I just received my new sigelei 19B and RSST. I prepped the SS mesh per instructions on this forum. Thanks EHuman!

Any reasons this coil would have so high resistance? 10.1 ohms tested with a multimeter

There are no hotspots and the coil glows fine. I put some juice in the tank and it vapes like a train. A little hot but that just may be me not used to a RBA.
Just a side question, the 19b has the top cap spring, I was under the impression that the battery needed to be positioned in the unit with the positive up, I can't get it to fire that way. If I put it in with negative up it fires just fine.

28G!?!?!?! 10 ohms on a 2/3 wrap? man, either that ain't kanthal at all or you have some REALLY loose connections at the pos / neg connection (or your mutimeter is just bad)

i mean 2/3 kanthal 28 should be around .6 ohms

on the RSST as you screw the positive post the bottom positive post on the 510 protrudes, are you sure it's long enough to make contact with you device? (althogu usually 1mm out does the trick)

what device are you using?

btw, there are no issues at that resistance (which i doubt is the real one). It's just so high that at 4.2V (a fresh quality battery on a mech BEFORE the device's drop, since you have a sigelei I should actually deliver some 3.7 or 3.8 Volts) you'd be vaping at = 4.2^4.2/10.1 = 1.7 watts!!!. the coil would get hotter just by being exposed to the sun ;)

When you use a multimeter to check ohms you have to subtract the resistance in the leads themselves. Touch them together and wait for a stable reading, then meter the coil and subtract the first reading from the second. But 10Ω still seems pretty high for that build. check all your connections and be careful.

I agree. If you're running a stock Sig 19, you may want to put some work into it first to get it to perform. It's a grteat looking mod, but out-the-box it leaves too much to be desired. With a few bucks and a little elbow grease, though, it can be worked into a little powerhouse.

no matter how you look at it, a device giving you a 3 omh resitance itself (before the coil) for example is plain bad

and a multimeter with 1+ ohm resitance on the leads you should just throw away (I mean, my el-cheapo Extech $14.99 one has a .1 ohm resistance, c'mon)

in the super cheap mech realm people are saying good things about the telescopic storm, that would only set you $17.99 from Fasttech and you can watch a few videos on youtube about it, Todd (toddsreviews.com) said that once you do some minor tweaking here and there (mostly contact points) it hits just as hard as $200 mechs (although he reckons that it wont last nearly as much)
