I smoke 1.5/day. Want to try 510. What supplies do I need? I have tried blu way back. Couldn't suck hard enough to get vapor. Gave away. I want lots of vapor, good hit, easy draw, cigarette shape. Decided on 510 and man battery and auto battery. What else do I need? Also, do I need eliquid? I smoke menthol. How do you use eliquid

well Halo makes 1 that i got in a contest that works real good but the prob with buying this type of ecig is you then have to buy the carto's from them.Deep Purple Electronic Cigarette Kit

I would buy a ego type ecig with a refillable tank clearomizer like this 510 650Mah Pink Ego Twist Kit [Pink 650 EXC twist kit] - $50.00 : Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts
they produce more vapor and are much better..this is the ego twist which is top of the line for ecig's it lets you vape at diff volts from 3.2 to 4.8 by twisting the bottom of it...its the best choice out there

If you do go with a cig-a-like, the biggest issue I have been reading about is the poor battery life. Since they will need to be charged more often, the battery will ultimately fail to hold a charge sooner than if you go with an ego type or larger.

Having said that if you do want a cig-a-like, you could always just get the batteries then get some atomizer, cartomizer, or clearomizers in the same thread size and you will be able use any liquid you want and it will be much cheaper in the long run.

Hi and Welcome! In the beginning, when Joytech first came out with e-cigs, they had a small battery they called a "510," but when you see 510 mentioned on ECF we are referring to the thread size, not the older battery. Are you confused yet?

You said you wanted cigarette sized. These videos are of two of the popular ones:

Thank you danimal 40. Very helpful. Will all parts come with directions? How much liq is used and how often compared to a cartridge prefilled?

I dont use the prefilled cartos the are said to be the same as a couple packs of cigs but i think they are less ..they can be refilled but it is a pain.. the clearomizer tank system is very easy, you just take dip tip off and add juice in by dripping it down the inside of tank being carefull not to get it in the middle tube as thats for air. just fill it to the marks on the side of tank..wait a few mins for wicks to absorb juice and your good to go for the day

I also recommend an eGo battery (unless you're really set on a cig-a-like). This is the exact same kit I started with, although I paid a lot more. It's not the latest technology, but for me, was a good starting point. The batteries have 510 threading, so you can add clearos, cartos, tanks, whatever as you get more advanced. It's super easy to use (I still use mine) and the little cartridges (which you do have to fill) only hold a small amount of juice, so you don't have to commit a whole tank to a flavor you might not like. You can buy additional empty carts if you want to, but they are easily restuffed.

It's not a "Twist," which I'm sure will be recommended (and you'll likely get at some point), but if I hadn't started with a standard battery I don't think I would have understood the difference of a variable voltage.

This is just a suggestion of one way to start; getting off of tobacco is the most important thing. The reason I tend not to get too advanced in my suggestions is because there are so many options and the info can get so confusing, I'd rather see people vaping and reading the forum out how to upgrade, rather than getting overwhelmed.

Thanks ocelot. This is confusing. I just know everything stated about titan510 and joye 510 is my best choice. I just don't understand how to use liquid and what products to buy. I can always buy extra batteries, just want cig style, big vapor, and good throat hit as I am currently a chain smoker

I smoked for 40 years, 1.5 PAD of Marlboro menthols for the last 15, so I can relate.;)

How you use the juice depends on the delivery system you get. Basically, an e-cig is a battery, an atomizer and something to hold the juice. That can be a cartridge where the juice wicks to the atty to get vapor or a cartomizer where the atty and cartridge are in one piece. (There are also tanks, clearos, whatever, but I'm going to stick with this).

ETA: So unless you get pre-filled, you'll be putting juice into the system yourself.

It can be very, very confusing at first until you learn all the lingo etc etc.
I personally spent about a week on here reading all kinds of different threads, and watching numerous youtube videos before I made my purchase. I did this simply because I didn't want to sink a bunch of money in it and it not be what I was looking for, or get turned off because I made a hasty choice.

What is being recommended by everyone are great choices. I do suggest doing some searching for reviews on whatever you decide.

The reason I went the way I did, other than prefilled starter kits, is because:
1) The prefilled (for most people) tends to be quite expensive in the long run.
2) I could get better equipment, for cheaper than prefilled cig-a-like kits.

Ask many questions, ask some more, then ask a few more. That is the best advice I could give anyone starting.

Ok, I need clearomizer tank, liquid, then what. What size and style battery, what is the size of clearomizer and is this the part that u draw or inhale from?

if you buy the kit it comes with everything ..battery, clearomizer, juice and charger.. all you will need is extra clearomizers and more juice, which you can buy at any of the suppliers here.. then comes the hard part finding what juice you like the best out of the 1000 or so stores..lol
