Welcome to ECF,
They can get pretty tight but I've never had to use a tool to unscrew the top and bottom. I've at times used a towel to get a better grip when my hands were wet. Good Luck!!!

Cheers,
Steve

PS I hold the top and unscrew the bottom counter clockwise (bottom facing me). The orings probably have a pretty good grip on it. Maybe running it under hot water for a few seconds first might help.

If you would like to SEE it being done; a couple quick Ya'll Tube videos.

Kanger Protank-2 - YouTube --- Quick and simple Ya'll Tube video of disassembly.

The Kanger Mini Protank, Protank II and Cleaning Replacement Heads - YouTube --- YA'LL TUBE VIDEO BY Sun Vapers is a premium Kanger reseller in San Diego County. (They KNOW Kanger... good resource site for new and old E-Cig folks alike).

Kanger Protank Review and Instructions - FlavorPuff.com - YouTube --- Patrick is a good guy; puts a lot of time in helping old guys like 'me'!

NOT an endorsement or sales pitch for Sun Vapers; but they DO have a lot of hands on with the folks at Kanger. NICE folks all the way around. Also on Fannybook ........... errr...... FACEbook with info on new products in the works (Kanger's motto: "Let's release another 'new and improved' to confuse the folks who JUST bought our last 'new and improved' model designation!"

While you have it apart.....check the top and bottom metal sections....there should be an o-ring in both sections (or it MIGHT be stuck to the rim of the glass....!!!) Apply a THIN film of FOOD-GRADE o-ring lube and re-assemble....FINGER-TIGHT ONLY! if you really "crank down" tightening you could break the glass and/or distort the o-ring(s), causing leaks.....Good luck!
Happy (vaping) Trails!
