Just thought I'd give a quick shout out.

I've been vaping on and off for the last year or so. Started out with some pretty standard, easy to use equipment. Smoktech fixed battery (not sure which anymore), and Vision Vivi Nova tank. I'm looking to upgrade some stuff and like the setup I have now but want to play around with VV/VW setups. I just ordered a really simple yet decently reviewed Kamry X6 that should be arriving any day.

The biggest thing is finding replacement parts for what I have currently for a reasonable price and decent quality. The local vape store here is literally 4 blocks away from my house but the guys totally have the market cornered here.

Also, knowing which options are best for what I have now. I did just swap out my 2.4 ohm coil for the 1.8 and the juice I'm vaping now is great!

The tinkerer in me wants to play around with all kinds of mods but the laziness in me just wants to have a really reliable setup.

I'm happy to have any feed back and am really excited to dive in to this. I've been 4 days now with maybe 1 cigarette a day and don't really have any intentions of going back full force to a pack a day.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Welcome!

If you are interested in a mod- like VV/VW APV but are not looking for tinkering or blowing a lot of cash in case you hate it - MVP 2. It is a very simple, CONSISTENT and reliable device.

If what you have does the trick stick with it!! DO not attempt to fix what is not broken :) if you are looking to upgrade and not tinker- there are a lot of options. MVP 2 is my personal recommendation as I own a lot of devices - now up to 3 MVP2s as they seem to happily satisfy myself and the other half for ease, battery life, reliability (especially out on the go). It is a device that put some fancy mods off to collect dust. 40 bucks and you get the whole deal, charger and a nice tank.

Started out with a few Blu kits, then quickly on to Volt and Halo "78's batteries". Been vaping "only" now for over 3 months after no smokey cigs for over 40 years of usage. Made the switch in 3 days. I also use a few 650 Volt and Halo batteries with their tanks, but dumping out the juices, replacing the coils seems to be a waste, esp of the discolored and off flavor juices out of the tanks just after a few days of use.

I spent a ton of money trying out different products and juices, (both brands and flavors), but found out what I like the best, (so far of course). The blank carto's seem to work great and are very long lasting as long as they are kept damp. I have one great BIG supply of carto's, juices and batteries, so now I can sit back and enjoy my purchases. My 3 favorite juices are Bubble gum, Strawberry Cotton Candy, along with my mix of Cherry Cotton Candy. Zeus juices are by far my favorite choice. I now also have to do some mixing as I like a Nic level of 9.

The guys at the local shop, at least from what I'm gathering, are all in to bigger and better. Huge vapor clouds and larger than life mods.

They were much better and better to deal with when they were a bunch of pimply kids trying to get started.

My story is similar, started with a Blu throw away that one of my customers passed to me.

I've been a pretty solid pack or two a day for a very long time. I've adapted pretty much full on to the electronic for the last week only smoking one cigarette a day for the last 4-5 days.

I really just want to update my equipment a little bit and hopefully be off grits completely by March. I'll be 30 and just want to be around with my new wife for a very long time.

I'm pretty quick to pick up on most things and the technology has changed so much in even the last year that I'm just not completely sure where to go. I think I'm getting the hang of it though.

Some good advice so far. I will add another option. I found something that worked great for me, and bought a backup so I wouldn't smoke. Since I am a tinkerer (is that really a word?..lol?) I then started to do research on other stuff since I was in no hurry to quit cigs since I already had. Now I have a new hobby!! Lot's of fun!! Find something that works for you and stick with it. If you still want more then it's game on for your credit card!! My original "works for me setup" is what I take to work now. All my fancy stuff stays at home so I have something to look forward to when I get home, besides my wife. (She might be lurking..so I'm playing it safe..:2cool:)

janderson, I think your pocketbook is the only real limiting factor. Love my zmax and kanger protank II's, but that's me. The protank can be rebuilt and makes for good practice if you might move up to an RBA later and possibly a mechanical mod. Of course, a CE5 or iClear 16 and a VV eGo battery works just fine too.

For an easy mod kit that's easy on the pocketbook, MVP2 kit.

If money isn't an issue, just try some stuff and figure out what works. A lot of people will recommend the provari. Not sure what you know about battery safety, but if you want to get something to tinker on a good mech and a kayfun lite will have a sharp learning curve that will hopefully end with nice rewards, but be ready to do some research.

And a shout out back to ya 1449,
Glad to have you in the ECF neighborhood.

CLady said it best, if the set up ya have is working for ya.....DO NOT CHANGE IT.
:2c:
Replacement parts.......when you can, check out the Forum Suppliers, can't go wrong there.

Some "vape stores" may be here today, gone tomorrow. The Forum Suppliers have been here for a while.
They are a great resource, if you can wait on vape mail......

1.8 ohm coils are great for most everything, just watch your voltage settings....

Ease into the "tinker mode".
Get your day to day set up, and do not change that.
Then pick something else to tinker with.

Or Yes,....CONGRATS on the 4 days

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

Welcome to the wonderful world of ECF! jdanderson, I so understand what you mean! Reliability and consistency are the names of my game, too.

You might want to check the Deals & Steals thread for vendors who are offering specials, bargain, coupons, etc. Other than that, it's good ol' checking around on various vendor sites.

And I'm sure in your travels here you will hear of sites that offer exactly what you may be searching for.

Best wishes to ya, and enjoy the ride! :D

I think I'll stick with what I'm currently using for my "daily driver." It hasn't let me down yet.
And, it produces a good amount of vapor with pretty good flavor and hit.

I've been hitting it pretty hard for the last few days as I said earlier and did swap and clean coils. I really like the 1.8 on this setup. I think I'm gonna buy a pile of them just in case.

Been vaping Orange Julius but I am really interested in getting straight VG juices. The shop here mixes most of their stuff 50/50 but curiousity gets the best of me and I'm not 100% keen on vaping PG even if it does metabolise as lactic acid.

I'm sure I'll start mixing my own sooner or later and I kinda want to convert all the guys at the shop I work at too. I'm pretty in to it but I do enjoy a cigar from time to time with one of my really good friends. I don't see that love affair ending any time soon though.
