Awesome that I saw this thread! I vape with the SAME SETUP! I haven't quite mastered the TFA flavoring yet. Did a couple at 15% total flavoring and just made a Cappuccino/Chocolate at 8% total flavoring that I can always add more if needed. Funny that we're starting with the same setup and doing DIY for the same reasons! (I guess we ALL do it save money and have fun anyways right?)

Anyhow, just wanted to say hi to a fellow DIY n00b and ReoVille citizen!
hey!! I love my fellow Reonauts!! I want to get the hubs a BA grand for his birthday so I need to save more cash to get it before October!!!

I I am very new to this also I've been vaping since January.I just bought a bottle Of 18% nicotine mixed with 50/50 PGVG. I purchased two bottles of get suckered snickerdoodle,FA Cookie And FA Catalan Creme from e-cig Express. my goal is to try and make snickerdoodle cookies and also a menthol flavor for my girlfriend. I have been doing a lot of reading but still confused on a lot of things as far as how much flavor needs to go into the recipe including the nicotine that is pre mixed with PG VG. if anyone here could help me I would really appreciate it very much. I have been looking at the calculators and everything but I just don't know what needs to go in the recipe as far as how many drops of this or that.Thank you all very much! Tabber

Yes It Is For Sure! 18Mg unflavored nicotine with a 50/50 base.I just purchased it from e-cig Express.
I have been doing a lot of reading on here for quite some time now but it seems that I can't figure it out yet. not sure what numbers to put in all the boxes on the calculator. I really appreciate you responding back as I am hoping to start a batch soon. I want to make a menthol flavor for my girlfriend and I want to make a snickerdoodle cookie recipe for myself. please let me know what you think about the 18 milligrams of nicotine. Thanks Hoosier!

IT,s best the start low and work up with the flavoring. YOu can also check the fa treads for starting percentages. 18mg/ml nic is 1.8% nic. EJuice me up is a easy calulator. ENter your starting nic base , target nic, percentages of flavoring and ratios of target juice and hit caluate.

Sitting down, facing forward.
You might find this calculator helpful. It runs without needing Xcel or other spreadsheet software and has a modify feature that lets you add flavors or change ratios in an existing recipe while giving you the amounts needed for the unchanged components. It also provides gram weights if you want to mix by weight, rather than volume, which can be more accurate and give more exactly reproducible results.

18% nicotine is 180mg/ml (milligrams per milliliter) that would be pretty poisonous. Sounds like he has 18mg/ml, it was probably just a typo/brain fart. Careful with your units.

I'm just getting going too and my first 2 batches came out great. Used the KISS method. Single flavor blend only to get the hang of the mixing process.

Instead of starting a new thread I figured I'd hi-jack this one for a second and ask a couple simple questions. How does everybody clean their syringes after use? Especially the flavor one?

I have the standard 1-3-5-10ml syringes with 14 guage blunts (except for the 1ml). I use the same syringe to pull the nic, pg and vg and just keep the needle wiped off before dipping. I keep smaller clear glass bottles with working amounts of nic,pg,vg so it's easy to see how far to dip the needle. Does using the same syringe for nic,pg,vg cause any problems with cross contamination? I can't imagine it does keeping the needle wiped off but I figured it was worth asking.

How do the vets work with the flavorings and syringes? If you are mixing several batches of different recipes do you just use 1 syringe for each recipe or can you just keep using the same syringe? I'm not clear irt to how flavors "stick" to a syringe when mixing.

I like to reuse things. It's in my nature. What is the best way to clean syringes after use? PGA and then hot water?

Glad you started this thread, Marvin and Sennie!

Yesterday was major crash course reading on DIY for me. (This was AFTER I ordered samples from 9 online vendors last week, which was DUMB, I could have got enough DIY stuff to last for a year or more....grrrrrr!) Maybe I'll be inspired by the samples? CCVapes sent an Arizona Ice Tea that is actually pretty tasty! But, I digress.......

I was checking out Best of 2012 Flavors, and now am looking at suppliers.
Anyone have a recommendation? I found RTS and like that they carry Capella, TFA, and FA. Checked VapingZone and they had Hangsen which I am totally unfamiliar with and haven't seen a whole lot of posts about them.

BTW: ECF DIY members have done an excellent job explaining the whole DIY process, I feel pretty comfortable going that direction. I've done most of the veterinarian stuff for my critters for over 20 years so a lot of this stuff with %'s and ml/mg is 2nd nature. Have tons of syringes in different gauges, gloves, pipettes, and glass containers. (And have saved all my empty ejuice bottles, do NOT call me a Hoarder! LOL) DOWNLOADED the eJuice Me Up calculator, that is AWESOME!

So, DIY Gang, what are your suggestions and recommendations?

I'm a Wizard Labs fan and buy almost every DIY supply I need from them. Great prices, great shipping but, there's always a but, they are being hit very hard and it can be tough to get everything in one order.

I started a "Wishlist" on ECX, well, basically got all I want on it! Going to go over to Wizard's and see what's up there.....

Have to say one thing about vaping: It's an adventure!!!!! I NEVER had this much "fun" with analogs, about all you can do is "smoke rings", burn holes in stuff, stink everything up, and slowly kill yourself. Just slap your money down and grab your tobacco. Pfftttttt!
Vaping can turn into that search for that perfect vaping device, the best ADV, flex your brain a bit calculating you newest e-juice concoction, and you can feel healthy about doing it!

I got healthy, I'm saving money, (well, I did buy another horse with some of those savings, but that's a win, win proposition for me, bawahahaha!) and I'm having a damn good time!:2cool:
