. I just cannot justify the cost when there are so many other good PVs out there. Just my 2cents of course.

you make some good points,,,,,,

and each person has different circumstances of course,,,,,,,but my first MVP broke, my second one is already starting to hold less battery life,,,,,,

Now, I vape a ton,,,,like 14ml a day,,,,so I finally decided I need something GOOD. I got a pink provari on sale for 145.00. Worth every darned penny.

It may sound high, especially compared to those 33.33's -- but it is indeed 800.. :)

Your numbers are correct guys. The Chinese boards run the PWM at 30 - 33 and the Provari runs at 800 Hz. Cycles per second. Hz. This is enough to generate an essentially flat DC response without all the ripple you get with lower resolution PWMs (33Hz).

I love my Provari. :toast:

After 2 1/2 years of vaping and owning many, many devices I have come to one firm conclusion...buy high quality devices. Out of the pvs you've listed buy the Provari. It seems expensive, but it is worth every penny. I'm not a Provari fanboy (I am a Semovar guy), cheaper devices are cheap for a reason, they're essentially disposable. Provaris have proven to be a top performing and very durable device for many years, they are tried and true. Buying high quality devices will save you money in the long run as you will be happy with your devices, they will last for years and thus you will buy less.

Perhaps I will buy the Provari then. I forgot about my tax return I'll be getting so that will make the payment for it A LOT easier than going based off a paycheck. Plus, I don't have to be in any rush of course. Any idea when the Provari 3.0 will come out? Is it worth waiting for that or just buying the v2.5 now? How often do they bring out releases?

ProVari V3? Your guess is as good as anybody's..

That was one of my concerns.. but I really couldn't / didn't want to wait

I will, however, try to wait for a V3 as a 3rd mod... :)

The semovar does look sweet,,,,,,,not every mod is for every person, nothing wrong with that,,,,,there are tons of great mods out there,,,

getting started can be expensive, which is why most of us started with the cheaper egos or cheaper mods,,,

but at some point, it DOES pay to get a higher quality mod,,,,,,,,which one doesn't matter,,,,,,whichever one works for you.

Provape keeps saying they have no intention of putting out a V3 any time soon,,,,,,,,but your guess is as good as anyone's,,,,,

the blue one is on sale for 150.00,,,,,,you'd need batteries though,,,,,,,,,,,and a charger too.

Your guess is as good as ours. The rumor mill is that there will indeed be a new device. Some are speculating that it will be variable wattage. I for one would hope that they go with a less gimmicky system, and something maybe a bit more advanced. Jumping on the VW train this late in the game would look like a rather anemic move when other options do exist.

I've seen some vids of it, looks very sweet..

My only complaint would probably be the weird menu system

How does it compare to the ProVari?

Thanks! The Semovar is sweet and paired with a Kayfun it's pure vaping bliss. The menu is a little weird at first, but it only took me 5 mins to get it down. It's about the same as the Provari's a little more involved because you have vv/vw settings, but really similar.

As for performance, I think it hits a tiny bit better, not a lot but the output signal feels like the nice flat signal from a mech. But it's not like the Semovar puts the Provari to shame. The Provari is still awesome.

Yeah you can get them cheaper if you stalk the Provape clearance section for a blemished, or the classifieds. I got my Provari on the classies for $137, which I thought was a pretty good price, of course it doesn't come with a warranty but ehh.

I figured they'd put the colors that are selling the least on clearance to get their sales up or something. Is it random? I doubt the silver/black/white/chrome ones would ever be on clearance or on sale?

Currently blue ($150) & purple ($160) in clearance

And those only come in certain LED colors (add another $15)

So at best, $165 for a blue one with blue or green LED, that only works with an 18490 (medium) battery

Suppose you could always get an 18650 extension cap ($20) later, if need be.. though blue might not be available at that time, either, if that matters

The blue's actually not that bad, if you ask me.. and with blue LED? :thumb:

Perhaps somebody who watches the site more than me could chime in, but I doubt the more popular colors ever make the clearance section

I believe they did have a 10% off sale (everything) on Black Friday.. but I don't think that happens often

ECF Classifieds, or perhaps eBay, would be other options...

I would gather that when the V3 is finally up for grabs, they might run the V2.5's for a short while with a small discount until they clear 'em out

Again, whenever that would be, heh....
