Yes, I have full control of the wattage, I can click it from 7 to 7.1 - 7.2 - 7.3 all the way up in 10th's to 75w..

I've been advised by a few people to get a different tank and coil at around 1.6ohm / 1.8ohm.

So - My current tank is a uwell Crown - Can I get a 1.6ohm coil in this?

Thanks!

Think the point earlier is that the build or resistance of your coil is going to determine how effective this PV is going to be at delivering power. Not necessarily the wattage setting.

The baseline "sweetspot" (best balance of power, max watt range) is approx .5Ω whether RTA/RDA, see figs Mod range | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators. It should prove adequate for you on either up to about 40W. I find it unremarkable beyond that. Hard to say where you'll find flavor with your particular juice.

On a single coil Subtank the D2 can produce outstanding flavor from 17.5 to somewhere shy of 25W. Quite not enough of a kick lower (wet, muted vaper mebe even bitter) and too much diffusion above (airy vape, too much power for flow). Small RDA builds up to 3mm I've run up to 40W. Not always at good density (for flavor) depending on the device.

Best of luck Doz. :)

Do you have the original Uwell Crown tank? If so, the atomizers for it cover a very wide range and you should be able to fit yourself in well. I have posted a pic in the past that shows the great range it offers but I can't find it again. Again, if you have the original, I'd recommend buying a couple of each atomizer available for it. Then prime, ready, and use each atomizer in turn to find the one that suits you.

Thanks Anna...

The "fixed wattage"... I'm not sure I understand... I can adjust my .... vape? [what is it called] from 7w to 75w.. Doesn't this mean my wattage is variable?

Really trying to get an understanding now haha.

What you have is a VW device with no step down below the nominal charge of the battery (according to users in the thread linked above).

Using Ohm's Law,
if your battery is at 3.8v, your coil is at 1.8o and you ask for 40w, you get 40w because the chip can draw the 4.7 amps by stepping up the battery's input to 8.49v. You can go anywhere above that, up to the chip's limit of 75w.

I don't have that device, but my understanding is that while it can step up the battery, it can't step down below the nominal voltage of 3.7.

Doing the math again, if you ask for only 7w, the chip actually delivers 7.6w because it can't get the battery to go below 3.7.

If I'm mistaken and the "floor" is the current charge rather than the nominal charge, then the wattage can get to 7.0v and the floor will move down as the battery discharges.

It's really not that big of a deal since you're unlikely to break or burn anything up at those levels.

All of the above is just a complicated way of saying that the mod is VW capable, but limited in how variable it is on the low end.

Hey! So, I bought an IPV D2, a crown tank, 0.25ohm coils about a year ago and actually gave it away because I couldn't work out all the settings and couldn't find that "sweet spot" for flavour... when I smell somebody else's vapour, it smells delicious but I couldn't seem to get that with my own setup.
Anyway, I've managed to get my IPV D2 back. I want to try again with vaping. Today, I bought some new juices and coils. I put a new coil in (0.25ohms), primed it (put juice on the cotton holes), put juice in my tank and let it settle for 15 mins, started vaping at 45 watts and I just can't seem to get much flavour.. I put a little dot of juice on my fingertip and tried that, the flavour is gorgeous but I can't seem to get that through my setup..
Tldr: IPV D2 (0.25ohm) - can't taste juice - what wattage setting do you recommend?
Thanks all!

Ok so today I bought a 1.2ohm coil and some new juice. Primed it slowly and correctly, increasing wattage in increments of 2watts over a few hours. I'm still lacking flavour and so I swapped back to my 0.25coil, used half a tank of new juice and I still can't get the same flavour I had from my frineds, so.. I found out what setup my friend uses..

He has an Aspire Archon with Aspire Cleito

This setup was absolutely amazing and I think I'll get it.

Anybody else have the Aspire Archon / Cleito? What's your opinion on it?

I just gave away my Cleto as I don't do DL, it was a gift from my kiddo after he quit vaping. My impression of it (despite being a MTL vaper by preference) was that it's a solid tank, the coils last well, and it's pretty leakproof and consistent overall. It's quite variable as far as airflow and wattage, despite the "recommended" wattage on the coils... I vaped it as low as 30 watts, but it was just too airy and bulky for my style. Also, in general, aspire products have been reliable, has been my experience. My kid had it for awhile, never really any issues with it and good coil life (he was vaping about 250 mls on it per coil change/month-ish, but not dark flavors). I am loving my Nautilus 2, also an aspire product. Getting the extender tank is probably a good idea as the cleto is pretty thirsty. I had flavor for days, but just couldn't handle the clouds/wattage, to be fair I was using peppermint, and that's a flavorful vape. I give it a good review, even as a MTL vaper. :)

Best of luck!

Anna
