Got a stingray brass mod by infinite. I have a Sony VTC5 fully charged flat top and idk what to do since theres no directions. You can hear the battery shaking around in there, its not even close to making contact. Can someone help please thanks

Shaking around?

I'm using a stainless steel stingray by infinite...also using the sony VTC5. No shaking around, its secure in there.

Make sure you tighted the end cap that has the pin/that connects to the delivery device FIRST. Once that is FULLY tightened....put your battery in. THEN tighten the bottom end cap, the one with the magnets.

If you do it the other way around, the top cap won't screw in all the way, and you won't be able to fire it.

Also, try putting the battery in the opposite way. THe weirdest thing is I have 2 18650 batteries....one has to go in one way, the other has to go in upside down to fire.

WOW that sounds way off. One needs to be mindfull of reversing polarity, you could end up venting your battery.

Not even. It is a Mechanical Mod - does not matter which direction the current is flowing. It is simply passing through a coil and back to the battery.

Op, did you remove any extra tubes?
Which Stingray? Brass or Black copper or........

I have a stingray clone. You have to remove the extra tube spacer for the kick. The mech actually has 3 pieces to it. Two of them are about the same size. The third is quite smaller. Remove the smaller one, screw on the atty, put in the battery, screw in the bottom cap and vape away.

Not in a mech. It's not the coil that cares about the polarity, its the electronics in a regulated mod that cares.
Might affect a kick though.

The danger is, if there's a nick or scrape in the wrap on the battery, and it contacts the side of the tube, you have a dead short.

But you would have the same problem regardless of which way the battery was inserted, correct?

No; rule62 is correct.
On the battery, only the top is positive; the whole outer can of the battery and the base of the battery is negative.

With the normal direction, the negative at the bottom is in contact with the outer tube, and the body of the battery is also negative, so if the body has a scrape and contacts the body of the tube, it is negative to negative so there is no short.

But if the battery is upside down, the positive pin is now connected to the body of the mod. So if there's a scrape on the negative body of the battery and it contacts the body of the mod, there's a short.
