Phiniac tanks are marketed as the most impact resistant pyrex tanks available. They show a video on the website of them surviving a toss against a garage door, if I recall. Having said that, I managed to crack my lone Phiniac also, which now has a hairline crack and leaks.

I'm not aware of any fix. I always wondered if those people who apply a polymer to cracked windshields might help, but the cost would probably be the same as purchasing another tank, or more.

Glass is glass, so you'll always run the risk of cracking a glass tank by accident. Sorry for your bad luck. :(

Thanks Bad, the guy at Phiniac seemed to know this type of crack and think it should hold but did say if i knew any glass blowers I could have it annealed.
I got the Phiniac cause it looked so much nicer than the plain Kryptonite but maybe I'll leave the pretty ones home! !

Not to answer for him, and he may like others, but I know for a fact that bad rocks the IBtanked ! Lol. He has directed many a happy vapor that direction, me included! ;). Should get a darn royalty check! Lol

If Phiniac's are the toughest, I'm in trouble. I've lost four Phiniacs over the last year and one IBTanked and one GP SnP Tank. I now have backups to backups, except with Phiniac's, since the tank is the main piece. Some pics:

Have to say that GP SnP is now my favorite tank and with tank replacements at about $6 - 10, backups are very affordable. IBTanks backup tanks are only $6, so that are really a good deal. I now only buy tanks with a minimum of two backup glass tanks. I live in a tile house and occasionally, these PV's launch like missiles across the room when you catch them just wrong. Good luck!

Just got the new smok PBC v1 (5ml) and v2 (3.5ml) tanks. Bottom coil. Pyrex inner tank with a plastic sleeve that the top and bottom screw onto. I've dropped both onto a tile floor and had NO damage. Solid and great performing tanks. Buy both for less than $20.00. Oh yeah, they don't leak either!! I have an SVD, a VTR, a CoolSmoke 1, and a vamo v5.

I have a couple of Phinacs, but have actually not dropped them yet. My issue with one of them however, is that my anodized endcaps are chipping. Will not be buying anymore of these. Besides this, they are just too expensive.

I mostly have IBTanked as well. I think I'm up to 10 now. I dropped one, attached to a ProVari, and it chipped the paint on the tank a bit. And, this past week, I dropped one on concrete, and it shattered. However, the replacement tube is like $6 ($5 more to paint it), so really I don't care. I will continue to buy these.
