I could be wrong, what were cartridge + atomizer called?

I also want to say that this post had nothing to do with what bacc.vap said in the post directly above. He just happened to post while I was writing mine.

One part was the atomizer, one part was the cartridge. Together they have no combined name because they are individual parts.

Actually you were almost right. Originally cartos were a two piece juice delivery device. One piece was the atomizer and the second piece a tube that held the liquid. When you put them together the filling in the tube would wick the liquid to the coil. At that time a lot of people like me used that atomizer by itself for dripping.

Just to be clear, originally with cigalikes, there was a battery, atomizer, and a cartridge(cart for short, the tube you refered to), when they started manufacturing those last two items in one piece they combined the names to make "cartomizer".

You don't say which cargo you ordered. Are they just the cartos or are they cartos in a tank.

If it's a cargo in a tank you could get up to around 5 ml with the tank.

Without the tank an XXL (45mm long) should be around 1.2 to 1.5. Dual coil cartos tend to have more poly fill than a single coil in the same size carto, the poly fill comes further up the length of the carto and holds a touch more. Obviously the XXL 45mm carto will hold more than the Standard 35mm carto.

The only thing I know that holds 15ml is a bottle.

Not exactly sure how much these hold, but a person at my B&M has one of their bigger ones, and it is huge. Holds a ton of fluid and looks great.

It doesn't hold as much liquid as you might think because the glass looks to be quite thick. I'd say around 3 mL or so.

Incorrect. You are confusing cartomizers with the old cartridge + atomizer systems like the original Joyetech 510. These have an atomizer (which can be used by itself for dripping) and a cartridge which contains filler material for holding juice and delivering it to the atomizer.

Cartomizers came later, and, as the name suggests, are a single piece combining the atomizer and the cartridge. They contain both an atomizer, and the filler material to hold juice, in one single unit.

Do you know where I can find some of those dripping atomizers? Like this...

Got tons of different bottles of juice and want something I can drip some into and try them out. Don't want to waste a clearo on it because I didn't like the flavor. Want something I can drip onto and taste the flavor and move on to another for testing purposes.

Do you want that exact atomizer, or just a bridgeless dripping atty in general. Gotvapes used to sell those, but the link on this page does'nt find anything. You could look at there site and see if they might have just changed the page.http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...d-now-stock-3-ohm-choices-drippers-dream.html

If you just want any atty, you can find them at many vendors. Just look under the category "Atomizers" Ikenvape is known for making good attys, but you can find them many places, and cheaper. 510 Series

Something like

this
SMOKtech LR 510 Wide-bridge Atomizer - 1.7 ohm BLACK [gotvapes-smo510atty-1.7ohm-black] - $6.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

or this
510 Atomizer - Standard Resistance Dripping Atomizer - AltSmoke

work?

If the ones from altsmoke will work, I'll get those. I need to order some these to give them a try.

Sure , you could use any of those. I prefer bridgless myself, but that's just my preference. It's definately nice to have some attys around to taste juices. A simple rinse and dry burn only takes a couple of minutes if you want to clean it between liquids.

That's one thing I've searched and read about, but still unsure what bridge and bridgeless mean. Do you know of link to a thread here or somewhere else that might explain it pretty good?

A bridge is a metal U- shaped wick over the coil on some attys. It's intended purpose goes back to the three piece cigalike design, where you had an atomizer and a cartridge. When you put the cartridge on the atty the liquid would travel from the cartridge over the bridge and to the coil. It was'nt until later that people started to use attys without the cartridge and just drip drops of liquid directly into the atomizer. When this was done there was no need for the bridge anymore, you can still drip with a bridge, but don't need it, some used to tear the out. It's easier to see the coil without a bridge, which makes cleaning easier and you can drip liquid directly onto the coil without the bridge there.

Here's a vid that shows a bridgeless atty(often called a dripping atty) and a picture of a bridged atty. You can see the metal mesh covering the coil.
