New stuff acquired and taste issues

It’s my first message here.

Im not a new vaper, I’m vaping since 2010.

But today I do have a question, I’m troubled.

I used a lot of vaping stuff since 2010, but I was stucked on a Nautilus 2 since 3 years, moving from 0.7 coil to 1.8, depending on my needs.

2 days ago, I acquired a Vaporesso Target PM80 SE.

I tried 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8 GTX coils.

But something new and disturbing is happening : all my favorites eliquids (DIY using concentrate mixes with 10% total flavor) taste strong sweetener, almost only sweetener and nothing else. It covers my entire mouth really fast and it becomes disgusting after a few puffs.

What do you thing is happening ??

Might want to try diluting your mix down to lower the percentage of flavor. Someone with more knowledge of those devices will be along shortly, but it sounds to me that you've increased the wattage you're vaping at, and getting a different result from your tried and true mixes.

My juice taste different in an RTA to how they taste in an RDA. I agree with the above, it sounds like you are getting much more flavour through now. Just adjust your juice for it, and drop the sweetener down.

I agree with posters above. The combination of mesh coils and higher wattage will change the flavor profile of your eliquids. This is the most likely explanation. Dilute!

The posters above are right. In addition, the GTX coils you mentioned are mesh, whereas the Nautilus coils are regular, as far as I know. Mesh coils accentuate the sweetness of the juice as compared to regular coils. So, apart from diluting your juice or adding less sweetener, you would have to find different flavor concentrates that better suit your taste in combination with the new coils.
You could also try the 1.2 Ohm GTX regular coils.

When the flavor of your juice shines, you will find issues with it if it's been acceptable in older technology.

I made some juice that was so nasty it was 100% unvapable in my SRDA with FCC, and all I had to do to fix it was put it into an older tank and vape it until it was gone - that way I wasn't dumping juice down the drain...

Just realize with new equipment you'll need to revamp your recipes, because in new equipment even with factory coils you can actually taste what your vaping..

To reiterate along the same lines of some of what has been suggested above, the fluid dynamics of an atomizer plays an important roll in how a flavor comes across, not just the build in it, how you run that build, etc. That's why in my DIY I mixed each of my recipes to be the best they could be in the specific gear that I would always vape them in. IOW, with some of my favorite recipes there are multiple versions of them... each designed for the specific gear they would be vaped in.

I'm just not that extreme... I just make one juice that works in them all and deal with the slight variances in flavor..

Most vapers follow your lead. Especially those that do not DIY at all and settle on premades that are someone else's idea of what is a 'best vape' in WHATEVER gear you run it in. I tried some of those premades at first (that didn't work for me) while I was learning DIY my way for what WAS the best vapes for me in MY gear. But then for me (since I never used nic in my DIY) vaping was all about the quality of the flavor rich vapor.

Yeah when I went to zero nicotine I had to change literally every single DIY recipe I had...

Now I invest in higher quality flavorings and everything else for that perfect flavor, so I totally get where your coming from there!

This is 100% what I’m experiencing, I mean it.

My main problem is I can’t remove sweetener from my juices considering I use pre-mixed concentrates. So now I guess I just need to move on single Flavours and do DIY. Back to 2013

Now I suspect juices manufacturers are deliberately exaggerating on the sweetener to allow the coils manufacturers to sell more of it

Well, I'm torn between the joy of having great flavors now and the disappointment of my favorite all-days containing so much sweetener.
