OK, another 'clear' carto tried and not worth the 'maintenance'! Awesome flav and vape when new. But like all the other previous models I've tested, it's too easy to get a bad hit and within a short time. The most favorable comment I can make about the Vision eGo Clearomizer is that they are leak free...

If you haven't done this already...I tip mine upside down (so as to WET the wicks) every few draws on it.

I've noticed that when I fill it completely, the first draws don't produce much vapor or flavor. When about 1/2 full it starts to kick in good. So, now I only fill about 1/2 full and I can see when the wick is wet by the liquid between the end of the wick and the side of the tank. When I vape that without saturating or submerging the wick, there seems to be more flavor (about 80% of ce2) and vapor.

Is it possible that submerging the wick gives more liquid than the coil can handle?

Has anyone tried the LR version on a kGo or other 3.7 device?

Anyway, my solution is to not have the wicks submerged and to "tip it when it needs it". Thanks PaporPlas

I've been using my stardust for a week now and it's fantastic. Vapes like a dragon from the get go and I do fill it up all the way. I only had 2 issues which I can't blame on it:

1. My juice seems to gurgle a lot and I get some mist or something in my throat. I added a little bit of VG to the juice and problem went away. The juice always seemed watery to me so I'm not surprised.

2. I filled a tank and put it in my case, but didn't notice that I didn't have the tip threaded down properly. When I went to use it, some of the juice was gone, the center tube was filled it, and the draw was very tight. After I got home, I disassembled it and cleaned it, did a dry burn and it works like new again. Be careful screwing the tip back on. It's easy to cross-thread it.

Just received mine. Very first impression: This looks really slick. First third of the tank: Darn, it kind of sucks. Next third of the tank: Hey, now we're talking! Good hits are comparable to the Boge cartos I've been using, "less good" hits are comparable to an eGo-T atomizer.

So that's where I am. Don't know the initial poor performance was it "breaking in" or because the wicks were submerged or what, I guess I'll know after a couple tanks.

It does look really slick though.

You're welcome. And, thank you. You have confirmed some of my own experiences with it. Think I'll try the "half fill" for a while. Funny, too, I am waiting on my replacements to arrive so just plugged in a new CE2 and it does put out more vapor with a bit more flavor, but man I sure don't like filling the CE2!

To be honest, I just add a new flavor and don't really mind the mix. Most of the time it is an interesting mix.

Reminds me of "Dum Dum Pops". In almost every bag, some of them are wrapped in a wrapper that just says "???" on it (as in "You tell Us") because they came out of the machine when one batch of flavored goo was ending and the next one beginning. As you say, it makes for some "interesting" flavors.

Is it true that if you bring in three wrappers with a star on them you get a free dum dum? This is literally all I remember from a childhood filled with dum dums, kids telling each other this and everyone saving their stars.

To be honest, I just add a new flavor and don't really mind the mix. Most of the time it is an interesting mix. Of course I'm not following Bacon Flavor with Watermelon, because I don't have either of those. But mixing my Mocah with Vanilla or Coffee isn't bad at all. Interestingly, when I fill up with a new flavor, I seem to get that flavor immediately. Probably because there is no poly-fill to retain the old juice. I do dump out any left over residue and blow out the tube before putting in a new juice, too.

Maybe have a couple of them that you keep similar juices in. Like one for the sweets, one for the other types of similar juices.
I agree with everything you said there. I'm the same way.

I recently switched from carts to 510 Clearomizers from Liberty Flights. So far, I like them a lot. These appear to be similar to the Vision clearos and they are about $4 a pop. Has anybody here tried them?

I've have 10 of these. Four originals purchased in January, and six last month.

I've had a couple that gave burnt taste. All of them eventually over-wick and flood the coil.

The design of these are brilliant. Where they need improvement is mainly in three areas.

1) They need to tweak the base design to improve the airflow to work on all eGo type batteries.
2) Offer the translucent type plastic for those that use acidic juices. I don't, but I've seen the pics of the aftermath.
3) This is the big one. They need to use a lower resistance wire with 5-6 wraps on a thicker wick and slightly wider opening for the wick. The QC on the wrap is hit and miss as well, and is the biggest reason one sees posters either reporting flooding, dry hits, or as in most cases, outstanding vape. Also more attention needs to be paid to insure there is sufficient gap between the coil and the silicone ring below the coil.

I'm using a 6 wrap 3.5 ohm stacked wick that I made vaping @5 volts. It's positively outstanding. My Boba's has never tasted better! So it can be done.

What are the specs on the wire you are using?

36ga Nichrome.

I have some 34ga coming that I think will be better, and some 32ga so I can do the same for use on an eGo.

For wick, I'm using 2mm silica from Clouds of Vapor that they sell for the Odysseus atty. They also sell no resistance wire that I twist in at the ends so that the entirety of the heated coil rest on the wick. If you've ever taken one apart to dry burn, look at the coil in a darkened room. You'll notice that the ends of the coil between the wick and both connection points glow red long before the wire around the wick when still damp. This scorches the inner silicone gasket, and has to give a hint of burnt whenever juice makes contact with that part of the wire. Adding in the 0ohm wire also makes the wire thicker at the connection points since the wires are twisted together, and makes a better contact point. Poor contact points add to the overall resistance of the carto, but not where we want it...at the coil.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I want to provide an update. I received four about two weeks ago. I vape about 1.5ml/day. Here's how they've worked out:

Day 1: Opened two, filled one with a fruity juice from Freedom Smoke USA, the other with the sample (very dark coloured) "mocha supreme" 3ml free sample I received with the order.

Day 2: Both doing great, have refilled both once. Love it. This is the promised land of clearomizers.

Day 4: Unit being filled with the fruity juice still works like new. Unit with the sample juice has a hard pull and I've started sticking papertowel bits and torn receipts down the drip tip to soak up excess juice.

Day 5: I soaked the unit with the sample juice in warm distilled water. Unit with the fruity juice is doing great.

Day 6: Dried out the unit with sample juice in it. Unit with fruity juice doing great. Opened a new one (unit three) and filled it with espresso flavored juice from Freedom Smoke USA.

Day 7: Cleaned unit still sucks, draw is tight and vapor is lacking. Unit 3 with Espresso is great, unit 1 with fruity juice still great.

Day 10: Cleaned unit still sucks, kept using it every day for a bit, but finally tired of it and threw it away. Unit 1 and 3 still awesome.

Day 12: Unit 3 stopped working. Just doesn't heat up, no sound, no vapor, threw it away after trying many times during the day. Unit 1 still working great.

Day 13: Opened unit 4 and filled with the espresso juice from Freedom Smoke USA. Works great.

So still at that point. Seems very hit or miss.

Edit: Just to make it clear, I'm vaping the first unit I ordered as I type this and I love it. Unit 2 vaped well for under an hour total of vaping, then under performed and produced hardly any vapor, I cleaned it and refilled it with the same juice and there was no change, it was awful. I threw it away. Unit 3 worked great and I used it for several days, but then it just stopped working entirely. Unit 4 has been working great, though I've only been using it a short amount of time.
