I've posted a bit about this, and got some great replies, and read some more of the tips and tricks post . . . when i hit the firing pin, i don't hear the atty spark at ALL until the pin is pressed ALL the way down, i.e., finger mashing! So, does this mean i need a bit more noalax?

thanks,

Jill

Probably. Remove the battery. Push down the button until you see the tip of the firing pin in the inside. Take a Q Tip dipped in alcohol and clean the tip of the pin. Apply more noalox to the tip.

Is it a Grand or Mini and which battery are you using ??

It doesn't sound right .... I have a never used noalox in almost 11 months with my first Grand it it fires very easily for me.

Different batteries create a longer or shorter "throw" on the button but with any of them it should fire as soon as metal touches battery.

Maybe something is not aligned correctly with yours.

Thanks for the great replies - I also find myself pushing harder when batteries need a change! I love a freshly charged battery . . . one thing that helped a bit, was a new LR atty that came today, what a difference . . .

Jill

I'm so glad you tried the new atty. It's a game changer. A good atty on the REO should not be underestimated. And as Lisa said, a fresh battery. If I feel myself mashing the button, I know it's time to check the battery.

That being said, I still find myself mashing the button like my life depends on it. So I made a button cover from clay, drilled out to fit over the button. I hold it on with some sticky non dry guitar pickup adhesive. They look quite good.

If it will help, I can send you one. Pm me colors and address if you like. I think the blended colors are cool ... Like red/black/silver, purple/black/silver, blue...etc. I'm sending out a bunch today, as a matter of fact.

Button mashing doesn't help. grands with a good atomizer and a charged battery should fire with little effort .Try and keep that in mind if you notice your mashing the button its rarely the mod and usually a worn atomizer or a battery that needs charging .Change your battery at least once a day and clean the firing pin once a month the mod should run like a Timex.
