My Provari finally arrived yesterday and it is everything they say it is. Absolute magic.

What is not so magic is the two eGo-T adapters I ordered with it.

One of them will screw on to the PV, getting gradually tighter and tighter until it stops about a mm from the shoulder and that is using my full strength. It does not make contact. Screwing it in this far is making visible marking on the PV thread. To tighten it further would require a wrench and would certainly damage the PV thread.

The other one will not screw on more than half a turn.

I know Provape will sort this for me, I have emailed them and await a reply. Has anyone else had this problem with these adapters?

Frustrating these things travelled halfway around the world and no-one thought to see if they actually fit together before sending them! :(

Oh thats interesting, I got some Ego adapters from another site (before I ordered my provari) and they didn't fit either, I was considering ordering some from provape, but sounds like whoever is manufacturing the adapters isn't doing it right.

I currently use (well, ok, I haven't bothered with a Ego-T atomiser for a while since I got my MAP Tank and VPX Mini tanks, but I WAS using) a stealth 510-901+standard 901 to 510 adapter together. That worked well, only about 1 mm visible gap so I wasn't too fussed that the ego adapters didn't work (other than wasting some money of course).

Hi belialNZ!

To correct this problem, I ran the point of dental pick through the threads of the 510~eGo adapter a few times. The point or edge of a sharp knife or other object will work as well.

Pay close attention to the very first thread, where the thread starts on the edge of the adapter.

I then worked the adapter on and off a couple of times by screwing it on and off an eGo battery. This enabled it to screw on all the way. I used an eGo battery, as not to mess up the threading on my ProVari, not that this would happen, I just baby my ProVari.

Once you run something through the treads you should be good to go!

I purchased my 510~eGo adapters from a different vendor.

This seems to be an issue with all or most of the eGo adapters from China.

Hope this helps!

Edit to add;

Also, you may have to adjust the center section pin of the adapter to ensure it makes contact with the center section pin on the atomizer. To do so, screw the 510~eGo adapter onto any 510 e-Cig battery and then just turn the center section pin with the slot in it, out (counter-clockwise) with a small screw driver about a 1/4 of turn. This will extend the center section pin out far enough to make contact with the atomizer. Adjust as necessary to ensure it makes contact with the atomizer. Screwing the 510~eGo adapter onto a battery first keeps the other half of the center section from turning while making the adjustment.

The adjustment to an adapter as described above needs to be performed only if the atomizer does not fire when using the adapter. This adjustment works with most adapters and may affect the draw as well.

Well, it's now more than 24 hours since I emailed my problem to Provape via their website and I have yet to receive a reply.

My shiny new Provari cannot be used for the purpose for which it was bought, i.e. use with ego-t kit.

I am not at all happy.

Does anyone have a direct email address for someone at the company please?

(EDIT) A few moments after posting the above I received an email from David at Provape so just a slight glitch in comms

I got 4 adapters straight from heaven gifts in china, they are a tight fit on the provari but not an ego battery, I first tightened up with vice grips, I put a carto on the adapter and measured resitance as I went until it seated. I was a little paranoid originally about thread damage but not a lot. Once its on .. it can be screwed on by hand. Grab another (new) adapter and its the same deal .. tight. But only once .. the cones are the same, tight to screw on the first time but get looser each time.

The adapters screw on to an ego battery just fine.

So to summarise .. it does not damage or change the threads on the provari, just use pliers. Its just the plating is put on after the thread is cut and its a little rough, the provari has tighter tolerance threads than an ego, they are also harder. They don't get damaged ..

My provari never gets used without the adapter, with the cone on as well, it acts as a catch tube and no juice ever gets to the provari, looks cool as well.

There were some that got shipped out that didn't fit very well. We now process all the adapters when they come in and clean the threads with a die. Appears the Chinese are plating the adapters and this is adding to the problem. All of the adapters we get from now on will be cleaned and tested so this should resolve any future issues. :)

Sorry for the trouble.

Every company gets problems. How they sort them out is the true test of their worth and you pass with flying colours. Thank you very much for your help with this, and I'm sure future customers will appreciate you going the extra bit to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Top marks! :toast:

eGo Mega is the same size and fit as the eGo-T type B's which I use, this adapter should work fine

Thank you. I went ahead and ordered it.

But what good is an adapter if you don't have a Provari to screw it into? So I ordered a Provari to go with it.

A man after my own heart. You will not regret it, I have had mine just two days and I love it. It is everything that people say it is and I can't wait for my adapters to arrive now!

Good to hear you like your Provari. I have read nothing but good things about the Provari but also about Provape.com

Okay guys, here is another problem re: adapters:

I just got my latest parcel of vaping loot. Among them were a new CE4 Clearomizer, ECHO cartomizers and an EGO adapter. I tried the CE4 on my Provari, then I wanted to switch to an ECHO cartomizer. Tried to remove the adapter from the clearomizer.

It won't come off

I have tried rubber bands, rubber gloves, and pliers, in various combinations. Neither I nor Mr Scarf-Ace could budge it. It is stuck but good, and the narrowness of both items prevents proper grip.

I am resigned to throwing away the clearomizer after one use if necessary. But I really do need the adapter. What would you do in this situation? (Besides buy another one, which I'd really rather not do.) Any tips? Will I be poisoned if I try WD-40?

Oh, I also stuck it in the freezer. No dice.

FRUSTRATED.

Ego adaptors are very crappy on the threads in general . Its not just provape, they are like that bought anywhere . Sometimes you get good ones sometimes not. I like to use 510-510 adptors when i can instead of the ego adaptor. Try not to screw bad ego adaptors onto a PV . If it dont go on easy you risk crossthreading the threads on your PV. Luckily the Provari has the strongest threads there is being SS.

Point taken. I have decided to reserve the EGO/ECHO stuff for my EGO batteries and ditch the adapter. I 'll stick with 510s or 808s on my Provari. Not going to risk thread damage. (MadVapes sells great 510-808 adapters that work beautifully and UNSCREW EASILY hehehe.) I am digging the Bloog cartomizers at 4 volts.

You dont really go that far as to not use it ,just make sure you got a good threading one.
