Hello,
I'm new and need help figuring out a good e-cigarette for my mother.
I had recently ordered an green smoke e cigarette for my mother a couple weeks ago. It arrived a few days later and one of the batteries have already died. My mom somewhat likes it but I think she is just saying that because i bought it for her but I'm not to impressed and may be convinced to return it for my money back. My mom does prefer it to look like an actual cigarette and I'm wondering if there is a great alternative that is much cheaper and reliable than the crap that I got suckered into by jumping the gun. :)

Hey Winkles, thank you for posting. It is a wise decision you took.
We all agree that "off the shelf" "Gas station" e cigs are to be avoided like the pest.

Could you please tell us more about your mom? What analogs she smokes? How many?
What sort of flavor do you think she may like?

We mostly reccomend a 510 starter kit for newbies, because we do not want to influence a more expensive alternative, should the person not like vaping after that.

I think you will get many responses in reply to your post. I can not help you further because personally i use some heavy artillery, but i am sure others will help you select the correct ecig for your mother.

I just recently got the kr808d1 from "my vapor store dot com" for less than 35 dollars.
It is black with a blue light and so far I love it. I thought I wanted an ecig just like an analog. But I changed my mind and prefer the black. But people like what they like. I wish you and your mother the best of luck finding a happy solution.

You really can't go wrong with either the KR808 or the 510. Both are available in inexpensive starter kits and both will provide goood vapor right out of the box. As a gift for someone who might not want to deal with a learning curve, the KR808 would be my choice, just because it comes with cartomizers and the stock batteries last longer.

Thanks for the replies! Well my mom has recently and somewhat still is smoking marlboro lights I think. But she likes the green smokes but I dont want it to get to pricey for her or have an unreliable product for the insane price green smoke is charging. I know that their is a 20% restocking fee but even if i get a cheaper one thats between 30 or 60 dollars we are saving money. I'm still going to do research with her online seeing if she wants to switch or not. So keep the giving me alternatives please and Where can i find the kr808 as an example.

Well I've been looking around for a good value e-cigarette that is similar to green smoke but way cheaper and I've found plenty of course. But I found one that really interests me because of its lifetime warranty and good accessories. The brand is smoketip, which is a lot cheaper than any green smoke stuff. But I think its one of the newer e-cigs so not to many people have experienced it but if you have is it OK to start with. The model is a KR808D-1 as well and only interests me compared to the other models because of the lifetime warranty on the batteries. Also If i went for that model of e-cig although smoketip doesn't sell refillable carts will it be possible to find some or refill their carts after first use?

A couple of additional points:

I have a couple of KR808D-1 manual batteries.

Along with the regular KR808 cartos the SmokeTip cartos will fit and work well. They can also be refilled using the procedure in the video in my last post.

If you want to go with regular carts, the DSE901 atomizer and carts fit the KR808D-1 battery without the need for an adapter.

If you want to go with a pen-style cart (holds more juice than the DSE901 cart) then go with a Joye302 atomizer/cart or DSE801 atomizer/cart combo. However, both of these will need a battery to atomizer adapter.

I have also discovered the KR808D-1 manual battery will fit in my DSE901 AC charger without the requirement of an adapter.

The KR808D-1 batteries I have now have a 10 second cutoff instead of the 5 second cutoff previously reported (at least the ones I got from LitecigUSA do).

I don't use the KR8 too much anymore, although I do still like to use the cartos on mods now and again. But Smoketip was the first company I dealt with as a brand new vaper, and my experience was very positive. Although the kit price is somewhat steep compared to others (litecigusa has starter kits for 30 bucks compared to 60 at smoketip, both batteries have the 5 second cutoff though, the V4L ones, as well as LeCig batteries, have a 10 second cutoff.), their customer service was very good, the products are good quality, and they do honor the lifetime battery warranty.

I had to send 1 of 4 batteries back due to malfunction after a couple months (the others are still going strong!) and got a replacement in 3 days. I've never seen a similar warranty elsewhere, although, of course, there could be.

Well there is no reason not to keep trying until i find one that my mom likes especially since many companies have the 30 day money back guarantee so even if my mom is not impressed i can return it without worrying about losing to much money. But yea my mom like green smoke but It just seemed to expensive and unreliable to be trusted and the one she is going to use for awhile. I did order the $59.95 smoketip starter kit just to see if she will like it and if it works for here than great because they have a nice warranty and accessories but if not you guys have given me plenty of examples so THANK YOU! I do have a question though if my mom does decide to keep it. Since I know some people started out with smoketip, which helped them and some still use it but anyway I hear that vapor king carts and batts work with smoke tip is that true? Smoketips are the kr808d-1 so not sure what would be compatible.

Hi Winkles!

If it is a KR808D-1 then it's a great unit. That and the Joye 510 are the most popular pv's among ecf members.

If you have bit of time please read the following links. Gave me a solid foundation of information, and lots of pictures of the various models. The first is a 6-part series, rather long, but easy to read and well-worth your time, I promise.

Always be wary of places offering a "lifetime" warranty on electronics, because there really isn't such a thing, imo. There's usually a catch...so please read the fine print carefully.

Best wishes to you and your mom!
