Well new to me, First of all i want to thank each and everyone of you who jumped on the main board and really helped me out as with so much advice on the REO. So i found it in the classifieds from dopeh. Black on Black REO grand, comes with trust fire 3.7 batts, 5v batts with 5v charger, no charger for the 3.7v batts. I have some CCV 1.25 LR dual coil cartos iv'e been using with my ego vv batt works very good so i have no doubt t will work great with the REO. My dilemma is i'm not to fond of using it with the supplied 3.7v batts it comes with iv'e read bad reviews on the trust fire batts with LR cartos and attys. Iv'e been looking for some aw high drain batts and could not find them. Finally i found some at vapor kings now i really don't want the hassle of testing batteries after they come of a charger so should i get the trust fire battery charger Vapor Kings recommends or the pila charger? Iv'e read they come off the pila charger at the perfect v and under load on LR cartos or attys they stay at 3.7v. also any advice will be really help full i.e. atty cartos maybe some of you alls set ups anything.

thanks, Larry
ps i will fill u all in as to why i have so much time right now reading and doing research. and i will go thru a formal introduction i just gotta get these batts and charger ordered before my "snickers" BABY arrives.

Hi Larry, and WELCOME to the REO forum. The good news is that the major issues with trustfire batteries are in the small (14500) size. In the 18650 size that the Grand uses, you can use the TF batteries (although I still prefer the AW IMRs). You should be able to find anything you need at AW Batteries

If you are really concerned about battery use and safety, the Pila charger is top of the line.

Thanks for the welcome mlinky and nerak i tried AW batts they out of stock on those batts. pretty much everyone is out of stock. besides VK just want to make sure they were the right ones.

I checked the link I gave you they had them. They were a little lower in price. The ones you are looking at are good. Either charger is good!

Hi Larry, and welcome to the REO family. I have the Pila charger and love it. I do periodically check my batteries with a multimeter when they come off the charger, and so far they've always registered 4.2v...nothing higher or lower. I like that I don't have to constantly monitor batteries on the Pila. While I only have REO minis, I only use the recommended AW IMRs. I feel a little safer with them. Enjoy your new REO.

P.S. Register your new REO home on the REO roll call thread. :)

It has indeed shipped, hope you love it! As far as batts, I never noticed a difference between IMR and Protected on the Grand - Mini is a different story imo. You won't use 'em anyway once you try the 5v haha

Sorry I haven't been around much, I'm sure the mods are relieved lol

<3 to all and happy holidays!
