New & Need Some Opinions and Advice...

Hello Everyone!

I'd like to start with a big thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, as it has been a wealth of information in helping me get started with my quest to quit analogs. I know that a lot of my questions below will have answers on the forum somewhere, but I feel like I have information overload at this point and was hoping I could get some info and tips about my setup and what would work best for me specifically.

Background - I smoke around 1 pack/day of Marlboro Mediums

Last night I decided to purchase the Volcano Inferno kit with prefilled carts of their Magma tobacco Full Flavor (16mg). My main questions/concerns are that I want to make sure when it arrives on Tuesday I'm not making any rookie mistakes with setup and use. Some sort of step by step for an Inferno setup would be extremely helpful. I really want to emulate the flavor/taste/TH of my analog brand and was hoping I could get specific info as to what is the best method to achieve that. I've seen a lot of people talk about new attys having poor taste and ways to get around that, but still am unsure of the proper method. I also didn't want to jump too far in with empty carts and different e-juices without being sure of what the best carts to get with my setup and what the best juices are for my brand. Lastly I'm wasn't sure if a drip tip was the way I should go right off the bat, but if you guys think it may be the best emulation any info about the nicest accessories would be awesome.

Thanks everyone in advance for any advice and tips you guys throw my way. Can't wait to get started!

There will probably be some instructions in your kit about breaking in the atomizers. It's nothing too technical -- the first bit will taste off because of primer fluid that atomizers are shipped in, and then after that most atomizers don't really reach full potential until they are broken in with some use. There really is no proper method from the former (I like the drip, puff puff without inhaling, drip and repeat method), and for the latter it's just a matter of use.

You'll have to experience to find what flavor and nic/vapor/TH combo suits you the best. You definitely are in the right frame of mind by not ordering a lot of anything -- try around. You may find that you don't even care for tobacco flavors after you start! 16mg is a pretty good starting point on nic level, but if you were a heavy smoker you may find that the throat hit is not strong enough for you. Just experiment.

Did you get any juice or just the filled carts? One word for the wise, without any juice -- not just for dripping per se but for topping off your carts occasionally -- you may find that performance degrades rather quickly as the carts run out and may not even be up to par to start up with. I'd definitely get some sample size bottles of juice as soon as you can.

Finally, just to make sure you are aware, your Inferno is essentially a rebranded Joye eGo -- you can find many threads here on that PV model. Don't feel as if you are restricted to ordering from Volcano for juice, carts, or replacement parts -- juice is universal and otherwise your kit should be compatible with standard Joye 510/eGo supplies.

When you receive the kit, be sure to blow out the primer fluid from the atomizer by blowing about 6 times into the end opposite the threaded end and hold a tissue at the threaded end. Then drip in 6 drops of your liquid directly into the atomizer. Then blow through the atomizer a couple more times, drip in a couple more drops, and it's ready to vape, as long as the inner cart inside the cartridge is ready (that is, peel off any foil from the top of the inner cart; use a bent paper clip to push out the inner cart from the hole in the bottom of the cartridge, peel off foil, and then push the inner cart back into the cartridge).

I have the Inferno, make sure you know that one charges on the power cord and the other is a pass-thru and plugs into a usb port, just look at the flat end of the battery and you will see it, but it will work off of the cord as well when charged. I just got some atty's this week from volcano and when I tried to blow the primer out I got nothing, so kept trying and nothing, so I put it on my Inferno, primed it up with some juice and off it went without the awful taste I have got off other atty's, I don't know why. The vapor wasn't very strong the first day but worked itself out by the second day. So try and blow it out but if nothing comes out don't be concerned. My husband won the Inferno set at a vaping meet as a door prize and didn't have an atty, so just used the atty's I had at home for my eGo, so this was my first experience with their attys.

I did watch the 25 minute video on Volcano's website about using the Inferno and which battery uses the cord (1000) and which ones uses the USB (650) but I did not order any refill liquids just extra carts. I will definitely be ordering some juice now and just order samples of a few different ones. I didn't realize the Volcano was a rebranded Joye eGo so at least now I can feel more comfortable ordering things that are labeled for an eGo 510. I really am looking forward to experimenting with different juices but like I said I just didn't want to get too many things too quickly. I really appreciate the quick replies from everyone!

The only thing different the the eGo is the cone, on the eGo it screws onto the battery, on the inferno it just holds by a rubber ring, so eGo batteries or cones will not work with the Inferno. Cartridges, cartomizers and attys for any 510 will work though. Hope that helps, the paint job on the inferno is much nicer then an eGo though, they are very elegant looking.
