Okay so I got a new mvp2 today.

I unbox it, turn it on, apparently the light is green its charged? Ok, plug it into usb anyway using the little three way connector.

Got the iclear30 tank, juice it up let the wicks soak a bit.

10min later, battery light is still green and .... figure, aight well, its a pass through anyway can fire it up.

Turn it on, put the volts at 4 and watts at 9, pop the tank on. Nothing.

Have tried another tank. Nothing. Not firing at all, any ideas? Any help. Any ......ed things im overlooking.

Does it read the tank/atomizers resistance, ie when you push the two small buttons simultaneously does it display A then a number or just 'non'?

It could be a contact issue where you may have to slightly raise the connector on the MVP (one of its few quirks).

When I press both buttons the display reads

A0.6

Hmm, im assuming this is with the Iclear attached?

That is ridiculously low resistance for an Iclear, it should be in the 1.8-2.2 range, which makes me think the iclear itself has issues, pretty sure an MVP will not fire anything that low, though ive never tried it with my several units.

Does it read the resistance of the other tank you tried?

No, my other tank actually wont work on this connection, I was able to pop in on before but didnt pay close enough attn, it wouldn't fire regardless.

I purchased this online, im using the tank it was packaged with - not sure how it could be so low ohm.

Things happen in manufacturing, so its entirely possible there are issues with the head in the iclear.

I know its not ideal, but i would start by completely disassembling the iclear 30, including unscrewing the head from the stem.

Then reinstall the head on the stem (leave plastic tank/tank top off for now) screw it onto the MVP and check your resistance reading.

If its still .6 then we may have to dig deeper.

Remove the head from the stem again and remove the rubber piece from the top of the head/coil. Now look down into the stem and see if you can see any obvious issues with the two coils in there (they are stacked) taking special note of the coil is too close/touching anywhere inside the stem or the two coils are touching. Worst case just move them around a bit, while making sure they arent touching the sides etc.

The reinstall the head in stem and put it on the MVP and check the resistance again.

At this point im relatively certain its an issue with the Iclear and not the MVP itself.

What type of tank/connection is your other one? If we can confirm it will fire something else, we know its just that screwy iclear.

Halo tanks, dunno the specs Ive just been using them for like 6months.

Without paying much attn it felt like it just screwed on and made contact, second time i did it I realized it wasn't possible for the tank to work.

Ahh ah i see, yeah they're 808 or something i forget right now.

Back to the MVP, try the steps i mentioned above, and maybe we can get that iclear firing.

Worst case scenario replacement heads for the iclear30's are about $2-3 each domestic, and like i say im nearly positive its an issue with the iclear/head and NOT the MVP.

Hate to see people having trouble with their MVP's as they really are a great little unit, we'll figure it out one way or another!

It's reading anywhere from 0.0 to 1.8 after tightening the .... back together.

Still wont fire, regardless of reading.

Hmm who did you get it from?

Any B&M's near you that you could drop by and see if they would let ya test one of their 'tasting' clearo's on it or maybe somewhere you can grab a cheap tank to confirm whether its the tank/head or the MVP itself, before you try to return it.

The green light on a new one fooled me too. Let it charge until the light goes out. It is then fully charged.

Also I know this isn't related to your problem but you don't set both the voltage and the wattage. If you press and hold the U button and the voltage is displayed it is in voltage mode and will fire at that voltage. If you press and hold the P button til wattage is displayed you are now in wattage mode. It's one or the other. Check out some videos on YouTube like grimmgreens and you'll see more how it works. Sorry you're having issues, I hope you get them figured out! Seems like your iclear30 may just have a bad coil or something in it.

This doesn't explain why

1) the device will not fire at all
2) the device will not turn off, ive tried 3 fast clicks, 3 hard clicks, five spam clicks.
3) it reads ohms from 0.0 to 1.8 and everywhere in between

Yeah if it won't turn off etc, maybe it is an issue with MVP (honestly very rare), i'd immediately contact the vendor and let them know of the issues and they should work with you.

Sorry about your issues and i know its not much consolation but generally the MVP is a very nice unit (i have 3), and i wouldn't hesitate to keep recommending it.

Let us know what the vendor says.

Best of luck!

Tried with and without it on, not sure how that could be an issue but ill take your word for it.

wow, knda all over the map

unplug it and take the/any topper off

now push BOTH buttons together and post what it reads

(non & 3.7?)

do you have ANY OTHER TOPPER to use for a test ?

I hope it's just you i30, mine had bad coils right out of the box, but mine normally read non. After I took it apart and put it together again, it fired a few times, then stopped working again. If I remember right, when it stopped working again, it wouldn't turn off until I took the i30 off. I wish you had more toppers so you could try them. I was lucky, I had a bunch.

You were right, after I took the tank off the device turned off normally.

Where in ohio are you (generally)?

Richland county, mansfield/ashland area.

Without a tank, the resistance reads non. I have no other tanks to test on the device.
